Sydney sat on a tree stump near a group of trees and sighed. A lot had happened last year, so much that she had been pulled out for the end of the year and spent the rest of it at home. Well, what was now her home. She loved Markov and his family dearly, they were almost like her own family. Almost. Her own family were all six feet under now.

Sydney had returned to school for the new year and was trying her best to fit back in with the old way but it was hard. Her mothers death hit her harder than her fathers had and she couldn't drop it from her mind. No matter what she was doing, her mothers voice was there, telling her what she knew her mother would want from her.

Sydney had tried to change from who she was but now she felt guilty. Her mother had wanted her that way, had liked her that way and she had changed. The last memory her mother had of her was Sydney trying to leave the house in her new clothes and them arguing about fashion. Sure, they had made up via owl and continued talking but that was he last time she had properly seen her mothers face with life in it and it was looking disappointed. Sydney was so wrapped up in the thoughts of her mother she didn't notice the person near her.

It was just like the yesterday, same old boring day. Enzo was too lazy to rise up or rather get up. Lying on his bed, he stared at his dorm rooms ceiling. It had a poster of his favorite music icon, The Beatles. "Sunday seems to be so...."he moaned as he started to take a deep breath before continuing on to his sentence. "dull." He met some new friends, still it wasn't still enough. Being single is quite a bad thing for Enzo, there was no one to share his affection in any way. "Sucks." he then growled to himself. He was obviously alone inside his dorm, his dorm mates were out. They were invited in some overnight party, alcohol, liquor and stuff. Enzo was invited though he decided to stay at Dumstrang. "Fine" Enzo said. Lifting his arms up, he then started to rise up and finally come to his senses.

It felt weird as he stood straight at the edge of his bed. Checking his watch it was a quarter to one, he overslept again. Enzo decided to roam around the school ground passing by the hallway. There was no one insight, some students decided to go outside the school wearing his favorite plain white shirt and a leather jacket and some jeans. He went farther and decided to stay at one simple quiet spot, when she suddenly overheard footsteps of a person. "Anyone there?" he asked.

Sydney felt people walking around her and, feeling like she was being watched, walked off. The news of her mother was huge after all. She was the wife of a convicted child murdered, and Sydney was her daughter. Everywhere she went people stared at her.

Sydney walked around the grounds for a bit until she spotted a familiar face, one that she didn't live with. He seemed to be the only person she knew in school that didn't share the house. She jumped when he spoke and smiled. "Enzo?" The blonde walked over to him, smoothing down her top.

The last time Sydney had seen Enzo, she had kissed him. Then, less than a week later, she was taken from school to adjust to her new home life. She was sure he would know about her mothers' death, it was in the papers after all. She wondered if he would still talk to her, after what the papers had said about their family.

The cowardly father, running from a fight. The stupid mother, falling for an evil man. The horrific step father, murderer of children The doomed twins, destined to grow up horribly. The poor little boy, growing up in horror with no where to go and herself, the evil prodigy to rule the home next. That's what most people thought of them now anyway. The article hadn't mentioned Shaylah, the only really evil member of their family.

A sight of a beautiful young blonde surprised his eyes. "Sydney?" he said to her in shock. It's been months since the two were caught kissing somewhere inside or outside the school. Enzo could still replenish the memory. The last update that he heard about her was her family falling apart, though he wasn't able to get in touch with some of the deeper details. He knew very well that Sydney is a strong girl, and that made him more swooned over over her. Though gossip started to spread all over the campus he didn't cared at all, it was her family who was a mess. Hopefully not Sydney. Enzo wandered his eyes trying to check they were only the two, he just wanted some privacy with her and all.

"Hey, long time no see." he said to her trying to show his charming smile. Enzo didn't knew how to react or even what to say to her. The wind blew stronger and stronger leaving Enzo's hair messed up. His hair was unique, it curled upward leaving his hair still looking great. He couldn't merely hide his excitement in his eyes when he saw Sydney, he kept on staring at her. If she was an Popsicle, Enzo would leave her melting.

