The loss of pureblood status
Jessica had been brought up her whole life to believe she was a pureblood. When her parents divorced, Jessica began a rebellious streak, a pureblood hint of pureblood supremacy showing its face. Jessica couldn't understand why the perfect pureblood couple would divorce when the reason was only because they didn't love each other as much as they had in the past. Jessica was further pushed into a state of rebellion when her Mum remarried another pureblood man. Jessica didn't want to be a pureblood of a broken home. She accepted it eventually, considering her Mum's husband worthy. Jessica's rebellion calmed down considerably, that is until truth that her Mother wasn't actually a pureblood came out. It was in 2018 that Jessica's Mum was informed that Evelyn Coyle (Melissa's Mother) cheated on Robert Drape (Evelyn's husband) with a muggle named Tom Linus, who turned out to be Melissa's Father. This meant that Melissa wasn't the pureblood she believed, but in fact a half blood, which then meant Taylor and Jessica were mixed bloods. Taylor wasn't bothered by the news, but Jessica was furious, she was no longer considered 'better than other people' (or so she thought). She started to rebel worse than before, being rude to most people and disrespecting her parents. She hasn't grown out of that stage, still wanting to be the pureblood that she once was and continuing to treat everyone horribly because it can never happen.
