Archie had spent most of his first two years in the sanctuary of the Slytherin common room rarely venturing past the Great Hall unless it was for classes. He was very much a 'home body' and felt the most comfortable in his house common room. However, he had decided that he was going to make more of an effort this year in his classes and with his friends and new people. So he thought the perfect place to do so was going to the Student Lounge where he could meet more people that were not just of his house. He entered the lounge and immediately took a seat on an available sofa. He looked around the room and everyone seemed to be engaged in conversation already. He sighed and got out his Ancient Runes textbook, he decided that this would be a good time to catch up on some reading for his new elective.

Dan had decided it had been a good idea to go to the student lounge, considering the weather wasn't too great today and probably revise. However, he couldn't bring himself to revise especially as more people were coming to the lounge, entering and leaving which the Slytherin honestly thought it to be a distraction. A movement caught his attention at the corner of his eye so Daniel was curious enough to see what could have sparked his interest. When he saw who it was, he grinned, his eyes shining with joy at seeing one of his good friends he had made during his first year. "Archie!" He whispered loudly, not wanting to disturb the others but happy nonetheless to see his housemate. "Long time no see," he said, only now realising he was reading. Maybe he should leave the boy to it but as he wondered what on earth he was so absorbed in, couldn't help but take a seat next to him. Daniel had probably disrupted the boy either way and he had nothing better to do, studying was not an option at the moment so he settled himself and waited for Archie to notice him.

Izzy rolled her eyes at the letter she had received from her father and scrunched it up, unhappy with the way things were going between her and her dad. Should she even bother replying? Probably not. She didn't feel the need to and she could always try to find an excuse, classes started and she had a lot of work to do, plus she had tried out for Quidditch...literally anything would work on her father. Especially because he was so easily influenced by the people around him. The Ravenclaw sighed, almost wishing she could live in this place but having second thoughts about that when she entered the Lounge and noticed she couldn't have a bit of time for herself. She didn't feel like confronting her housemates and the overjoyed first years so she had come here, unsure as to whether it had been a good idea or not in the first place. There were too many people for her liking but she just had to deal. Isabelle was muttering to herself, saying words like 'stupid family' and 'no point in replying to him' unaware of a few students that she had caught unwanted attention from. After a few minutes she sighed, having taken a seat on one of the sofas and froze when her eyes landed on two very familiar boys. Quietly, she opened her book and slowly raised it in front of her face, trying to cover herself from their view. Hopefully they had not seen her and hadn't been two people who had heard her enter the Student Lounge.

Archie heard someone call out his name so he put his book down and looked around the room to see where the voice was coming from. Much to Archie's delight he discovered that it was his good friend Daniel that had spotted him from across the room. he moved over on the sofa to make some more room for his Slytherin companion. He held out his hand for Dan to shake "It has been too long, my friend" he replied smiling at the boy. Dan was one of the only good friends that Archie had made at the school, he was thankful that they were both in the same house because it made it easier for them to meet. "What are you doing in the Student Lounge?" he asked his friend. Archie hadn't expected to have seen anyone that he knew in the lounge.

In the midst of their animated conversation, Archie had nearly missed the fact that a girl, around their age, dressed in Ravenclaw robes had sat down opposite the two. He didn't know who she was but the girl seemed to recognise the two boys and promptly raised a book in front of her face. Archie nudged Dan in the ribs and nodded towards the girl who was in front of them. "Do you know her?" he asked. Wondering if Daniel had, had an encounter with the young girl because it seemed like she didn't want to talk to them.