Sydney couldn't hide the shock from her face when he spoke to her before smiling slightly. "You're still talking to me then?" She knew she looked a lot different than when they had last seen each other. She had gone back to her fashion instead of testing what she liked, but her personality remained the same. She refused to act differently, besides, it was only her clothes her mother hated.

The wind flew through Sydney's hair, only adding to the bed head style it was in. She automatically put her hands up to stop it going out of control though. She liked her hair but it could get knotty easily and she didn't want to spend forever in the evening brushing her hair. Sydney's smile grew when she saw the way he was staring at her. He looked as though the carnival had come to town or something. "Yeah, long time." She couldn't think of anything to say really.

"Obviously." he chuckled at her statement. There wasn't a particular reason for him to avoid him. Enzo stretched his arms up high and started to look up at the azure sky. He wasn't used to awkward moments like this and so he decided to spice up some things between the two. "So, How's your boyfrend?" he joked with sarcasm. For several days Enzo was busy teasing some students around Dumstrang. Lately, there was no sign of girls to flirt with. He was obviously bored to entertain some other girls who kept on stalking at him.

He met new friends, new flings but there wasn't so much to think about his life. He knew that if he stared deep into Sydney's eyes, he would be captivated once again. It was his second to the last year, only one school year to go and his off from living his life. Enzo was still so unsure of his future, his father wanted him to be an auror, healer or perhaps a position in the ministry. But he wasn't sure if that was he wanted, he loved music but that wasn't a appropriate career for him. Secretly, Enzo and his sister Ashe wanted to be both Death Eaters even though it may cause to their father's heart attack.

Sydney looked up at him, nervous enough about talking that she missed the sarcasm in his tone. "Boyfriend? I don't have a boyfriend." Her forehead crumpled into a look of confusion and her head tilted slightly to the left in a subconscious move. She didn't realize he had been joking, she was too panicky right now.

Sydney knew she had to lighten up but, after the last time she had seen Enzo, and now with the things being said about her, she couldn't bring herself to do it. She wondered if that kiss had meant anything to him or if he was just a regular get around like most of her male friends were. It seemed she attracted them after all.

Sydney wasn't sure how she felt about Enzo. The thought of him brought a warm, fuzzy feeling to her stomach and a smile to her lips. But so did the thought of Teddy and he was just a friend. The feeling was there more for Enzo but, if it meant she liked him then, on some level, it meant she liked Teddy too. Unless, it was the same feeling caused by different emotions. With both there was great liking but in different manners. Yes, that had to be it. Even so, who said Enzo liked her back. Flirting didn't meant anything in ways of an indicator now, it was something everyone did and she couldn't tell if someone was being jokey or not.

So sorry for the delay.

From the looks of it Sydney took Enzo's joke seriously, wasn't it obvious that he was just joking. It was his way for saying Hello or rahter starting to pump up the conversation. He wasn't bothered with the rumors and gossips about Sydney he wasn't bothered before and now. Enzo was still very aware of their first and last meeting, the kiss felt great but it wasn't that satisfying as it was done for like five minutes. He tried to remain coll and relax as he watched Sydney froze. "You wanna talk about it? the kiss or anything that pops out of your mind?" he asked her as it was the only thing he could think of at the moment.

After all he needed to be straight forward with his feelings to avoid misconceptions. Although Enzo wasn't that sure if he liked Sydney more than as a friend he was very aware that he felt something tingling as if a insect was crawling inside him every time he was around Sydney. It made him feel sane at the same time glad that he was with her.

Sydney nodded slightly and ran her hand through her hair. "If, if you want too." She hadn't really been in a situation like this before. It was a foreign concept to her. She had only had one boyfriend and he wasn't really a boyfriend, he was her best friend. It didn't really go anywhere, not without feelings. Sydney wasn't sure if she had feelings for Enzo. Sure, there was the feelings when she was around him, they were there now, but beyond that she couldn't be sure. She hadn't really had time to check.

I am so so so so so sorry for the late reply and the shortness of it. Real life has been more than a bit hectic at the moment.
