Veronica had been literally sick with all this confusion in her head for the past one and half week. She knew she had been at fault when she had drunk and snogged Enzo hurting her boyfriend and crushing his heart but she had suffered confusion much long and she had realized it was effecting her grades. The only solution that came to her mind was to sort things out with Zac. She had to know whether he wanted a break up and never talk, break up and be friends or stay together. She was hoping with crossed fingers that he would still want to continue the relationship with her.

It was their weekend trip to the village and Veronica had planned to take Zac with her so that they would have some time to themselves and sort out matters. She walked into his room and took out some clothes for him, a cute white shirt and blue jeans and asked him to get dressed. "Yeah, I'm kidnapping you and if you say no then Kenneth and Joshua will help me with that" she said with a wink as she waited for him to get ready.

Zac had been lying on his bed for the whole day, he had missed being with Veronica but he still couldn't trust her especially after the break up. She broke his heart deeply, Zac had been spending his time alone in his room and didn't want to get out and spend time with the others. His grades were alright, he had been focusing on it lately, that was the only thing that could distract him from her. Even though he was heartbroken, he still loved her although he wouldn't admit it.

Students were suppose to get ready and go to the village with their friends but Zac weren't expecting that. He stayed on his bed sleeping not caring about anything around him. He was going to spend his time in the library doing a research and not pull pranks. His personality had changed since the day he broke up with Veronica. Unexpectedly, he was awaken by a voice, he didn't know who she/ he was, his eyes were shut and he buried his head on the pillow. "Joshua get out" He muttered from the pillow. "Let me sleep" He said still shutting his eyes and continue sleeping.

Veronica was about to walk out of his room giving him some time to change his clothes and freshen up when she realized that Zac called her Joshua. She laughed and turned back seeing Zac shutting his eyes and go to sleep. "Zac.."she said slowly as she went to sit by his bed. "It's not Josh, its me"she said looking at his cute face that seemed more cuter when he was asleep. Absentmindedly she ran her hand through his hair with a smile on her face as she waited for Zac to wake up.

Zac didn't realize that the girl was Veronica until she ran her hand through his hair, she had the softest hand he could ever remember. "SWEET MOTHER MERLIN!" He shouted as he widen his eyes looking at her. "W...Wh...What are you doing here?" He asked and covered his mouth and yawned. Zac was extremely happy that he could meet Veronica and that she still loved him, well if she didn't then why would she wake him up?

The calender beside his bed caught his attention. "Oh... The trip to the village?" He shut his eyes and bumped himself to the bed. "Come here" He pulled her with him not letting her go, it felt good to be with Veronica again although they weren't together... Well Zac haven't ask her to be his girlfriend after the breakup. He didn't want to get up, he was enjoying sleeping but he would manage to get up soon knowing that Veronica would really ask Kenneth to wake him up.

Veronica almost jumped as Zac shouted. She was going to run away but when his tone softened she smiled watching him yawn. "Yeah..I was wondering if you wanted to go...together?"she asked him with a slight blush. Veronica hadn't expected to be hugged but she was happy being in his arms again. She wrapped her arms around him and the scent of him made her smile.Just at that minute someone entered the room, it was Josh.

Veronica pulled back, her cheeks having turned crimson as she said "I don't think we'll need your services. Thanks." She smiled at him and caught Josh winking as he closed the door. Veronica turned to Zac and said "I'll wait in the common room so you can get ready."

Zac groaned and stood up walking to his bathroom and clean himself, then he opened the wardrobe and took a white polo shirt instead of wearing the white T-shirt that Veronica took and put on his jeans. He grabbed a thin coat since it was still windy out side and put on a sneakers of his. Before he leave the room of his, he spotted a picture of him and his sister, many guys who didn't know Sally would think that she was his girlfriend. He let out a small chuckle and made his way to the common room.

He spotted Veronica in the common room and walk toward her. He wasn't going to make a physical contact with her, he felt bad that he did that earlier. He didn't know if he should be happy or not, but deep inside he was. "Where to go?" He slid his hand to his pocket and asked her casually.

Veronica waited in the common room reading her abused copy of The Host which was her favorite novel. When Zac appeared she watched him ask her where they were heading. She knew Zac to well to know that he was back to his rigid self but she was happy about receiving the hug earlier. "I thought we might hit the village and hangout together" she told him noticing that he hadn't put on the shirt she had picked. Well, what did you expect? she asked herself with a little sigh. She could try to be normal but what had been done would leave a mark no matter how hard she tried to erase it.She met his gaze and then made her way out of the common room.

