It was daytime. But, you would've fooled Warren. He was currently a few meters into the Forbidden Forest. The trees covered the sky so well that it was nearly impossible to see in front of himself. It felt like twilight had set upon the forest. "Lumos" He called. Hoping the light would make him a bit less scared of his plans. He had been in the forest before. Even during night time. However, something about seeing darkness during the day sent a shiver up the young boy's spine.

However, the light was actually very comforting. It stood as a reminder that Warren, as a wizard, had the power to change whatever he needed. Sure it was a little arrogant to think that way, but with all the infinite power of magic... It was a little true.

For now Warren sat on a nice large rock. He waited for his Hufflepuff comrade to join him on a midday walk through the forest. The two agreed to simply stroll about, as a nice change in scenery from the typical Hogwarts events.

Alone for the time being Warren began to whistle, as a nice way to pass hsi time. He had a strange melody stuck in his head, he didn't know where he heard it but it set the scene well. Mysterious, calm, and felt like it was leading up to something big. "The perfect song..."
He was whistling the Harry Potter theme song used by Warner Bros. Only the first bit. Its just a joke, nothing to significant with that.

Adventure. Such a simply word, but its meaning can mean so much. It could mean the end of a glorious life, or the beginning of a glorious friendship, Daniel being only thirteen, hoped to God it would be the latter in this particular adventure. It was interesting, how the bright, warmth of the ssun disappeared as Daniel walked further into the forest, he wasn't sure why he decided to talk a stroll through a forbidden forest with his fellow Hufflepuff student, but he was and no amount of scolds from his cousin was going to make him turn back around and run to the Hufflepuff common room, he was far too naive for that sort of reasonable behavior, besides, a fellow Hufflepuff was going to be there too, it wasn't like he was going alone.

Daniel watched as the sun disappeared and the noise of the lake was replaced with the whistling of the wind in the trees, if he wasn't so hyperactive at the moment, he would have been scared, but his body was too busy keeping Daniel from climbing trees and doing flips to register the fear he should be feeling, he was just too excited. "Lumos." He muttered quietly, using his trusted wand to guide him through the forest and find his buddy, he smirked when he saw a source of light in the distance, it was either his Hufflepuff friend, or a giant fire fly, though a giant firefly would have been fun to watch, Daniel was qquite sure it was his friend. "Warren?" He called, making sure he didn't accidently scare the boy by randomly jumping out beside him. Daniel smiled brightly. "You ready?"

"Am I ready?" Warren scoffed at the question. "I've been ready for a while now." Warren felt renewed after seeing Daniel so excited to keep going. Seems the darkness didn't scare him. And Warren couldn't help but reason, "So why should it bug me?"

Now if Daniel was already in tears, Warren would have turn back. Fear is just slightly infectious. However, the young wizard figured he would be able to handle anything as long as he had a another person as excited as him around. He new that adventure was just around the corner. All of his crazy fantasties could be coming true today. If luck happened to be on his side.

"Okay lets get going!" Warren said while jumping off his seat. Any direction you feeling in particular? Cause I think we should walk down that way." Warren said pointing off in a certain direction. "I think I can here a river or something. It might be neat. What do you think?"

Daniel smiled brightly when Warren showed no signs of wanting to turn back, this was good because Daniel would have come all the way here for no reason at all, and then would have had to go back too, because he was very excited to go adventuring into the forest, but he wasn't crazy and he did not have a death wish, he wasn't going to wonder the forest by himself, but in the company of Warren? Daniel couldn't see why the two of them couldn't go on a little adventure to Merlin knows where, but that was the fun, the unknown, the adreneline rush that was about to happen from the creepy surroundings, it felt awesome, he was so preoccupied with the scenery and the feel of the forest , that Daniel had almost forgotten that Warren had been speaking to him, but he was able to get most oof what Warren said. Daniel rolled his eyes at Warren's scoff. " Sorry for aasking." He said, poking his tongue out at Warren in a childish and joking manner.

Daniel's eyes followed Warren's pointing, he was pointing down a small naturally made track, there were several hunting trees that gave the illusion of a tunnel, it looked like a good starting place for an inturesting adventure, plus the added fact that there was apparently a river down there, rivers held water, which attracted creatures, maybe they would see something interesting? Daniel nodded. ''I think that sounds like a great place to start, we might find something really awesome!" He enthused excitedly, starting to walk down the track. " Let's go.'' He said, turning around to face Warren, a grin sitting firmly on his face, his body still unable to fully register the dangers he should be reacting to, such as the eerie sounds of the forest and the overall spooky setting, but excitment clouded many things.

