Mary Paige wasn't one to sneak out of the dorms, but she hadn't been very hungry during the feast. Some food she'd gotten from the train trolley hadn't settled well with her stomach, but now that she was feeling better, she knew she couldn't wait until morning to grab something to eat. Her stomach kept grumbling as she rolled around in her bed. Throwing on some slippers and her robe, she headed down a few flights of stairs and snuck into the kitchen. She'd never been there before, but her brother had shown her the entrance last year after his late night shenanigans. It was busier than she thought it would be, even at this time of night, but the house elves were still busy cleaning up from the feast and looked like they were preparing for the morning. Mary Paige wasn't sure whether she should ask for some food or help herself so she just stood there for a moment, questioning whether she could actually wait until breakfast.

Mania had made a few trips to the kitchens in the past for a midnight snack, but mostly she tried to keep her bedside drawer stocked with them. The fourth year had a tendency to get hungry in the middle of the night and often snacked while others slept. She'd been too busy avoiding Alexander for the last few weeks and avoiding her mothers attempts to get them to hang out to actually remember to go snack shopping for the year ahead. That was why the fourth year now stood at the doors to the kitchen and stared at the elves that were doing their work. A little ahead of her she noted another student and made her way over to the girl. "You got hungry after bedtime as well?" She asked as she stopped next to the girl, glancing at her Nia noted that it was the girl that had transferred into her year last year. Mary Paige her name was, she was sure of it.

Mary Paige turned around to see another student and was worried for a second that it was a prefect. She didn't want to get in trouble on her first night back. Thankfully, it was somebody from her class. She was familiar enough with her name but had not really spoken to the girl. "Yeah, I didn't eat much at the feast," she said, looking around and tightening her robe. "Have you been here before? I'm not sure what to do. Do we ask the elves or just help ourselves?" Mary Paige questioned, hoping that Mania had a better idea of how to sneak a snack.