Zac nodded and followed Veronica, he knew that they were going to the Village but he wanted to break the awkward silence. "Alright... I guess" He shrugged and walk beside her feeling awkward, he wanted to be with her and away from her in the same time, if Joshua was there he could probably cope with that but too bad he wasn't there. His heart started to race faster as he walk along with her. He kept his hand deep inside his pocket, he didn't feel comfortable around her and he didn't know why.

"So... Where in the village? Is Joshua coming?" He regretted asking if Joshua would come or not, he knew that most Veronica wouldn't like it, but he wasn't sure but if Veronica had the same way of thinking as Sally then she wouldn't like it since she wanted to be with him not someone else. Well at least that's what he thought.

As the entered the village, a smile formed on Veronica's lips. She had never been on a village trip with Zac before so she was hoping that today would be fun but she was a little unsure under the given circumstances. "No, he isn't" Veronica told Zac wondering why he was under the impression that she would like sorting out matters in Joshua's presence. Her eyes moved to the small restaurant that sold some bakery food and butterbeers.

"Would you like a butterbeer?"she asked trying to be as causal as possible.Maybe Zac would want to go back and not be with her, she couldn't know. She had plans of talking about it once they took a butterbeer as if that was going to improve the situation.

Zac didn't know where they were heading but suddenly a small restaurant appear on his sight. He walk toward it and opened the door so that Veronica could enter and followed her to wherever she wanted to sit or go. "Erm... Sure" He said awkwardly, he felt so awkward that he wanted to run away and bumped him self to the wall, he didn't know why he felt like this. He wasn't in the mood of anything not even eating or drinking. "Sorry" He muttered as he look away.

His heart beat faster and his hand started to be sweaty, he took a tissue in front of him and held it tightly. He was very happy, very sad, and very disappointed at the same time. "I... I don... Don't know why I'm acting like this" He forced him self to smile and threw his arms to the air and fold it. He placed his arms on the table and stared on it, he was nervous around her and he didn't know why.

As they walked towards a table Zac hit the wall which seemed very out of place. Veronica could sense his nervousness and confusion and that seemed very wrong. They were a couple, well she wasn't sure if they had broken up but they were still friends and Zac couldn't be acting like they were strangers. She took a seat and looked at Zac. His words were just a proof of his nervousness and his being uncomfortable around her.

She looked at him and followed his gaze which ended on his hand. She placed her hand on his and looked at him as she said "Relax." Giving him a smile hoping it would make him feel better she ordered two butterbeers. "Zac..it's okay. You don't have to worry yourself over this" she told him looking at her hand that still held his. "Listen to your heart" she said hoping that would help him. If there was only hatred in his heart he would be here with her, if there was anger and the will to not forgive and forget then they wouldn't be together but if there was love and care then he would forgive her and in doing so relieve himself and herself from the suffering that had stuck with them from the past one and half week.

Zac didn't know why he would act stupid in front of Veronica, he didn't want to hurt her he didn't want her to go but he still couldn't forgive her 100%. "My heart beats faster every time I see your face" He smiled and look at her in the eye. "I want to do this" He said softly and looked away, he could see some familiar faces in that place. "Help me" He said softly and held the tissue tightly.

The day when he saw his girlfriend snogging other boy traumatized him but it wasn't entirely Veronica's fault, she was drunk and there was nothing she could do. If Zac was in her position he would probably do the same thing but it was impossible, he wouldn't drink too much. He then felt a hand placed on his, he held it gently and eyed her "I... I don't... Nevermind" He couldn't finish the sentence coz he didn't know what to say.

Veronica smiled when she heard him say that his heart beat faster every time he saw her. However the happiness didn't last much longer as she noticed the sorrow in his tone as he asked her to help him. She sipped her butterbeer and then said with some confidence in her voice. "Zac, you know I love you and that you love me. By being confused and traumatized over the past will just hurt both of us more. I think we should move on" she spoke to him looking into his eyes with hope that she would have to say no more because she wouldn't have the strength to be more strong and to help him.

Zac eyed her and smile he couldn't reply her, even though he loved her he wouldn't tell her. He took a butterbeer of his and drank it. He didn't know what to say to her, he was trying to act normally but he felt awkward and he wanted to get rid of that feeling. He knew what Veronica said was right and he wanted to move on but it was easy for her to say that because it was Veronica who cheated on him and Zac was the victim. "I'll try" He said softly as he look at her in the eye.

