The Basics
Character's Name: Lapis Lazuli
Name Meaning: A dark blue semiprecious stone.
Character's Birthdate: 13 August 2014
Hometown: Dunedin, New Zealand
Blood Status: Lapis's mother suspects they are pureblood, however neither is certain about this.
Wand: 13" willow with essence of powdered lapis lazuli. This wand is a family heirloom, left to Lapis by her (deceased) great aunt, Eronele Lazuli.
Hogwarts House: Ravenclaw
Appearance
Hair: Straight, shoulder-length, and black.
Eyes: Deep blue; the colour of the precious stone Lapis Lazuli is named after.
Height: Tall for her age.
Style: Lapis likes to wear unusual clothes in bright colours, and flowing skirts.
Other Distinguishing Features: A lapis lazuli pendant, given to Lapis by her father, which she never takes off. Also, Lapis is left handed.
A Little Deeper
Personality: Lapis is odd and proud of it, and never afraid to voice her opinion. She is quiet (usually), stubborn, and insatiably curious about almost everything.
History: Lapis has lived in Dunedin all her life, and had a relatively peaceful childhood. She has magical parents on both sides, so knew about magic from an early age. In 2020, when Lapis was seven, her father Lorenzo Lazuli died of what she thought at the time was a disease. His death tore the family apart, and Lapis now has an awkward relationship with her mother Esmerelda. This was made worse by the devastating revelation that Lorenzo was in fact murdered by Esmerelda, who is now a Death Eater. Lapis was horrified by this, and wants nothing to do with the Dark Arts.