Warren snickered in response to Daniel's craziness. He watched jovially as the boys expressions clearly changed to reveal his emotions. A little fast paced for Warren, but he was sure he would be able to keep up with the momentum. Soon enough he'd be as hyperactive as his friend.

"Perfect! Yup if anything neat is in a forest its at the river. Afterall everyone needs water. And if you don't need water..." Warren gulped at the thought. "Something you eat probably does."

But that little bit of fear throttled Warren into an adrenalin high. "Lets do this!" He exclaimed. Jumping over a few rocks and starting the march towards the mysterious goal.

He couldn't help but 'ooo' and 'ah' at the various sights. The trees were huge this far into the forest. "Hey check this out." Warren shouted as he walked up to a big tree. "Its SO big. I can't even reach my way around it. Way different then trees in the city."

As he got closer to the tree a bird flew just over his head. It turned briskly to the other side of the tree.

"Come on,"
Warren said in a hushed tone. "We can afford a slight detour..." Warren began to creep to the other side of the tree, and saw a small hole. The bird, a bright red woodpecker had built a nest in the notch. The sight simply made Warren smile. The bird didn't seem scared by his presence. "So different than a city eh." He said to Daniel.

Daniel nodded in agreement to his knowledge, everything needed water, especially the most interesting of creatures, Daniel was then ststruck with a worrying thought, this thought made his heart speed up slightly, this time, not from excitement. What if there was a werewolf or some other completely dangerous creature out here? Warren and him were third years, not seventh years, they had many years to go before tthey ccould imagine apparating away, heck, Daniel could still barely fly a from, let alone actually fight of a superior magical creature. But he decided not the voice his fear and continued to act hyperactively, it kept the worries away. "I must admit, I think we'l have to do this again.'' He commented. No amount of fear and worrying could get Daniel to not want to go back into this forest, it was so magical and mysterious, he could barely control his excitement, he was about to blow up.

Daniek laughed as Warren went crazy, it was quite funny, it seemed that some of Daniel's hyperactive personality was contagious, which made this trip all the more fun, it would be boring if both he and Warren were too scared to continue, but luckily they were both obviously having too much fun to think about turning back anytime soon. Daniel looked around, he was a few steps behind Warren and he was basically mirroring everything his Hpufflepuff friend did, as Daniel too was amazed by the sites, simply wonderful. ''This place is wonderful...''' he muttered, turning around as he walked. Daniel looked at the humongus tree Warren had pointed out, though in all honesty, Daniel was sure he would have seen it sooner or later, it was massive. ''I agree with you, suburban trees are so little, but these trees? They're like houses by themselves.'' He explained, touching the moss that grew on the tree carefully.

Daniel wasn't sure why he found the trees so fascinating, but he did, they were just so large, he had seen large trees before, but these trees were rivaling the castle towers, well maybe they weren't that big, but to Daniel? They were bigger than Mount Everest. Daniel nodded and followed Warren, he didn't mind following Warren because Warren was viewing things in a very similar way he was, which meant that he wasn't dragging Daniel anywhere he didn't want to go. He watched the bird quietly, Daniel had never rreally lived in a city, he lived more in a suburban area, but his house had a very large bachyard, which had quite large trees and various birds, which might explain his lack of complete fear for the forest. Daniel turned around, he thought he heard a twig snap. ''What was tthat?" He asked curiously, ushering Warren towards the direction they had originally been going, towards the river.

ooc: You can decide the animal they can see :p

Warren's heart began to race when he heard Daniel ask, "What was that?" The sound was much louder than a twig snapping. Warren nervously looked to the other side of the large fortress of a tree.

The sight made him shudder. Warren quickly looked back to Daniel with a pale face. "Its a troll." He whispered. "A forest troll."

Warren didn't pay attention to Daniel's reaction. He became lost in his own thoughts which where cycling fast. "A troll. They are strong. They are scary." He thought to himself. Warren took a big sniff of air to calm his nerve. "They smell really bad."

