Teddy's Halloween costume wasn't much of a costume at all, but in his defence, he’d been busy for the last couple of weeks to even think about it and before he'd known, it was Halloween already. Last year, lessons and running the Brotherhood felt like a lot, but this year was another level. Between co-captaining the Quidditch team, OWLs, and prefect patrols with Veronica, the club was the easy responsibility he had. He had loads still to do this evening but decided to take Halloween night off to enjoy the feast, but putting effort into dressing up felt like too much.

Instead, he came up with a cover story for his costume to enter the competion. Then he decided to check out the spooky tent, curious to see what was inside. The rattling coffins were cool, but it was the funhouse mirrors that stole his attention. He lingered in front of the one that made him appear extra long, using it to straighten his clothes and check his hair was still on point and hadn't gone all crazy from the beanie hat. Priorities, after all.

Aroha's costume was perhaps a little bit silly, and a little bit last minute, but she liked it. A goth girl. It wasn't her usual scene at all, and suited Halloween. She'd wandered around the hall, partaking in some snacks and enjoying her time but she knew where she wanted to head - the spooky tent. It was important to show off her Gryffindor bravery after all.

She was enjoying the ridiculousness of it all, the props and everything that had been set up, when she turned a corner and came across none other than prefect-boy Teddy himself. By her reckoning he was just looking in a mirror, making Aroha a little irritated that she couldn't sneak up behind him. But maybe he'd been so into his own reflection he hadn't noticed her yet. "Boo!" Aroha said, moving suddenly at the same time to try and scare Teddy, waiting to see if she'd hit her mark.

Teddy squinted into the mirror, sure he'd seen something in the corner of it, but he didn’t have time to process what it could’ve been before he heard “Boo!” behind him. Startled, Teddy's Keeper reflexes kicked in and he instinctively he bawled his fist and threw an arm out like he was going to punch the person without even a thought about what he was doing.

Aroha's eyes went wide when she realised what was happening, trying to dodge out of the way but Teddy's fist managed to collide with her shoulder. "Ouch," she said, rubbing the shoulder in question. "Okay, so you punch when startled, duly noted," Aroha said to herself, a little bit disappointed she hadn't managed to successfully scare her now quidditch captain.

Teddy spun round and it dawned on him that he'd punched Aroha, "Sh!t, sorry!" He said, seeing her clutching her shoulder where he'd hit her, "Are you okay?" He did feel guilty about it. "Oh yeah, I should have said, I have really bad reactions to people jumping out at me." He told her, but mostly he just wanted to make sure she was okay.
