Samual sighed happily as he dipped his bare feet into the cool lake water. The day had been bad for him and he wanted to regather his thoughts by the lake, its serenity and sparkly waters made Sam happy to just sit by it and watch. Watch the clouds go past, watch the water ripple and sparkle under the warm Autumn sun and watch some auburn coloured leaves float gently towards the water, until they reached it and floated on its top. Sammy loved water, it was so relaxing for him, if he was having a bad day, the Rosebush or the lake was where he could be found, or his big sister, but she was usually little help to him when he was worked up. Sometimes Sam's facade would faulter and die, meaning that his bubble of happy and bright would waste away to nothing and he would start to feel down about everything, but luckily he had friends that could make him feel better, family that were either a letter away or wondering around the castle and the lake, the nice cold lake...

Samual smiled, all his worries and fears sunk to the bottom of the lake, just like the leaves. He closed his eyes and laid himself down, proping his head on his arms and deciding to leave his feet in the water and his pants leg rolled up to his knees, why would he deny his feet such a relaxing experience? He felt like sleeping, but fought the urge to drift away into dreamland, if he was not careful, he could possibly fall into the water or fall into a deep sleep and wake up sun burnt, that did not sound fun so Samual re-opened his eyes and sat up, deciding the best choice would be to just watch the lake and daydream a little.

It was a warm Autumn day and Crystal still hasn't recovered. True, she'd known about the other family agenda since last holidays but as far as she's concerned she's not yet fully recovered. Crystal knew that she'd changed and she kept telling herself that she should be strong for her family since she now realized that her being so sensitive about most things only hurts her family most especially her mother. A cold tomb was buried beneath Crystal's chest and she was determined to keep it forever. Her father was too naive to be seeing another family behind her mother's back and Crystal and Christopher could not accept it completely. Emerald on the other hand took in the unfaithfulness quickly like it was some kind of a drink. She was in full custody of her father now since the divorce declared that two kids go to the mother while the other two go to the father. Crystal and Chris remained by their mother's side while Carly and Emerald went away with their father. It was a sad thing really but the two seemed to love their father most and as Crystal's mother dictate it; it's for the better.

Crystal walked with a depressed look on her face as she roam around the Lakefront trying to find something that can take away her depression off from things. The Lakefront was a bit crowded. There were lots of students and even professors talking to each other while walking and eating something. Crystal on the other hand was walking alone, observing the crunching sounds that the leaves let out as she step on them. It was somehow good on the ears and Crys was glad that even doing the simplest things resulted such music. Later on, Crystal spotted someone over the lake sitting while closing his eyes. He seemed to be enjoying herself. One of the things that made Crystal change is that she's determine to gather people who loves her and who she loves to keep her company through rough times. Crystal went her way to the boy and sat next to him in an Indian way of sitting. "Anything interesting around here?" She said, flashing him a cheerful smile.

Samual was pulled by his comforting thoughts by a voice, a female voice. He looked around and found the source rather quickly, a girl with blonde hair and a cheerful smile had sat next to him, she looked nice. This made Sam smile, he loved conversation, talking was one of his talents. "Hey!" He said cheerfully, his smile bright, his bubble of happy rebuild and his posture strightened. He then shurgged, remembering that the girl had asking him a question, not greeted him, sometimes he got a little too excited by new people and often skipped important parts of conversations, such as answering questions. "Not really, I havn't seen anything yet, though I heard that there are merepeople and a giant squid in here." He said cheerfully, pulling his feet out of the water and resting them on the warm rocks.

Sammy smiled to himself, for no apparent reason, he just felt like smiling, why wouldn't he? He was just starting to get down in the dumps and BAM! A nice person comes over to talk to him, it was simply amazing to say the least. "I am Sam." He said, holding out his hand. Samual loved his name, he loved introducing himself too, since his opening sentence always made him smile, considering it was an example of assonance, well, sort of. "What's your name?" He continued, he was trying his best to not ask too many questions in one go, he didn't want to scare the girl off with an endless amount of questions, he also didn't want to appear nosey, so he kept his curiousity at bay and waited pactiently for her reply.
