Emrys was having a rough semester. He was just- angry all the time, upset and hurt by the unexpected break up with Marnie. He wasn't even sure why he was mad. He wasn't sure if he was upset by the way she'd blindsided him, upset that she'd started the relationship only to run off when she'd lost interest in him. Or if he was just upset because he missed her but he was too mad at her to even talk to her. He couldn't stay in the dorms, or the common room, or go to the gardens, so eventually he'd just ended up out at the lake. He was trying to burn off some of his pent up emotions and he'd started skipping rocks, throwing them a little harder than he really needed to be but enjoying that little extra spin it put on his throws.
