Peregrine was sitting down to breakfast when the post came in. To her surprise, a letter to her arrived. Not that she didn't expect letters - she did - but that it appeared to be from Percy specifically as opposed to from her mum.

Hi Perry

Can you hurry up and sneak me into Hogwarts? It's boring without you at home and I want to learn magic too. Have you learned about aliens and their magic yet? You better tell me everything. Mum says you haven't been writing enough so you should write a long letter. I'm building a spaceship but its in your room because it won't fit in mine.

The letter carried on like this for some time, and Peregrine rolled her eyes. "Ugh. Brothers," she said, to no one in particular. Of course she'd probably have to clean the mess Percy was no doubt leaving in her room when she got home for Christmas. "I bet he's not even eating his vegetables. Honestly." Despite that, her toast was duly put aside as she considered what to say in a reply, which she'd wait until she wasn't at breakfast to pen. She could only imagine her Uncle Gaius would be incredibly upset if she was using good parchment at the breakfast table.

Breakfast was always one of his favorite times of day, especially when the full moon was lurking near. He always built up an appetite beforehand and felt as though he would waste away during the day if he didn't have snacks stuffed into the pockets of his robes. But nothing could really beat a big breakfast to start off the day, and Miles and making sure he made the most of it, piling a rather horrendous amount of food onto his plate, having to stand up and lean down the table to actually reach the toast he wanted to get his hands on.

He overheard one of the girls speaking out loud, unable to stop himself from pausing to glance down at his large plate of food and noticing the complete lack of anything green on it. "Vegetables are overrated anyhow," he ended up offering, despite not really being a part of the conversation, finally getting his hands on the toast and sliding it closer for easy access.
