Open Looking for Lina

Malachi never wanted to deliver roses again. Ever. Well, it wasn't that bad - the smiles on the faces of the recipients certainly made it worthwhile. But his legs ached and he'd got lost twice and he still had four more people to find. He peered into various rooms along the fourth floor corridor, but he couldn't find Lina Olaf anywhere. He opened the last door and glanced down at the name on the note. "Is... Lina Olaf in here?"

Lina hadn't ever received a rose in her life, not even a yellow one. When she heard someone calling her name, she didn't even twig that it was in relation to the Valentines day traditions, although she didn't know why anyone would be looking for her. "What do you want?" she asked the kid, walking towards him with a frown on her face. She kept herself more or less to herself.​

Malachi's heart lifted for a fraction of a second before dropping at the sight of Lina' expression. He shrank a little - then remembered what his mother had told him, and stood up straighter. "Oh, I have a rose for you. Sorry," he added, out of habit. Before he could say anything else stupid, he pulled Lina's rose from the bunch and offered it to her.
