Damien was glad to be back in Hogwarts. He had had an uneventful holiday. He was going to extra lessons to help with his difficulty with reading and writing. Dyslexia was a pain more then anything. It did explain a lot. Why he hadn't been able to improve his reading and writing even after hours of practice. He hadn't told anyone about his condition. The Professor's had to know obviously, he was given more leeway when it came to assignments and when it came to taking down notes he was also given leeway. Taking down notes was one of the hardest things he had to do because it involved both reading and writing. He had gotten used to it by now. He had to go to private tutors during the summer to help him. Since he was diagnosed so late there wasn't much they could do to improve his condition. Damien was okay with that, he could write music and play music that's all that mattered. He wasn't going to use magic in his future. He was hoping to go professional with his music. He was going to make his way in the music world.

Things with himself and Andrea hadn't improved, still. It was frustrating, almost two years now. He missed her, she was after all one of his best friends. He thought after their dispute in the Great Hall things would have changed, things had changed slightly. He had a feeling that at least she understood where he was coming from. He hadn't seen JazzyMae in a while and he wondered how she was doing. His heart still got butterflies when he saw her but he was worried about her. They hadn't been on the best of terms last time. Damien was singing a song on the North Tower. He was sitting on the ledge, leaning against a pillar. He had one knee, his guitar resting on it. There was a cool breeze, ruffling his hair slightly. He was singing quietly , it was a song called Little Things. He was strumming away quietly, in his own world. This song had had written over the holidays. Truthfully he had had someone in mind as he had been writing it though Damien didn't admit it to himself who that person was.

JazzyMae Della-Robbia had spent most of her time out of school in America with her other siblings. All of them had been a mega pain in the butt. Most were of them were spoiled and arrogant, especially Judas. He hated JazzyMae with a fiery passion. She did not let him get to her though. There was no point in matching anger with anger. JazzyMae had tried to be calm all summer. She did not want to give any of her siblings a good punch in the nose. She was sure that they would freak out that blood had gotten all over their expensive designer clothes. Anthony was always sleeping, so she enjoyed his company the most. He was quiet and not annoying, and he accepted the fact that their father had committed an act of unfaithfulness that hurt both Marie and JazzyMae. JazzyMae walked up to the North Tower. On her way up, she started to hear music playing. She knew the voice. Damien. She knew his singing voice like the back of her hand. She had reached the top, but she tried to stay quiet. She did not want to interrupt his playing.

Damien had been on her mind a lot. She and him had tried to get on good terms with each other, but it was still awkward whenever they saw each other. They both were going through things. He had said that he wanted her to tell him her problems, but she did not want to burden him with the embarrassing truth. Klaus had fallen in love with his brother, and now she was a half veela. Her family life never ceased in the surprises it threw at her. JazzyMae walked closer to Damien and sat next to him. She didn't want to say anything. She just wanted to hear his song. It was heartfelt, and she, herself, could understand the meaning of it. Klaus was graduating this year, so she often found herself wearing tons of red to show him her support. She was going to be on her own from now on.
