Mark was sat on a ledge feeling the cool breeze come trough the open window. It was a warm day and he would have been outside if it wasn't for most of the school being out there. It was too over crowded for him right now and the castle was quite peaceful except the odd first year who would skip past. That Mark could deal with just fine. He had a lot on his mind recently, with the adoption of Logan Mark felt like he had a lot of responsibility resting on him and he had his NEWTs this term. This term was going to be a rough one that was for sure but at least Mark was not depressed any more. Since he had gotten back together with Alana he had cheered up and life had gotten better. He was living with his cousin and his wife. That meant he could see Lowan when ever he wanted in the holidays and not his little brother was living with him meant they could spend more time together.

Inhaling deeply through his nose Mark could smell the fresh summers air from outside. It as so refreshing after spending the morning in a classroom. At least it had been Potions, a lesson which he quite enjoyed. He just wished that he could drop the boring subjects like Herboligy, subjects like that were the ones which made him fall asleep to the point where he world nearly be in a coma he would be that dead to he world. Still he would he rid of it soon enough , he would be out in the real world and have to get a proper job. He smiled slightly at that thought.

Hilde was sick of studying. The summer weather was calling her, but as soon as she set foot outside of the castle, she realized that everyone had the same idea. Groaning, she flipped her hair a bit as she turned quickly and headed back inside. Now what, she thought, her mind racing as to where she could be alone and not deal with all the insipid little first years. Spotting the stairs, she headed quickly up until she was at the top floor. At least I can feel the breeze even if I am not outside.

As she made her way over to her favorite window, Hilde realized there was someone else sitting there. She rolled her eyes and muttered, "Great," until she really took in who it was. "Hey stranger," she said with a smile as she quickly crossed the stone floor and took a seat on the ledge next to her friend. "How's life?"

Marks thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a girls voice echoing through the hall. It was a familiar one he recognised as soon as he turned his head to check if he was right or not. A smile spreading slowly across his face as he saw Hilde Mark moved over on the ledge to give her a bit more room to sit down on. "Hi hi." He said happily to her. It had been a while since they saw, well since the Yule ball anyway. "Life. Well where to begin. Its a bit better I can safely say that. My out of school life is a steady one although a lot of work is needed to be done right now but hey, hard work pays off right." He said with a chuckle. A bit better was an understatement. His personality now compared to what it was a few months back was a humongous change. "What about you? Anything interesting happening in your life?" He asked her as he crossed his legs in the male fashion. Although he had taken her to the Yule ball they had not really caught up much.

"Not too much interesting...yet," Hilde said, a smirk on her face. She enjoyed spending time with Mark. It was nice to have a male friend that she didn't have to worry about hitting on her or flirting with her seriously. Shane was her one and only love and she didn't want anything to put a damper on that relationship. "The typical stuff is happening. Quidditch. Tormenting a few first years. The basics." She giggled, thinking of her conversation with Eden in the common room where they were determined to annoy any first year that dared to sit in the same area as they were. "How was your break?"

Mark turned his head towards her as sh spoke. He knew when she said yet that she was probably planning something or at least hoping for something fun to happen, although her type of fun and his type of fun were a little different. "Yep the usual stuff then. Sounds like fun." He said with a simile followed by a sigh as he was asked about his own holiday. Where to tart. "Well my holiday was very eventful. spent it with a my cousin, his wife ad his son. Im going trough the adoption of my brother because he is coming to live with us too and my causing was turned in to a werewolf." He said pursing his lips. He never seemed to have a truly boring holiday. There was always something going on in his life to keep him occupied. "Soooo how are classes." He said quickly changing the topic as if what he had just said was no big deal to him

Hilde took in what Mark said. "A werewolf? Wow. That is just wild! And you are adopting your brother? That is huge!" She threw her arm around Mark to give him a sideways hug. "Classes are alright so far. Potions and Herbology are going to be the best I think this term. My classmates seem to be decent. I love how OWLs weeded out the idiots." Hilde was becoming more and more Slytherin in her thinking and really couldn't tolerate anyone that she felt was intellectually inferior to her. Mostly she looked down on Hufflepuffs and Gryffindors, but Mark was a huge exception to that rule. In her eyes, he did not fit the house he was sorted into. She always thought of him more as a Ravenclaw than anything else. "What classes do you have this term?"

Mark nodded at her. It was rpetty cool but he couldn't help but feel sorry for Riely. He knew that had was not handling it as well as he kept making out he was. "Yeah its pretty wild. Not my everyday finding thats for sure. And yeah im adopting Loan. He keeps getting let down by his parents and as a blood brother i hae the right to do it." He said with a sigh as she hugged him. He was glad that she was here for him to talk too. He wlaways liked to share his problems and such rather than keep them inside. He was glad that her lessons were going well and that she didnt have to worry about the lower people dragging her down. He would probably have been one of those people last year. "Im glad to hear your enjoying them. Mine are going ok i guess, im trying extra hard this term because i leave soon so i want to at least get a few good grades." He said with a shrug as he explained. He knew he would pass a few lessons but he wasn't sure about others.

"That's right. You do graduate soon," Hilde said, a frown clouding her features. "Well, that is not a pleasant thought. Well, for me that is." She shoved him lightly with her shoulder. "Now who is going to keep me from stringing up all the first years and hanging them by their toes off the Astronomy Tower?" Hilde couldn't help but tease her friend. Mark was someone she knew she could rely on to be a voice of reason when her Slytherin tendencies took over. He was one of the few boys she knew in the castle that she could trust not to take their friendship to a whole other place, one that would have her boyfriend ready to wield a few unforgivables for.

Mark rolled his eyes as she nudged him. "Im sure Professors will stop you if they knew." He said with a laugh. "And you never know, I may come back as a Professor yet." He said giving her a side ways look. He knew now that his grades wouldn't be good enough to be an Auror, the was for Logan to do. As for him he wanted to be liked his cousin and be a Professor. He wasn't sure what subject he wanted to teach yet but as long as it wasn't one that he hated then it would be fine. He knew his little brother was doing every lesson now so he would teach him no matter what.

"That would be awesome if you were a Professor. Then again," Hilde said, pausing just a moment, "I would have to watch my back even more." She smirked at Mark, then continued. "So, any particular class you are looking at teaching?" As much as Hilde thought it would be awesome to have Mark at the school next year, it might be weird to have him teaching her. Then a thought hit her. If he was here, would it be out of line for a Professor to escort a student to the Yule Ball as friends?

Mark laughed and nodded. "Ah you never know I could just give you special treatment if i was a Prof." He said playfully. He didn't actually know how well he would be at Professing. It was just such an important job and he hoped he would be able to do it right. At least that way he could still see Logan in school. "Urm im not too sure. What ever subjects are available I guess. I cant be too fussy." He said biting his bottom lip as he wondered what she was thinking. Slowly a grin appeared on his face at the thought of two Professors living under the same roof in the same family. They could share stories about students in their lessons. "Do you still want to be a healer?" He asked her curiously
