Cecily made her way hurridley up the stairway to the owlery, clutching a letter close to her heart in her small hands, tears just starting to brim on the edge of the usually cheerful girls eyes. It had been months since she'd talked to her brother, her best friend, and she desperately needed him now. With motions made clumsy by her haste she tied a letter to the leg of her small owl Hermes, whispering to him to take good care of the letter meant for her brother at Durmstrang.
Dear Jake,
God I miss you. I hate to admit it, but I really really miss you. For the first time I feel my age. I'm a scared little twelve year old completely lost without the guidance of her big brother and best friend. I know you'll tease me later for this, and probably tell all the guys back home what a wuss thier little dodger is being, but frankly, I could care less. I don't fit here Jake. Everyone's so.... different. I don't fit in with the first years and none of the older students want to be friends with a little kid. I wish I had known that hanging out solely with your friends... well, our friends really, but people older than me... would turn me into such a social recluse in the end. I've already made an enemy of some bratty little b!tch in slytherin who thinks she's better than everyone else. Luckily I haven't seen her lately or I swear I'd hit that smug grin off her face. I made cheer squad. I guess thats kind of cool, but we haven't had any prctices yet or anything. I just don't know what to do Jake. I miss you and I have no idea whats going on in your life now. I need my best friend back
(yes, that would be you brother dearest)
Sincerely,
Your sister
