Maia: Maia was the eldest of the seven daughters of Atlas. She was known as a mountain goddess as her and her sisters were born on Mount Cyllene. She was said to be "Mountain Maia, of the lively black eyes." Maia was the eldest, the most beautiful and the shyest of the seven daughters.
Maia was the mother of hermes-messenger to the gods, his father was Zeus.Maia also raised the infant Arcas[6] to protect him from Artemis, who had turned his mother, Callisto, into a bear.
In Roman mythology, Maia was identified with Maia Maiestas-a goddess who may be equivalent to an old Italic goddess of spring.
The month of May was named for her, and the first and fifteenth of May were sacred to her.

Other Distinguishing Features: Maia walks tall, with her head high. she tends to hide her face, when not in auditions, and only truly loses her cool once she is alone. If you walk into her shop after hours, you can quite easily find her singing into the nozzle of her vacuum cleaner.

Personality:
Maia is very passionate, and dramatic. She is funny and likeable, but can expect too much from people. She expects people to do the right thing, all the time. She doesn't trust very easily, but is a good judge of character. She has a very bad temper, but will admit is she is wrong. If she is right, however she will not back down, until the other person has acknowledged the fact too. She is, surprisingly, very tactful. She knows when to drop a subject, and is good with people. She also has a very insecure side. Due to things that have happened to her she is unsure of herself in certain situations. In front of a crowd, she oozes self-confidence, but when faced one on one in a serious environment, she becomes insecure. Maia needs protecting.

History:
Maia grew up in England, taking regular holidays to both France and Ireland. Thus she can speak Irish and French, though Irish is not regularly spoken in Ireland.

She did well in Hogwarts Scotland, getting good grades. She was quite popular and had many friends. In her fourth year, she began dating one of her closest friends Taylor Hirsch. They dated all the way through Hogwarts, but broke up for about a year, when he left Hogwarts a year before her. Taylor was a muggle pilot, and they met again the year she left Hogwarts, and picked up where they left off.

Taylor often had to go away on flights, for long periods of time. One day Maia found a picture in their apartment, of him with a woman and a child. His wife and child. She called him and he came home. It turned out that Taylor had been married in the two years they were apart and had never told her.

Maia broke up with him, but kept it quiet as she didn't want to ruin his reputation. However Taylor kept trying to get her back. When she said no, he spread rumours that she had cheated on him, that she had stolen from him and that she was an alcoholic, with a drug problem. As Maia had kept quiet she would look like she was making everything up, if she told the truth now, after he had already ruined her life.


Maia and Taylor had mutual friends, whom he turned against her, and he lost her her muggle job, and ruined her reputation as an actress in England.

Maia moved to New Zealand, to get away as Taylor was still hounding her, she decided to make a new start, a new life in New Zealand.

After moving to New Zealand, Maia bought the shop Scrivenshafts and set up a good business there-restocking and renovating the shop. She also got a job as Elizabeth Wang's assistant in Witch's Runway Magazine. Juggling the two jobs, she didn't have much tim for acting, but was discovered by agent-Kathy Johnson, while singing in her shop.

Things went well after that, but it would not stay that way.

Maia met Taylor, and they didn't know how to deal with each other.
