Athena didn't particularly care for the company of others so she never spent much time in the common room or any other area where large amounts of students gathered. She was soft spoken and fairly shy and she much preferred to be alone than be in the company of others. It wasn't that Athena didn't like her fellow Slytherins, most of them were pure bloods which made them ok in her book, but she had never bothered to get to know anyone. When Athena wanted company, she had always sought out her sister or brother. They provided her with all the companionship that she needed, and when they weren't around she found her cousins. With each passing year, however, she had fewer family members around and the fourth year knew that she would have to become more independent. Athena always missed her father when she was in school. He was one of her favorite people and even though he and Levi sometimes didn't get along well, Athena adored the man. He was tall, strong and he protected his family. That was who Athena was writing to as she sat in a far corner in the library.

Turning the lamp on, Athena continued to write, asking her father if there were any updates regarding Levi and Ariah. Athena really liked her brother's fiance and was glad that she was becoming a member of the family. Signing her name, Athena placed the letter in an envelope and placed it in her notebook so she could send it in the morning. Getting up, Athena packed her bag and left out a research book. She headed for the shelf where she had retrieved it from earlier and bent down to put it back. Athena didn't really like to read unless something caught her eye. The book she'd just put back had not been a book that interested her at all. It was necessary for her homework though.

Kiara Tine sighed as she looked at the time. It was quite late and she had been studying in the library since lunch time. She had so much homework for Potions and for Muggle Studies. It was unbearable. She shook her head and closed the three books she had open on the desk. She was in one of the far corners of the library allowing a shelf to hide her from the prying eyes of others. She didn't like to study where people were watching. She didn't really like studying at all really, but sometimes such activities had to be done. She packed up her quills and inks and placed them in her bag. She was alittle tired by now. She placed her books in the bag along with the items and tapped the light off. She didn't like all this work and so when she thought about the prospect of getting to her nice warm bed and sighed in happiness. She then proceeded to get up out of her desky area and head for the door. However as she headed there she noticed that she was not alone. She tilted her head and was relieved to see that it was indeed another Slytherin. She smiled and walked over to the girl. She was alittle tired and the way the girl was facing made it difficult for Kiara to see her face. She shrugged, who cared anyway. She leaned against one of the surrounding bookshelves and watched the girl for a moment before clearing her throat and making her presence known. "I didn't frighten you did I?" She asked in a french accent before pulling her hand through her thick hair. "I hadn't noticed anyone else was here..." She added in a tone that sent ice down most people spines.
I apologise that it is small. I don't have much inspiration at the moment.

Hearing someone clearing their throat, Athena turned her head towards the sound. She already knew that it was a girl even before she spoke. Straightening to her full height, the pureblood shook her head. "No...you didn't" she said. It wasn't until after that she wondered if the girl was intending on scaring her. If that was her purpose, she hadn't succeeded. After everything Athena had been through when she was younger, she didn't scare easily. Well, that wasn't exactly true but she was pretty good at hiding her fear from people who didn't know her well. Her tone wasn't exactly friendly; in fact, it was pretty much the opposite. Adjusting the strap of her bag, Athena spoke, her tone one that was fairly normal for her, fairly low and calm sounding. " I was actually just leaving."

She took another long look at the girl in front of her and then it dawned on her. "You're the new one in the dorm" she stated matter-of-factly. There were many girls sharing the fourth year Slytherin dorm. This girl was in fact a Slytherin, but she'd transferred from another school or something. Athena hadn't bothered to listen to the gossip that usually came when new students arrived so she couldn't even recall her name. She just knew that they slept in the same room and were in several of the same classes.

