James was in a really good place in his life. Quidditch was good, he was getting to grips with being a prefect, leading the brotherhood, and he was dating one of the most beautiful girls in their year. He hadn't spent as much time with his girlfriend as he would like, so when the Brightstone weekend came, he could think of only one thing he wanted to do. He wanted to spend the day with her. So James sent a message to Lyra at breakfast to meet him by the entrance and they could walk down together and do whatever came naturally to them.

There were some people James wanted to avoid that day, his brother Ezra for one, who always took an unnatural interest in his girlfriends, and Maddie who had never been a fan of Lyra, and not they were dating, and he and Maddie were friends, he didn't want any drama to ruin the balance between them all. James got to the entrance hall all ready for his date and waited for Lyra to get there.

The autumn weather was in full swing in New Zealand now, and Lyra Potter was loving the fresh, crisp air that autumn always brought with it. The brunette was looking forward to spending the day with her boyfriend in Brightstone. Things were going well with James even though she hadn't seen him much lately. James was much more school driven than she was, which was probably why he was a prefect and she was not. The Gryffindors had been dating for the last six months, and Lyra was thankful that there had been barely any drama. Felix had been angry with her at first for getting involved with James. He hadn't liked Lanithro, and it was possible that Felix disliked James even more. Lyra suspected he still held a grudge against James for the Maddie incident, but she didn't comment on it. Madeline Walden was the only thing Felix and Lyra had ever argued over.

Lyra bounced down the staircase to the entrance hall where James was waiting for her to head to the village. The Gryffindor girl grinned as she made her way to him. She threw her arms around her boyfriend and gave him a kiss before stepping away slightly. "So, what are we going to do today?" she asked with a mischievous grin. Lyra didn't know if James had something in mind already, but she was sure she could come up with something if he didn't.

James beamed when he saw Lyra approaching, but had no time to do or say anything before she girl threw her arms around him and kissed him. Not a single complaint came from James, who only wished she hadn't let go when she did. "Oh I have missed you Lyra," James said keeping hold of her hand so he could pull her out of the main doors of the castle where they began their walk to the village. "I had a couple of thoughts, I thought we could start with a drink in the little tearoom then see where the day takes us?" He suggested.

Lyra grinned as James said he had missed her. She winked one of her bright green eyes at him. "That's exactly how I like it." she teased him, lightly. The Gryffindor girl was glad when James took her hand and pulled her through the doors out into the courtyard. She didn't let go as they continued down the path towards Brightstone. "I love it. It will be the perfect day as long as I get to spend it with you." she said, smiling up at James. He was a good bit taller than she was, but she was petite like her mother. "Do you think we will see any of our friends along the way?" Lyra mused aloud.

James smirked at Lyra's comment but was a little weary of it too. "I hope you haven't been staying away just so I'd miss you more," He grinned at her as he saw her wink, her bright green eyes sparkling in the morning sunlight. "Hey if thats how you feel, we can forget everything I just said and go find a secluded patch of grass and make out all afternoon," James winked at her and kissed her forehead as she looked up at him. "Honestly, if we go with my new plan, then I hope not, I'd rather not have any interruptions,"

"Of course not. I just can't help it that you actually want to study." Lyra replied with a smirk. She admired her boyfriend's interest in getting good grades, but she didn't share it. She did well in some classes, but poorly in others. Lyra was much more interested in playing well on the pitch than her school work. She knew she wanted to play professionally. She didn't need good grades to get a job. The Gryffindor girl laughed and raised an eyebrow at James. "Oh really? A secluded patch of grass to make out? That's so much better than what I was thinking." she said with a side smile at him. She was teasing him, but only slightly as she really wouldn't mind that as the afternoon activity. She enjoyed kissing James, and there really wasn't any privacy at the school. "What was your original plan?" Lyra asked curiously.