A smirk grew on his face. Only briefly. He was proud that he could make jokes in the face of such fear.

"Wait..," An epiphany came to his head. "I think we are okay its... not attacking us." Warren said to Daniel. Warren poked his head from the side of the tree one more time. "And its leaving."

Warren's heart beat started to slow. In one way he was relived. On the other, he didn't want that thrill to be over. With a devilish grin he offered up an idea, "screw the river, wanna follow the troll?"

ooc: Good choice. These boys are fearless
Daniel nodded slowly as Warren spoke to him, he noticed that it was a troll, quite a large and very very ugly troll, Daniel began to wonder how the species survived, if they all looked this ugly, Daniel didn't see how they could look at each other, but let the thought slip his mind when he realised that he was mentally insulting a creature that could possibly eat him it if saw him. His sense of smell seemed to die, the troll smelt aweful, like it never had a bath in its life, and seeing that it just seemed to be pounding by the river without looking at the water twice, Daniel decided to believe that this particular troll did not shower often, if at all. "It's killing me..." Daniel muttered to himself, not only was his nose suffering, but his eyes were not doing so well either, but he ignored the bad smell and looked at Warren when he spoke in a quiet whisper.

Nodding, Daniel agreed, he turned back to watch the ugly, smelly troll totter away very unbalencly, it seemed like it was going to topple over any minute, like it was drunk. Daniel laughed inwardly, he couldn't believe he just described a troll as 'drunk', thank the spirits they weren't mind readers, or he was sure the troll would have killed him by the amount of mental insults he had throw at it, most were completely unintentional. "That's good, I suppose..." He whispered back. Daniel didn't want to run up and say hi to the troll, but he couldn't help but think that his and Warren's adventure would be a little boring if they just turned around and went in the opposite direction as the troll.

Daniel's heartbeat slowed back to its normal pace, which compared to a normal person, was fast anyway, he looked at Warren, who was sporting a devilish grin, Daniel couldn't help but wonder what his companion was thinking, but he figured it out as soon as his spoke. Warren was obviously thinking along the same lines as Daniel, the troll was interesting and it would be a shame to look at the river when a troll was much more interesting, the danger that came with such a creature made it more interesting than any river could be. He nodded, a grin sitting on his face. "Yes, yes I do." He said, quietly waiting until the troll was a few feet away before leaving their hiding place and slowly following the troll through the forest, hoping they didn't forget their way.

ooc:Yup, I figured if anyone could handle it, it would be these two. However is it bad that I keep on wanting Warren to scream, "TROLL IN THE DUNGEON... err FOREST!"

IC:

"Perfect. Lets get going then." Warren whispered in reply. He wasn't actually sure how good a trolls hearing was. However, he didn't want to be any louder than necessary. Just in case the troll would turn around and violently start attacking the duo. However, for the time being it didn't seem like the troll was aware of their presence.

The troll walked slowly. It seemed to only be able to take two steps froward before it teetered and stumbled to the side. Then it would recompose itself and keep walking. Warren darted behind trees keeping up with the monster. He probably didn't have to. The creature never seemed to even think about turning around. "But as long as its stumbling you never know which direction it will head to..." Warren considered to himself.

So he kept up with his shady chase of the troll. With every large troll step, Warren would need to dart behind another tree. He ignored the tremors in the Earth the beasts immense weight caused. And lastly, Warren started to get slightly concerned that he would lose his sense of smell, because he seemed to stop noticing the stink of the troll now.

The chase was going well. Warren would snicker when the giant did foolish things like scratch its bum, or fall. However, things suddenly changed. The troll reached where it was strolling towards. Warren caught a view of what it was and all he could say was a breathy, "Wow."

--------------------------

OOC: You pick what we see.

Daniel nodded and they were off, following the Troll to Merlin knows where. Daniel had to ask himself, was he crazy? He was following a troll through a dark forest, his wand was barely giving off enough light because he was quite conscious of the that if the troll saw the light, it would probably not like it. Daniel darted behind trees and rolled along the ground when the troll happened to look like it was turning, though it never did a full 180 turn, that didn't stop Daniel's behaviour, knowing his luck, he would let down his guard and the troll would see them, then what? Death or hospital wing. Daniel didn't like any of the choices and to be perfectly honest, if he had to chose, it would probably be death, because the hospital wing was dreadful in Daniel's eyes. "I wonder where it's going..." He muttered quietly. He wasn't sure the hearing range of a troll, and Warren seemed to recognise this fact also, because it was quite difficult to hear him.