Kiara watched the girl as she stood up to her full height and spoke. So she hadn't scared the girl. Oh well, it wasn't exactly intended, but it wold have been welcomed. It seemed she was losing her touch. She leaned into the bookcase more and surveyed the girl infront of her. She had tht demeanour that Kiara was all to familiar with. This girl was either from a very rich family, or she was a pure-blood. Or very likely she was both. Kiara shrugged when the girl said she was just leaving. Though on the inside, she did actually care. Being new to the school meant she didn't know anyone. It had only been a short time and she had not really made any friends yet. One more friends would be okay. She was just tired and when she was tired she was crabby. She shook her head again and smiled slightly at the girl. She had just now realised that she was a transfer. Kiara didn't really know the girl, as was all but pointed out by the other Slytherin by the fact that she was adressed as 'The new one in the dorm.' but she didn't overly mind. She'd been called worse things in her life. She ran her hand through her hair again before pulling it around to blanket her shoulders. "Oui, that I am. Transferred from Beauxbatons this year." She replied wondering if she would know this girls family by name. She did know the names of quite a few rich pureblooded families. Though she had never really associated much with them. Obviously becase she was not a pureblood. But some of her friends in Beauxbatons had buisness with them at one point or another. "You read the Rumor has it Magazine?" She asked for something to say. She wasn't one for small talk usually. But she had found the contents of the magazine entertaining. So she figured she would bring it up. She especially wanted to hear the girls thoughts about the Professors.

Athena listened as the girl stated that she had come from Beauxbatons. She knew that was one of the other wizarding schools, but she also knew that she would not have been a student at that school. There were too many part veela students there. If anything, she figured she would have become a Durmstrang student. Some of her cousins were there and it was thought to be a good, strong school by many purebloods because of its curriculum.

When the girl asked about the school magazine, Athena let out a small chuckle. She found the magazine to be a little ridiculous but fun nevertheless. Last year, an article had been written about her brother that was crazy. "I definitely did. I thought it was pretty funny, especially the article about my...Professor Styx and Snow. That can't be true." She had been about to say her uncle but she didn't want this girl to think she got some kind of favoritism because she was related to him because she didn't. "What did you think?" she asked her roommate.

Kiara was slightly more relaxed when the girl answered her question and seemed to agree with her in that it hhad bbeen rather hilarious. Both she and Justin had found themselves laughing about it later. It was one of those things that just couldn't be true under any circumstances. The articles were definately ridiculous and she was rather happy that she could get some entertainment from others sorrow, ni matter how inaccurate the silly thing proved to be.She nodded in agreement with the girl. The most ridiculous article of course had to be the one about Professors Styx and Snow. The very idea of this pairing sent weird wisps of humour through the young girls belly. It wasn't that Snow was repulsive, but the simple fact that she was way to nice for the Slytherin Alumni. No one, not even Kiara ever wanted to gget a detention from him. She might have had a crush on the man, but that didn't mean she wanted to make him angry just to spend time with him. No way, she wasn't that stupid. Not like that Aleyha girl that some often talked about who got kicked out of school for attacking a teacher, although how appropriate or true that statement was, is unclear due to the fact that it is a rumour that has been around for quite a long time. Kiara smirked and thought again about the aarticle. "Well I was rather interested in the article pertaining to one Andy Hydran, he was called a scared cat, I believe. The feinter." She answered, chuckling uncontrollably. "He may be the cousin of my best friend, but boy, that's funny." She finished looking up for the girls reaction.

Athena rolled her eyes as Kiara spoke about the boy in their class who was always on the verge of fainting. He was a quivering mess. "Did you see him in class the other day? I thought we were going to have a death in the classroom when Professor Styx looked in his direction" she said, shaking her head slightly. Athena thought that she was quiet and fairly meek, but this Ravenclaw took that to a whole other level. She wouldn't be surprised if he made a spectacle of himself and fainted in the classroom by the end of the semester.

"I see you've managed to avoid being mentioned in the article" she stated matter-of-factly. The Slytherin didn't know who the writer of the magazine was, but she certainly wished that she did. "Do you have any idea who is writing it?" she asked, wondering if maybe the reason the girl had avoided being mentioned was because she knew who was writing it. Not that that meant much because Athena hadn't been mentioned either. She knew why she wasn't mentioned though. It was because she was boring.

