Karah had spent most of her adult life thinking she would become Karah Shaffer - the third and final last name she would ever have or want but as she looked down at the ring that he had given her in a little blue box and not on her finger it was official to her that this was not to be the case. She could almost hate herself for both giving Ezra so much of her time and for giving up on them but it was time. As much as she had a thought to send it to him via owl it was such a beautiful piece of jewellery and she had felt happy to have been given it so Ezra deserved at least a nice return of it. The interior designer sighed as she closed the box and put on her old tennis shoes. While moving the last box was hardly going to be a fashion show she rubbed away and smudged mascara carefully and apparated to what had been their home but was now mostly empty and reminded her so much of the pain she'd felt lately. The fighting felt constant, it made her about as sad as it made her mad until finally they both agreed it was over. It hadn't been shocking, they were both working as late as they could to avoid one another, but it still wasn't an easier. As much as she felt hurt by her ex-fiance she had loved him deeply, she still did which was why she cried often but Karah was certain this was for the best.
A pop and she was standing outside, where she slid her key in to unlock it. Karah walked into the bare apartment they had rented and it was enough to bring her to tears again but she could do no such thing. No, she had to get her work done as their landlord was to give the keys to another couple in the next few days. If Karah hoped for anything it would be that Ezra wouldn't show up now and that the next couple had better luck than they did. The thought dragged through her mind as she packed the last of her things, of which there were few.
Terrible sorry!
