Ever since her mother had told her about magic Emma had loved to hear everything about it and to hear her mothers stories about Hogwarts. She had told Emma all her adventures and the things she had learned, about the castle and its grounds and about all the teachers. All the stories had been amazing, but they were all took place at Hogwarts Scotland, whilst Emma, at the moment, found herself at Hogwarts New Zealand. Another castle, other grounds, different teachers and seven years ahead. Plenty of time for Emma to make her own stories, which she could, at her turn, tell her mom about. At the moment she had already seen quite a bit of the castle, which might be because she got lost whilst searching for the right classrooms she had to go to for her lessons, but there was still a lot more to see. Maybe after seven years she would know the castle just fine, maybe she wouldn't. Emma's sense of direction wasn't the greatest and she tended to get lost a lot, but was so used to ask people the way that she didn't mind doing it anymore, although when she had to she'd rather ask a second or third years student than a sixth or fifth.

Today however Emma got bored of being inside the walls of the castle and had found her way inside. Normally she wouldn't hang around as much as she did right now, but the lessons she had gone to had only been introduction lessons and she didn't have any work to do yet. Of course she could already read forward in her books, but she didn't feel like that was necessary yet. Once the lessons really started to get going she would do everything she could to do well, but for now she just enjoyed being outside for a while. Emma walked over to a spot on the grass in the sun and put her bag on the ground, following it by sitting down herself. She didn't mind sitting alone at this point, she always had troubles making friend and seeing the year hadn't barely started yet she figured making friends would come later on, or at least she that was what she hoped.

Ailsa had been really enjoying Hogwarts so far. She'd not really been a huge fan of the classes so far, but it wasn't like they'd been doing any real work yet, which didn't help her lack of enjoyment of it. She preferred flying and other things. She didn't really enjoy the lessons and such. It was pretty boring to her. She wasn't sure what else there was to do at the school, so Ailsa had taken the time to try to get involved in a few clubs. Which had in part lead her to the Heta Omega. It seemed like it could be a lot of fun, though she wasn't too sure about it. Which meant that Ailsa was really still looking to make some more friends. She had been wandering around the school for a while. Not really sure what she wanted to do. It wasn't like she wanted to study, or she wanted to learn more. That wasn't her. She could enjoy lessons as much as the next person, but there was just a part of the whole learning thing that was not for her. She wasn't really interested in doing such a thing. She knew that she was still young and her opinion about it might change, but at this point her views were pretty set in stone.

Ailsa ended up outside. She didn't know why she was now outside but it seemed as good a place as any to end up. She smiled slightly to herself as she wandered through the ground. Howgarts was nice, boarding school definitely had some perks. This was definitely a lot of fun. She wasn't sure about how many friends she would make or the people she would meet, but she was keen to get started on most things. Ailsa was definitely interested in doing more things that were fun, than any of the classes. As she walked along she noticed that she'd begun heading towards those cliffs which were forbidden. However, she got distracted, when she watched a girl sit down on the grass which was bathed in a slightly warm sun than the other day. Ailsa was now split about what to do. She could try to strike up a conversation with the girl, or she could leave her alone. Considering that Ailsa didn't really have any friends, unless one counted that boy she had been flying with. She walked over, and without waiting to see if the girl even wanted it, she sat down next to her. She remembered this girl as being a gryffindor like Ailsa.

"I'm Ailsa. You're a gryffindor right?" she asked her with a small smile, almost certain that she was. "We share a dorm I think." It was perhaps bad that she was meeting her roommate now and wasn't even sure about it, but that was just life.

The weather outside was great and Emma lovd being outside without having classes to worry about. Yet. Once the classes would really take of she probably wouldn't have a lot of time to relax and not have any worries, she had to study and she had to be the best. The determination to prove herself most likely came from the fact that her mother had done great in her years at Hogwarts and her brother and sister were doing good as well. Her brother was currently in his seventh year at Hogwarts Scotland and did not only have great grades he also was very succesfull in his House's Quidditch Team. Her sister was in her fourth year and was currently the top point earner of her year, being quite likely to become a prefect when she would be old enough. They both have had multiple years to achieve their dreams, but that was something Emma didn't take into consideration when thinking about how she had to prove herself, how she wanted to be the best so she would fit in the family, a family of winners as her mom always said. No pressure at all.

The young Gryffindor closed her eyes as she enjoyed the warmth of the sun on her face and was goign to lay down on the grass when she suddenly had some company. Without a doubt a girl who seemed to be a first year as well sat down next to her and Emma looked at her questioning. "Erm- Hi." Emma responded to the girl, who immediately introduced herself as Ailsa, and Emma recognized her from somewhere. "I'm Emma." She smiled back at the girl next to her. "Yeah, I'm a Gryffindor too! I think we do yeah, because I recall having seen you before." It was very well possible for them to be dorm mates. Emma hadn't spend a lot of her time in her dorm yet, because had slept before the others arrived and left before they had woken up in the morning, however if they really did share a dorm they'd find out soon enough. "So- eh, did you come outside to enjoy the sun as well?" It was an awful question, but Emma couldn't think of anything else to say.