Kiara laughed slightly as the girl rolled her eyes and seemed to be annoyed by the boy. She thought it was fun to hear other people opinions of Andy. She hoped Justin never found out about her teasing ways. She sniggered slightly at her words and nodded her agreement. "I know. I completely agree. I sometimes think that he is there purely for our eentertainment. I mean really? How could he possibly amount to anything in life being such a quivering idiot?" She wondered as she spoke to the girl. It was interesting to say the least to hear her thoughts on Andy Hydran. She was getting to like her. If she remembered rightly her name was Athena, or something, like the greek goddess of... what was she? War! That was it. The greek goddess of War. She wondered if it had anything to say about her personality. She guessed probably not.

She raised an eyebrow slightly at Athena's next question. It was a fair question and so Kiara didn't have anything against it. Though it did now make her wonder why she wanted to know. Was she a spy? So what if Kiara knew. She wouldn't tell her even if she did. Though she did have a few theories about it. She wondered it Athena did. "Yes, I have managaed to keep myself out of it. But that doesn't mean I know whose writing it. Though I do have a few theories." She told her, deciding that the direct approach was best. "You? Any theories, thoughts, involvement?" WOuldn't it be funny if she was talking to the mastermind herself. Wouldn't it be the perfect disguise for the RHI author. Be someone no one would suspect? Like that Annalie girl for instance.

Athena giggled at Kiara's comment about Andy. "I know, right?" she laughed loudly, something that she never did much of. She was already beginning to like Kiara a bit more than her other roommates.

Adjusting her bag, Athena shook her head. "No...I'm not involved. It looks like a lot of work...too much work for me anyway". Athena was not a huge fan of doing things that required too much work on her part and writing the magazine looked like a lot of work and a lot of responsibility. She wasn't sure that she believed Kiara, but for now she had nothing to go on to not believe what she was saying. "I bet it's someone that no one would think of" she stated with a shrug and then grinned wickedly. "I know one person it can't be...Andy. He'd be more of a quivering mess than he already is" she stated with an eye roll and a shake of her head.

Things were starting to get interesting between the two of them, Kiara noted as Athena laughed. She couldn't remember ever seeing her laugh before, which she supposed would be alittle weird, Kiara liked to laugh, she laughed all the time, atleast when she wasn't with her family anyway. It did get her to wondering what kind of home life Athena had, though she knew better than to ask. She wasn't stupid afterall. Instead she nodded her head in agreement and decided to tell Athena a few things she knew about Andy, purely from her conversations with Justin. Her bestfriend was very talkative when she wanted him to be. "I heard that he is scared of just about everything. I mean he is scared of water, cliffs, insects and I heard even eating. I mean what is up with that?" She asked as she shook her head in exasperation. "It's almost like he isn't even a real person you know? Like who can honestly be that much of a scaredy cat?" She wondered aloud, not really asking Athena the question, but leaving it to hang in the air. It wasn't the sort of thing one could answer really anyway. And that weirdo girl cousin of his. Hazel or whatever her name was. She was totally out of control when it came to his being injured or hurt in any way. She was glad that Athena seemed to think along the same lines as she did.

"I suppose you do have a point, it is alot of hard work. I don't personally like to write things, even with essays annoy me, though I will admitt that I did have a stint on the Beauxbatons newspaper, but that was in first year and I didn't last long, I did this little section on how to survive exams, not that I was any good really." She told her, giving out alittle more information than she had intended. She shrugged, there was nothing in her words that said anything bad or the likes. Though of course the fact she worked on a newspaper could lead one to the conclusion that she was working with the RHI, but that was entirely inaccurate, not that she really cared, she wouldn't mind the notoriaty to be perfectly honest. "I did have this theory that it was that Annalie girl, but now that you mention it, I am thinking you could be right, maybe some-one who no-one knows, and I bet that either they have been featured in the article, or they are well away from it so that no-one would even think of them. It's just two extremes of the same ropes." Kiara listened to Athena speak and then bit her quivering lip. She didn't want to laugh at what she had said, but she couldn't help herself. She burst into a histerical giggle before gaining back her composure and nodding her head in agreement. "If Andy Hydran in behind this magazine, I will personally kiss the ground he walks on. Because that would make him one amazing actor." She decided as she leanded against one of the bookcases. Man that would be one for the history books, definitely. "Though I will admitt, there is something off about him. Honestly, who has that kind of a nervous breakdown when a Professor looks at him?" She wondered as she raised an eyebrow questioningly. It was definitely worth looking into.