The troll stopped abruptly, this made Daniel very curious because the only time the troll had ever stopped in its travels was when it fell over. Daniel crept closer and looked down a small hill, and at the bottom were... babies? Maybe? Daniel couldn't be sure because he had never seen troll babies before, in fact, he had not seen many babies of anything, why would he? They cried all the time and were rather smelly, and these baby looking trolls were no exception, in fact, they were ten times worse and made Daniel feel like he never wanted children, ever. These babies were huge and very ugly, and the smell that waft its way to Daniel's nose... it was horrible. "Oh dear Merlin..." He muttered, holding his nose, it was so bad that his eyes were watering. The first troll was bad enough, but the added stench of the baby trolls was simply mind-blowing, and nose killing. "Are they babies?" He continued, looking closely at them. Daniel did not want to think this, but they were kinda adorable, in a weird ugly baby troll sense, they were the shape of eggs and their eyes were very big on their little heads, he couldn't help but think that they were a little cute, even if the thought disturbed him and made him second guess his eyesight.

Warren burst out laughing. "Babies" Was all he could mutter between gasps of air. "I can't believe it. Troll babies."

Suddenly Warren didn't feel like he even needed to whisper. The troll babies began to cry and make enough noise that Warren thought the beast would definitely be unable to hear the two boys. "I feel like all we need is a talking donkey and this can be a horrible sequel to a wonderful movie (its a shrek joke)."

The troll seemed to be busy dealing with the children. So Warren came from his hiding spot behind the tree and openly started to observe the trolls. While it was incredibly humorous for Warren. It also tugged at his heart strings a bit. Warren never usually cared that he had left his home to attend school here at Hogwarts. But it was rather sweet seeing the Troll care for its young. It cradled the children, and seemed to care for it.

Of course than the troll started to sing a lullaby... "Oh gosh..." Warren said with a pained smirk. "I think its singing. And that's singing in the loosest definition of the word." He quickly covered his ears. And even though it was painful to listen to, the feelings of affection for its children were clearly there. "I never thought I'd emphasize with a troll so much. Who'da thunk it?" Warren said.

Daniel couldn't help but chuckle when Warren started laughing, it was so weird seeing troll babies, he had never thought of trolls as capable of loving and caring for young, apparently they were undeniably dumb and had short tempers, Daniel wasn't sure how the young would survive such a parent. But when Warren mentioned a movie, Daniel didn't know what he was talking about, since he didn't watch many movies, in fact, he didn't have a television because his family were too active for such things, if they were bored, they would go for a walk or a jog, or would play at the beach or something else active. Besides, Daniel was usually too busy and excited to sit still long enough to watch a full movie. "What movie are you talking about?" He asked curiously, he wanted to know more about Warren, considered they were now walking through the forest together and had stumbled on a fabulous find.

Daniel sat quietly beside Warren and watched the troll curiously, it was sweet, seeing such feeling from something he had completely over looked, he felt guilty. When he first saw the troll, he thought it smelly and totally disgusting, but now? He saw a new side of it, it was just a single parent trying to raise its young to the best of its abilities, this reminded him of his uncle, though he had to admit, the troll was doing a better job of caring for its young than his uncle was at caring for Andy. It looked like it cared about them. When the troll started singing though, Daniel's ears joined his nose in its vacation, now he could barely hear anything, nor could he smell the stench of the babies, he covered his ears, they were dying, it was painful, but the soothing face the babies wore told him that this was probably their favourite 'song', if it could be called that. "I'm glad my mother is a better singer!" He called, smiling slightly, he had to speak quite loud because the sound of the troll's singing was very loud, he nodded when he heard Warren speak. "Yeah, I kinda feel guilty for judging it!" He explained, looking back at the troll, who appeared to be cooing over the young.

"Have you ever seen Shrek?" Warren asked. "Its a bit of an old movie for us to have seen, but my older sister got me to watch when I was little. It makes fun of fairy tales. Animated comedy." Talking about his sister and watching the motherly troll was really giving Warren a sense of homesickness.

Warren chuckeld at Daniel's joke. And was glad that he agreed with the sentiment of empathy for the beast. It was an odd experince, the well known wizard killer, seemed so peacefulw ith its children.

