Amaya didn't understand why all of this was necessary- they hadn't come to visit Uncle James and that weirdo Onyx in over a year, and she was happy about that. They had moved to Ireland where their mother lived and would be attending school at the other Hogwarts. They could probably go to the one in New Zealand if they asked, but Amery hadn't decided which would be worse- going to school with her cousin or going to school with her sister.

She rolled her eyes as they pulled up to the small two-bedroom house. It was cramped, and she didn't like sleeping in Uncle James' room. It smelled too much like him, like leather and sawdust. She groaned as her dad parked, reluctantly climbing out of the car and staring sullenly at the house in front of her. Whatever news Uncle James and Onyx had couldn't be so important that it couldn't be sent by mail, could it?

She trudged up to the door after her parents, slouched and generally unhappy. There were so many other things she could be doing right now.

Ember was busy listening to her music, attempting to ignore her little sister and her drama. She knew Amaya didn't mean it, not really, but it still got on her nerves. Ember had to admit she was curious about this trip- they weren't even planning on coming until Uncle James had sent her dad an urgent letter yesterday morning. So, here they were, pulling up to Uncle James' cozy little home. She hopped out of the car, slipping off her headphones as she followed after her little sister to the door.

Onyx fidgeted nervously in the living room, waiting for his cousins to file in. He didn't know how they would react, or if the girls would even care, but he did know that Uncle Jayce and his wife would care, at least. But Sapphire would want to meet everyone after a bit, he knew it. He let out a rough breath as they knocked. Uncle Jackson got up off the couch from beside him and went to the door. Onyx ran a hand through his hair as he listened to the door open and the conversation that followed.

Amaya stood impatiently behind her parents as Uncle James opened the door. He and her mother hugged, before he turned and clasped her father's hand tightly. "Jayce, it's been too long." Uncle James spoke softly.

"It always is, little brother." Her father nodded. Amaya rolled her eyes. Those two were closer as siblings than she and Em ever would be. Probably because Uncle Jackson died, but whatever.

Uncle James stepped aside, finally, and motioned for them to come inside. "Onyx is in the living room," He said as they all files in.

Amaya tried not to grimace. She liked Onyx but only when she chose to. She hated being told to do anything.
