As if
It was turning out to be a warm Summer for the most part, people were wearing shorts nearly everyday although then again they did that most days of the year but that was mostly the tourists more than the natives. Jared had never worn shorts for as long as he could remember, despite coming from England he never really found the weather too warm for his normal dress. Sure he would not wear a jumper if it was really warm, but today was relatively chilly compared to the normal weather and Jared was able to wear his normal clothing. He was laying on a bench in a park, enjoying the sun and the breeze which came with it. He had his red guitar in his hands and was playing a simple tune. He was quite happy with life at the moment, starting his own music classes they had been quite popular, mostly because there was not many music classes around where he lived. He felt like singing but he was not sure if he wanted to just yet, there were a few people around and he didn't want to draw much attention to himself right now. He continued to play the tune but began to play a little faster now, just for something different to do

It had been a long week for young Zac Mathews, what with having started at Durmstrang this week, and whilst finding his way around he had also managed to arrange seeing Izzy to meet her Aunt's. But Zac had thoroughly enjoyed the week and was now looking forward to some quality, musical time with his guitar.

He walked through the park with his guitar strapped around him and was quite happy to spot another guy, who looked a bit older than Zac, led on the bench playing his guitar. Zac approached him with a nervous smile, he had always been shy, but Izzy had done so much for him, that he now had the confidence to approach new-people and talk to them like he was about to. "Hey, nice playing man." He told the guy with an impressed smile.

As Jared moved his fingers around on the cords he looked up at the boy who was complementing his playing skills. He gave the boy a small smile before answering him. "Thanks. This is just something simple, to keep my hands busy you know. I can play a lot better than this." He said putting a flat hand on the string to stop the sound. He spotted the other guys guitar and spoke. "You any good on that?" He asked wondering if this younger boy was good or not. Jared had been playing since he was a child and music was his life, everyday he practiced so he was able to say that he was good with out coming off as vain. The fact that he was teaching it well to kids showed that he knew a thing or two about music. He taught guitar and piano at the moment although he could play drums too but they were not as popular as the other two. He was just grateful for the money which was now coming his way, it was well needed and could go towards equipment seeing as he did not have an endless supply of musical instruments

Zac smiled as the guy replied to him. He knew that he was only playing simple stuff, but sometimes the more simple stuff was the best material for a song. Zac knew that from song-writing himself. "Im sure you can.....even that sounded awesome." He said to him with a friendly voice before shying away slightly with a nervous smile at the guys question. "Well I've been playing for about a year now....and I've loved playing the guitar ever since.....so I guess I'm alright....." He told the guy. Zac was putting himself down again, for a 14 Year-Old Kid who had only been playing the guitar for a year, Zac was a damn good guitarist, and his singing wasn't so bad either.

Zac swung his guitar round so he could play it. He started playing a Solo which he had learnt just recently. It wasn't quite perfect yet, but it was good enough for young Zac. He loved the bluesy type of music, but Zac could learn to like anything that was musical. "So.....yeah....." He said, not really wanting to be a fuss of over it, in Zac's eyes, it was just a little solo in a big musical-world. Zac had a passion for music and wanted to live and breath it into his future. That was Zac's ambition, he just needed the confidence to be able to say that he was good enough to do it now.

Jared smiled slightly to himself. He had to be good, being a teacher after all it did help matters know what to do. "When i was in school my grades were never great because i used to spend all my time playing my music and never doing homework. It gave a me few detentions along the way but the Professors soon gave up." He said with a laugh at the memories of school. He had kept his room mates awake at night on more than one occasion because of his playing but he didn't care, he loved music and it had all worked out for him now so at least it had paid off. "Iv been playing before my age was in double digits. When i was five my dad bought me a guitar for Christmas, once i picked it up i never put it back down, thirteen years later and im still obsessed with it." He said with another slight laugh. Music had been the only thing which had interested him long enough to want to keep at it like this.

As the boy began to play Jared smiled. For a boy who had only been playing for a year it was okay. He could pick up on a few errors but again, only a year. "Thats pretty good. Check this out though." He said positioning his eletric guitar back and began to play a quick tune. Again it was nothing difficult for him to do but it was pretty advanced. He had never really spent his time doing short solo's like that, often long songs which he would later have to sing in front of a large audience. "What do you think?" He asked wondering if he had impressed the boy with his skills.

Zac was glad that he had found a guy who shared an interest in the guitar with him. Yes he had the band at Durmstrang, but he couldn't completely show-off his skills then, he just played with them, so Zac was glad to find someone outside of school who he could jam with when he was out. He listened to what the guy had to say and was happy to her his story about how he got ino playing the guitar in the first-place. "Wow mate that's pretty cool, my parents always wanted me to do well Academically in the Muggle-World, and I was pretty good at getting the grades, but I didn't enjoy it, so the guitar has kind of been my Number-One love ever since.....except my girlfriend kind-of matches up to it nowadays....." He joked with a nervous laugh.

Zac thanked the guy for the compliment about his playing before listening to the guy play himself. "That's Great!!!" He said to the the guy, before sitting down on the bench. "I don't think I introduced myself before.....I'm Zac.....14 Year-Old Durmstrang." He told the friendly stranger happily. "And you are? And don't say the music-man.....that's an old-school joke these-days." He began to joke again as a slightly more relaxed laugh sounded from the back of Zac's throat.

As Jared listened to the boy speak he heard the word muggle which he had used easily in his sentence so he guessed that the boy was a wizard like him then. That made it easier to talk to him although Jared not being much involved in magic it was not exactly a turning point. If anything he was more a muggle than wizard, sure he was a half blood and had gone to a wizarding school but magic was just there to make some tasks easier. He spent more time in the muggle world touring and what not. "Well my mum was a muggle and my dad a wizard so i had a choice in which life style i wanted. I went to a muggle primary school and a wizarding secondary school, Beauxbatons. But my love of music put more in to the muggle world than my tolerance with magic. I did gigs around the muggle world so blending in was more natural and over time its just who i am now." He explained placing his guitar leaning upwards against the bench after he had finished his small jam.

He smiled as the boy said it was great. If he thought that was good he should wait until he heard some of the other things Jared could do, he would be gob-smacked. "Thanks." He said quickly before answering his introduction with a chuckled. "Iv never been one for those sorts of jokes. Im Jared. Music teacher and professional musician. As in doing tours around different countries not just the teacher thing making me a professional." He said with a smile. He was quite proud of himself now he was able to do what he most loved and was getting paid for it. It was a really great feeling considering so many people worked their whole lives doing a job which they did not enjoy

Zac was glad to hear about the guys background. He was always interested in people's past.....generally, someone's past revealed something about the way they were now, and music being more of a muggle thing, this theory worked perfectly with Jared. "That sounds great, the muggles taste in music is pretty good.....I've heard some of it before....." He trailed off a little awkwardly.

Zac was also interested to hear that this guy was a music-teacher, as well as playing Professionally, he could be useful for the future. "Aww wow, it's like.....my dream to go Professional!!!" Zac told the guy in a rather youthful kind of way. Zac's ambition in life was to be the lead-guitarist in a world-wide famous band. The band he had at Durmstrang would do him for now, just as a starting point, but Zac would only settle as a Bass-Player whilst he was at Durmstrang. When he finished there, he wanted to explore the world and see where that took him. But Zac knew that he needed the confidence to be built-up before any of that dream could even begin to happen.