Hoping to move back to a more amicable discussion Warren asked his new friend, "So what kind of movies do you like to watch?"

OOC: Sorry for the wait. I switched cities so the packing and moving really took out my energy.

ooc: Don't worry about it, RL comes first. ^_^

Daniel frowned slightly and shook his head, in all honesty, he didn't watch television, or watch movies from any era, he knew what they were and knew how they worked, but he never thought about watching a movie or a television, he was too energetic for such past times, watching the troll with its young was a challenge. ''No I haven't, in all honesty, I don't really watch television or movies or anything like that.'' He explained. ''I was usually too busy to do that sort of stuff, and I can't do it now because I'm here and we can't have televisions.'' He said, laughing slightly. He didn't mind that it was probably weird for him to have never used aa television before, it was just a personal quirk, all the times he even thought that hhe would be able to sit through a movie, his cousin Andy would came and he would have to babysit, Andy was scared of televisions, so even then he couldn't watch anything.

Daniel laughed slightly, he had an idea of what movies he would most likely enjoy, though he woudn't be able to sit through them. ''I have not fully watched anything to bbe honest, but I think I would most enjoy a comedy or horror, they keep people on their toes. I think I will have to try and give Sherk a go, it sounds okay, fairytales are pretty funny by themselves, I can't imagine them being any funnier than they already are.'' He said, laughing. ''What is your favourite movie? '' he asked, keeping the conversation rolling to avoid a 'lul'.

OOC: Sorry again… :p

IC:

“Wow… life without movies. I guess you feel decently normal here. After all a bunch of the pure bloods have never used electricity in their lives.”

It never occurred to Warren how dramatically his life would change even after leaving Hogwarts. Would he be able to live with electricity and magic at once? Would he need to pick his world? It couldn’t help but make him think of the Amish people, and how they are left with a very similar decision to make in their youth.

“Hmm… favourite movie. Its hard to just pick one. It really has to go with your mood. But either a fantasy, or comedy are usually my favourites. And of course Disney classics, and pixar. Oh those are companies that make good movies. It really isn’t something that can be easily described I guess.” Warren chuckled at the end of his statement. He had one hand on the back of his head, which for some reason felt like a good posture when explaining the difficulty in answering questions.

“I guess its just like asking what is your favourite game. It depends on who you’re playing with and when your playing…”

Xerina loved being in the forest. It was her home, she had lived here her whole life, she was born here. She would never want any one to harm her sacred place. She loved running with her herd, and she had never defied them. Neither had her parents, and yet they were no longer here. But it was not the herd who was responsible for their deaths, it was the humans. The humans with the magic on the South side of the forest. They thought they knew everything, they had taken so much from her and yet they still existed. Her heard had tried unsuccessfully to avenge their deaths and had only been threatened by the Ministry in return. They had said that her parents deaths were an accident and that avenging them would be murder and seen as an offence. She couldn't believe that the humans had gotten away with such an act. How could the herd let such a thing slide? Why would they heed the word of the ministry? How could they allow such a trecherous act to go unpunished? She was seething with rage. All her life her herd had told her to protect her own, or to protect herself using any means neccessary. What did that mean to them now? They had just clammed up and not done anything. She sighed, what was she going to do now anyway. That was over ten years ago. There was nothing for her to do. All there was for her was to just sit around and do nothing, she felt utterly useless. That is until she heard some voices, coming from the south side of the clearing. She glared, they were voices and they were definately speaking english words. English human words. She couldn't believe it. Though she didn't quite know how she knew they were human, she just sort of sensed it, and she would die before she let this opportunity slip through her fingers. She frowned as she turned on her hoof and started in the direction she heard the voices. She wasn't sure what she was going to do, but she knew she had to do something. Something to get back at everything they had done to her parents.

As she got closer she was able to hear what they were talking about. They were teasing the troll that was no more than fifty feet away from them. The nerve of those demons. How could they do such meaness to a harmless troll mother, trying to nurse her babies. Xerina moved to stand behind a tree, they couldn't see her because she was hidden in the shadows, but if they looked hard enough they would be able to her moss green eyes shining from the lumos spell one of the boys had cast. She cursed softly under her breath. Why must they use magic. She hated magic, and magic users. But now it would be too risky to move. She was in their line of sight and it would only be a matter of time until they saw her.

