Eury didn't really realize how long she'd been working on this little project of hers. For the most part, she'd kept it a secret from well... most people. She'd been thinking for a long time about what to give one of her friends as a gift and then a longer time to actually make it. While it was a bit easier to buy things for most of her friends, it was a little harder for this one. Which is how she came up with the idea of actually making one. Or well... partially. She'd bought a plain satchel. Or well, many satchels. And then she'd asked her mum and her house elf to teach her how to embroider. Sewing had required a lot of patience, mostly because she would often get the patterns or the stitches wrong, and she'd messed up quite a number of satchels. She'd had an ambitious start; she'd wanted to embroider a tiny house elf head, but that had gone down the drain at attempt number 4 before she settled on a simpler green pattern. And of course her friend's name was at the top near the button. Now, months later, she was finally ready! "Mr. Dak!" she called out as soon as she entered the Kitchen, a wrapped gift box in her hand. "I have something for youuu!"

Dakrey appeared in the kitchens at the sound of his name in the familiar voice of Eurydice. She beamed at her with a toothy grin as he saw his friend with a box in her hand. "Miss Eury! What a nice surprise," Dakrey had been busy with preparations for the Valentines feast that he hadn't had the time he usually did to pay his friend a visit.

Eury grinned right back at her house elf friend and presented him with her gift. "Well, I wasn't sure when your birthday was and well, I wasn't sure if you guys had one every year but I figured I'd... here!" she said as she held out the gift box. The wrapper was green and yellow and had gift boxes in it, and she even had a messy bow on top of it to complete the look.

Dakrey didn't expect the box to be for him. House elves didn't celebrate birthdays, they didn't really celebrate anything. "Dakrey doesn't celebrate the day of his birth, though master James does give me the day off every year to celebrate the day I was freed, we even have cake," He smiled as he took the box and placed it on the ground so it would be easier for him to open. He looked down at the embroidered satchel and recognised his own name, one of the very few words he was able to recognise on sight. "Miss Eury got this for me?" He asked picking it up out of the box and placing it over his shoulder.