Ailsa was glad when it appeared that the girl she'd chosen to sit down next to didn't seem too bothered by the interruption that was her. She smiled warmly at the girl as she introduced herself. In reality Ailsa wasn't overly good at introducing herself to others. She was plenty polite when she wanted to be, but this wasn't one of those occasions where she was polite, she'd just down next to this girl and hoped for the best. The girl, it turned out was called Emma. "That's a nice name. My parents were going to call me Emma, until the decided I suited Ailsa better" she told the girl with a smile at her. Emma had been what her parents were going to call it, but she was much happier with a name like Ailsa. It was much more uncommon than Emma, and Ailsa really like that about it. She did often get asked if she was just saying and spelling it wrong, and her name was actually Elsa, which was why she spent a lot of time making sure people knew that her name was Ailsa. She was glad therefore when this girl, Emma in front of her, didn't seem overly bothered by her name.

Ailsa smiled simply at her as she then said that she was in fact a gryffindor. Ailsa was glad about this, it meant that she had been right about one thing, and that this girl was someone whom she could look out for in the house rooms, and the classrooms. It would be good to know at least one person. She nodded at Emma, who then asked her what she'd been doing before she'd decided to go join the girl there. Ailsa smiled at her, and gave a small nod, she had in part been wanting to spend time in the sun, but exploring seemed just that much better. She was much more looking forward to that that just lazying around in the sun. "Sort of, I was heading towards the cliffs. I heard that they were forbidden and I kind of want to find out why." she told the girl with a small smirk, hoping that this girl wasn't the type which would tell on her. Ailsa didn't know much about her roommates, but she hoped she might learn a little bit about this girl Emma now. "If you wanted we could go check it out together?" She prompted, waiting to see what this girl was like.

Emma smiled as Ailsa complimented her on her name and told her parents had almost called her Emma as well. Ailsa was a name that Emma was't very common with, but she liked it. It was different and emma liked that. Her own name was given to so many children that it almost got boring to hear. "Thanks!" The young girl said as she shot Ailsa a happy smile. "I like your name better, to be honest. I'd much more like to have a name that's different, like yours." Emma's name was simple and she had always wished to have a name that was a bit more complicated, or at least a bit more uncommon. However a name was just something to call a person by and wouldn't do anything else for them.

Ailsa told Emma that she was heading to the cliffs, which apparently were forbidden, and when she asked her if she'd like to come with her Emma frowned. If they really were forbidden they might get in trouble if they got spot there. However the young girl wasn't in Gryffindor if there wasn't a very good reason for it and although she could seem like a rather boring person who only cares about classes and doing good she couldn't say no to a little exploring. "Sure, I'll go." Emma told her, as she slowly got up to her feet and brushed some grass of her robes. Having no idea which way the cliffs were she looked at the girl next to her. "So, d'you know the way?"

As the girl, Emma complimented Ailsa on her name, Ailsa had to stop herself from answering back with a yeah, I know. It didn't seem right considering what she was actually trying to do currently was make friends with people. She was hoping that this girl in front of her could be a friend. She didn't know if she would be or not, but it was definitely something she was interested in finding out. Currently, Ailsa had one possible friend, but that wasn't completely certain. And the other was not a friend at all. He had cheated against her, as if she was actually going to consider that he could be a friend. Though it had proved fun to annoy him. So, instead of saying anything about Emma's name, she just smiled as friendly as she could, "Thanks" she said, feeling like that was possibly the only thing that she could add to this really. It wasn't like saying anything would really help. "Emma is still a lovely name" the words slipped out of her before she could really stop them, and technically it was a nice thing for her to actually say. it was about as nice as she was really going to manage.

As Ailsa told this girl about the cliffs she realised that perhaps this girl wouldn't be that interested, or perhaps was not keen on breaking the rules. Which she was sure would be fine. But, really, Ailsa was always looking for people whom she could have fun with. This girl for all Ailsa's effort would just not end up being her friend. However after a long enough break the girl said that she would go. Ailsa's smile grew as she herself stood up. She was really excited to see both the cliffs and find out, how adventurous this girl, Emma was. At the next question, Ailsa just shook her head. It might've been a bit of an idea to find out where they were, but she was sure that they'd find them eventually. That being said however, she glanced around and attempted to figure out which direction they could've been sent in. "I am not sure about where they are, but, I think if we just keep walking we'll end up there eventually" She told the girl with a reassuring tone. "And should we get lost, then, it'll be fine. I'm sure they'll find us eventually." She may have said this less reassuringly, but that was because, Ailsa didn't really care about curfew or really being caught.

When Ailsa mentioned that Emma was still a nice name she shrugged. "I guess." She didn't hate or despise her name, she just wished her parents had called her something a bit less common. Emma wasn't someone who wanted to blend in, go up in the crowd, she wanted to stand out. She wanted to be the best and make people look up to her, but she still had a lot of years to accomplish that.

Although Emma didn't really feel like getting into trouble she was often up for a little adventures. She had seen the cliffs from the castle once and it was a place that was said to be off limits for students she had seen people walk around there multiple times, so she figured that the rules weren't too strict. Emma nodded as the girl mentioned that they would eventually end up there if they just kept walking. "Sounds like a plan. Just start walking and see where we'll end up." If they wouldn't end up at the cliffs, they'd end up somewhere else and if they did got lost Emma was sure they'd find their way back, it wouldn't be too hard to see the castle when wandering around its grounds, it's pretty hard to miss. "So shall we?" She looked at the girl in front of her, waiting for her to set in and start walking.