Daniel laughed slightly,Warren was right, he met a boy ages ago, they were still friends, but Daniel could get how he had never even seen a television. But it wasn't his fault, most his family were magical and he was raised around magic, but it didn't stop Daniel from laughing about it, even though he had never sat down and watched a movie in his life, at least he'd seen a television before. ''Yeah, it is strange when they don't have any idea what your talking about, even if I havn't watched a movie, at least I know what they are.'' He said, laughing quietly and shaking his head slowly. ''It's rreally cconfusing ssometimes.'' He added.

Daniel broke into fits of more laughter as Warren explained to him what Pixar and such were, he knew what they are, how navie did Warren think he was? He had two magical parents and had grown up around magic, but he had also grown up with a strong mix of muggle influence and knew who made movies, he wasn't completely dumb. ''I know what pixar is, i'm not that navie, give me some credit please.'' He joked, rolling his honey brown eyes and looking around as the troll started to reach the end of its song. Daniel then shrugged at Warren's final statement, it was true and he understood the feeling, he didn't play video games, but he played many team based sports that he considered games, he was going to reply, but the corner of his eyes caught something, something shone slightly, like a pair of eyes near a tree, he would not of seen, except they were at the right angle that they shone because of their spells, and he had gone hunting with family before, he knew when he saw eyes, and they were definately eyes, he was sure. ''Warren...'' he said quietly, looking closely at what he was sure wwere eyes. ''Is it just me, or is there something there by that tree, the really big one with the weird leaves.'' He explained, motioning to where they eyes were.

Warren had no idea what Daniel was talking about. “Something in the trees?” He questioned out loud. Warren tried to focus where Daniel was pointing. However, he had to admit to himself that he could never really follow where were people were pointing.

“I don’t see anything?” Warren said slowly. “But lets get going just in case.” He started to back up, starring off into the bushes, hoping to see something more. Warren pulled out his wand wary of the creature he couldn’t see…

Xerina knew she was discovered the minute the young humans began to move. It was her eyes they had seen. she cursed under her breath slightly before stepping out into the light. Her eyes were daggers as she watched them. She hated humans, with a passion. She glared. "Human, you are the scum of this world. You shall perish by my hands. Or by my wrath of word." She told them as she looked at the troll. It was just trying to be a good parent. What did those offsprings know about being a parent? Probably none would have a child anyway. She walked over to the troll and patted her leg. She knew this particular troll. They were friends. "Please Signa, help me in my quest?" She asked as she looked up at the troll. The troll nodded. She was a nice friend. "I will shoot... You run?" She asked. Signa nodded. They had done this when they were children. Xerina nodded. "I thankyou Signa" She pulled her bow and arrow from behind her and aimed it at the dark boys head. He had recognised her first. She shot her arrows at them as Signa started bounding in their direction.,

Daniel nodded in agreement, he was a happy-go-lucky kind of guy, but he did notice danger when it was near. So, he also pulled out his wand and started to follow Warren out of the clearing, it was good that Warren didn't put up a fight about it, or they could have been sitting there for ages. But when he heard someone, or thing, saying something, he turned around, and was quite shocked to see what he did. A woman, but she was also, well she appeared to be, part horse. Coming from his magical background, he knew this to be a centaur, he had never personally met one, or seen one. He only knew that this was a centaur by description, and she couldn't really be anything else, so centaur was a good bet for him. The problem? Daniel didn't speak whatever it was she was speaking, he only knew two lanuages, English, and Native American, Cheyenne dialect. Not what ever she was speaking, but he got the distinct idea that she was not saying: 'Welcome to the forest kiddies!' He turned to Warren, confusion on his face. "I don't know about you, Warren, but she doesn't look very happy..." He whispered quietly, turning back to face the centaur.

It was something about her voice, stance and face, her eyes did not show happiness or greeting, in fact, she looked like she was about ready to kill them, which became apparent when she started shooting at them, well, mainly Daniel, though Warren was pretty close to him, thank Merlin she appeared to be a bad shot, but only one thing was running its way through Daniel's highly active mind. "Run!" He yelled, pulling Warren with him as he ran in the oposite direction of the arrows, centaur and troll. He was pretty sure he was running back to the castle, he hoped anyway.
