Erik stared up into the sky, lying across one of the benches in the stands. The sun kept him nice and toasty, like he imagined a stack of pancakes would feel in an oven on low heat.
He should've been up in the clouds and not watching them pass by. He'd come into Hogwarts New Zealand years ago, prepared to be a star and ready to pummel all the other houses for the Quidditch Cup. Now he was resigned to the fact that he'd never play the game. Nobody wanted his shoddy flying skills or his dying enthusiasm. Nevertheless, it was all right, sometimes, to look back on old dreams. A part of him wanted to bring Incendio to the broom shed, to avenge the boy who'd never made the team, while the other part decided it was better to not move an inch. After all, if he was skipping Charms class, what was the point of practicing the material? That'd be bad form for this slacker.