"Thanks" she said returning the smile as she gazed into his eyes and was lost there for a minute. Veronica sipped some more butterbeer as she asked him "So what have you been up to?" Veronica had been trying to find relief and friendship wherever she could in the past one and half week. She had made some new friends and was concentrating on her painting skills and practicing. "This one time I was in the North Tower and I was painting the view of the grounds and the thing turned out very nicely. So I have been painting and practicing my art skills" she told Zac hoping she could turn the conversation to some light topics. She did want to mention and explain him about the duel between her and Sunako Wanatuki but maybe this wasn't the right time and it wasn't like he didn't know about it since the whole fifth year had been present when the duel took place.

Zac's mood was lightened up, thanks to Veronica who keep up with the causal conversation. He wasn't a big fan of art, Sally should be but not Zac. "Well I've been reading in the library" He chuckle, he couldn't believe that he was checking on the textbooks in the library. Books used to be his worst nightmare but since the broke up, it was the only thing that had been distracting him. "And you know what? I like it" He laughed. Pranks used to be the only thing that he would do during weekend but Veronica had changed his life, either it was better or worse, he wasn't sure. "So what did you tell Joshua earlier?" He chuckled remembering what she said earlier in his bedroom.

Veronica laughed together with Zac when he mentioned that he had started liking books. "Well, that's a good thing" she said with a smile. Atleast they had both been busy trying to avoid loneliness rather than planning on stupid ideas of hurting each other which of course neither could do since they loved each other. She finished her butterbeer and then replied "Well, I had told Ken about what had happened and he and Joshua had said they would help if I needed anything" she said with a smirk remembering her conversation with Ken last night in the tower.

"So I thought I'd ask them to help me in case you...wouldn't wa..ana talk wi..d me" she said her voice breaking as she shivered at the thought of that idea as a sadness came to her face.

((OOC: I want a little dramaaaa heehe))

By the look on Veronica's face, Zac knew that she was sad. Zac didn't know how to react, he was slightly mad with Veronica's idea which was forcing other people if they didn't want to. "What?" He asked disbelievingly. "Veronica... You know that I talk to anyone including those that I hate" He said remembering a friend of his who had been a jerk at all time. "And if I don't want to talk to you, you'll get them in my room and make them force me?" He lifted his eyebrow and stood up leaving the table. "I'll be in the castle if you need me" He said and leave the place, he walk toward the bench outside and sat. He knew that Veronica could come after him whenever she want.

(okay)

Veronica watched Zac wondering how she would react. She was very surprised to see him offended. "I didn't mean it that way" she called as Zac stood up and said he would be in the castle if she needed him. People all around them were looking at Veronica from whose eyes filled with tears. Couldn't Zac see the part of how much he meant to her and instead point out the mistake in her ways of trying to talk to him? She couldn't stand there with all the eyes looking at her and she wanted to explain Zac that her intentions were not bad.

She had come to the trip thinking it would be fun and everything would be back to normal. How could you be so stupid? Nothing has ever been normal with you! she reminded herself as she walked out of the restaurant crying. Just as she was about to make her way to the castle she her eyes spotted Zac sitting on a bench. She walked towards him, slowly since she was shaking and crying. "Zac...I didn't mean..." just as those words escaped her mouth she felt the whole world going black and then she collapsed. Veronica was one of the most physically weak person in the school and the situation could just get worse since she didn't have dinner last night and nor did she have a breakfast except for the butterbeer.

Zac rested on the bench for a while, he couldn't make it and he couldn't forget what happen. This was why he didn't want to have a girlfriend, he was scared of breakups, he hated the feeling of it. Suddenly he heard Veronica's voice, it made him sad, he loved her but he still couldn't forgive her. "I'm... I... I'm sorry... I can't do it" He muttered as he stare at the cold floor and then stood up facing her. "Don't cry" He wiped her tears, he remember having a bread in his pocket. He brought it up and gave it to her "Here, you need it more than I do" He opened the plastic and handed her the bread. "I will ALWAYS love you" He let out a small sad smile, he couldn't make her his again he was too disappointed but he swore to himself that he would be there for her no matter what happen even though they were no longer together.

Veronica didn't know where she was for a while until she heard Zac's voice and felt his familiar touch. She opened her eyes slowly and found herself on the ground. "Thanks" she said wiping away her tears and accepting the bread that he gave her.Veronica's head was spinning and if she would stay here for one more minute she would throw up or something or probably faint again. "I'll...go" she said as she picked up her purse and started walking back to the castle not caring about her best dress that was covered in sand and dust because that hardly mattered when compared to how much her heart was broken.