Athena listened to Kiara continue to speak. She seemed to know a lot about Andy, but as it was all amusing she enjoyed the conversation. She shook her head. "Afraid of eating? He can't be serious" she giggled. The Slytherin had heard of many things but never that. It took a special kind of person to be afraid of something as normal as eating a meal. Athena also wad surprised at how easily Kiara was giving her information about herself and other people. No wonder the Rumor Has It person had so much to write about. If others were like Kiara, and she was sure there were many, it was easy for the person to get information. Not that Athena minded, of course. She rather enjoyed reading the stories in the magazine and watching people's reactions.

The Slytherin didn't say anything but Kiara wasn't making Athena think she wasn't the writer. She was doing the opposite. She had writing experience and a ton of information...on Andy Hydran at least. Still, Athena didn't think she was behind the magazine. It just didn't feel right or maybe she just didn't want to accuse the first person she might one day consider a friend. Thinking about the name Kiara threw out, Athena shrugged. "I don't know who that is" she stated. Kiara's near hysterical giggles set Athena off again and she wondered if the librarian would come to kick them out for being so loud. That would be interesting. She shrugged her shoulders. Professor Styx was pretty intimidating but not enough to cause a near faint. "Ugh...he is so sad." Athena rolled her eyes as a first year roamed into the aisle to look for a book. "Are you heading back to the common room now?" she asked her dorm mate.

Kiara nodded and shook her head as Athena found her information inveriably funny. She herself couldn't believe the fact that Andy Hydran was in such as state. It was highly irregular to be sure. She rolled her eyes. "Yeah, afraid of eating. I thought that was th weirdest thing in the world, but apparently it is quite true. Hard to believe isn't it?" She asked as she stifled yet another laugh that was trying to escape. Kiara of course knew that with the course of this information, Athena was likely to realise she harboured alot of information, atleast on Andy. But she didn't mind so much. She knew she wasn't behind Rumor Has It. If Athena wanted to think she was, who was she to care? She barely cared about anything these days. "I always find it amusing to think about Andy and his various, fears." She added before laughing again, this time not managing to keep it under wraps, this was turning into a very interesting conversation indeed.

When Athena expressed the fact that she didn't know who Annalie Darkhart was, Kiara smirked. How could she not know who Annalie was? Although it was true that the only reason Kiara knew who she was, was through Samual Kaster, the guy she likes to torment. "Well, she is a Ravenclaw Sixth year with quite a reputation. She is currently in like a feud with the Kasters, you know Samual Kaster, Mr McHappy." She explained as she looked around to ensure the librarian was no where to be seen. "I know it is just so sad for anyone to be like that, though he makes for good conversation." Kiara added with a tiny smirk and a lift of her eyebrows. Kiara glared at the first year before rolling her eyes at him. Unfortunately for him, he was a Hufflepuff. "Piss Off Puff!" She ordered before turning back to Athena. "They are friggen everywhere. Yeah, might aswell."

Once Kiara mentioned that Annalie was a Ravenclaw, Athena knew exactly who she was. She had heard talk of a Ravenclaw who was in constant trouble with professors, especially the Deputy Headmaster. It was quite surprising, though she didn't care all that much. Athena never really liked people who went out of their way to be noticed. "Oh, that one. I do know who she is" she nodded. Chuckling as Kiara yelled at the tiny Puff whose eyes widened as he scurried out of the aisle, Athena stood straight to her full height and began to walk out of the library.

The girl glanced at the table where the first year had scurried to join with other Puff first years. "You're right. It's like they multiplied" she sneered to her roommate. Kiara knew very few Puffs and certainly no first years. In fact, the one she knew most was her cousin, Hades. He was a pureblood, which was probably a rarity for his House. Athena was not so concerned when it came to her House, though she had seen an increasing number of half veela and half bloods in the House of late.
