Just Hanging Out

[Athena Rey-Martinez]

It was Athena's first dance and she had no idea how to feel about it, as she had never thought about such events before Hogwarts. She was excited to be spending the night with her best friends and her brother though, so there was that to look forward to. Hopefully there was not going to be any sort of drama when she arrived, considering it was her first semester at the school and she'd already made one, maybe two enemies. She didn't want to think about that though, if the girl was there as long as both girls stayed with their own friends Athena would be cool with it.

She had made a plan to meet with her brother and Jasmine in the common room before heading to the Yule Ball, so she put on her dress that her mother had gotten her for her birthday the previous year and let her hair down before smiling. Athena wasn't in the phase of make up, therefore she didn't put any on. She grinned when she was done, and her and Jasmine met Antonio downstairs before they headed to the great hall together. "I'm going to get something to drink, you guys want anything?" She asked them. "Hey, there's Grayson," she nudged Jasmine in case she hadn't seen him, though she probably had. Athena wondered how it must feel not to have your twin in the same house, but got rid of the thought, she didn't want to dwell on it. Besides, they were all friends and the girl hoped that would be the case for a long time.

Jasmine was so excited for her very first Yule Ball. She would be going with her brother and her two very closest friends, Athena and Antonio. She was still getting used to being in a seperate house to her brother and although she didn't like it any more than the first night they were seperated she was slowly getting accustomed to making her own friends and being around them more than Grayson. The twins still found time to see each other, however, and not just in classes. Tonight was no exception as the Rey-Martinez twins and the Wolfe twins decided that they would attend the Yule Ball together.

After Athena and Jasmine had finished getting ready together they met Antionio in the Slytherin Common Room and then walked down to the Great Hall together. Jasmine loved spending time with the Rey-Martinez twins and loved them both equally and loved spending time with them. She couldn't wait for them all to have the best time at the ball together.

She nodded at Athena's question "I'd love a drink thank you!" she grinned at her best friend before scanning the room for her brother which didn't take long as she could spot Grayson a mile off. "Gray!!!" she shouted over to her brother while waving her arms above her head. She grinned as her brother walked towards her and she threw her hands around his shoulders. "You look amazing! Do you like my dress?" she said picking up the sides and twirling. "Athena's gone to get drinks, do you want anything?" she asked her brother.

Antonio had to admit that he was rather looking forward to the Yule Ball. He was going the ball in a group consisting of his sister and their friend Jasmine and her brother Grayson. Antonio felt like he knew a lot about Grayson as Jasmine liked to talk a lot about her brother. He understood the twin bond as he was one himself but often the Slytherin would find himself wishing she would talk about something, anything else. He wanted to get to know her better, not just her brother. Antonio changed into his suit and checked himself out in the mirror in the first year's dorm. He looked good and he had a good feeling that the night would be a good one.

The girls were waiting for him when he made his way down to the common room, Antonio smiled at them both. "Jasmine you look lovely," He smiled at her before turning his attention to his sister. "You look okay too sis," He smirked at her. The three of them made their way to the Great hall for the dance. Antonio was quite impressed by the decorations, it was almost enough to make him forget it was summer. Athena broke him from his trance when she told them she was getting to get drinks, Antonio nodded "Pumpkin juice," He said calmly and before he could dwell too much on being alone with Jasmine, Athena pointed out the arrival of her brother Grayson. Antonio turned and nodded to the Gryffindor as Jasmine excitedly made her way over to him.

It felt like an eternity since Grayson had seen his sister so he had been looking forward to going to the Yule ball where he would be seeing her along with two of her closest friends in Slytherin. So far he had only met Athena and hadn't heard much about her brother Antonio though he wasn't thrilled at the thought of the boy being a 'close friend' of Jasmine. As the only Gryffindor in the group, he changed into his outfit alone in the dorm and made his way through the common room as he exited through the portrait hole and made his way to the Great Hall.

Grayson was a little late to the ball was in full swing once he entered the hall. It was beautifully decorated, the wintery decorations a sharp contrast to the warm summer air that was outside. Grayson looked around the room hoping to spot his sister but it seemed she spotted him first as out of nowhere she appeared and flung her arms around his shoulders. "Hey Jazz," Grayson said almost laughing as he kept himself upright. "You look amazing," He said smiling at his sister. At the mention of Athena and drinks Grayson raised his head to see if he could spot the blonde. "I'll go help her, there's four of us and she only has two hands, then I need to meet this Antonio," He said trying to sound casual about it, though he would be keeping an eye on his sisters fellow Slytherin.

"Need a hand?" Grayson asked Athena as he made his way to the drinks table where the blonde was gathering refreshments for the group. He grabbed a pumpkin juice for himself and offered his free hand to Athena, "I'll take Jazz's drink," Grayson offered smiling at the girl.

As soon as Jasmine headed off to greet her brother, she went to get the drinks as promised, quickly filling up their glasses with pumpkin juice. It seemed that they all wanted to have the same thing which made Athena smile in content. She was trying to figure out how she would carry all of the drinks, considering she did not want anyone else to take them if she had to do two trips, but the girl didn't have to dwell much longer on it as someone asked her if she needed help.

Athena turned around and her eyes brightened when she saw Grayson offering a hand. "Thank you," she said brightly, handing him Jazzy's drink and after they were both holding their own cups Athena made her way to her brother and Jasmine, assuming Grayson would follow her to the group, before giving her twin his drink. It was the first time he would properly meet Grayson and Athena was excited for her brother. She wasn't exactly sure whether he made friends yet, so she couldn't wait to see how this would turn out.

She tried to ignore how cute Jasmine's brother looked, although this wasn't the first time she was meeting him and they were friends she couldn't help but to steal glances every once in a while. The blonde hoped he wouldn't notice. Actually, she hoped Antonio didn't notice either. It might make him wary of Jazz's brother which the Slytherin certainly didn't want to happen. "So what do you guys think of the ball so far?" She asked, curious to see what they thought. To Athena dances were a bit lame but she took any opportunity she could to spend with her friends outside of the common room and classes. She took small sips of her drink, finally taking in all the decorations and the music. It wasn't so bad.
