It was a great day and with the term coming to a close quickly, Cyndi had more time on her hands. There weren't as many papers to grade and her exam was already made up thankfully. When she'd gotten out of bed that morning, the young professor knew that she wanted to get off the school grounds, so she dressed quickly, pulling on her old captain's shirt and some other clothing suitable for a nice long jog. She walked past the Great Hall where breakfast seemed to have just ended. The smell of french toast nearly enticed her to stay on the grounds, but she shook it off and moved quickly for the door.

As she stepped outside of the school grounds, Cyndi realized that this was the first time she had done so since the terrible night she'd had at the Medley. That had been a bad weekend for her altogether and she wasn't exactly trying to remember all of the details. She'd written to Riley trying her best to make amends but still hadn't heard from him, and she hoped she'd never see that other guy again. With a small turn, Cyndi apparated with a crack to the park near her home and set off on a slow jog. It was already mid-morning so there were plenty of other wizards and witches around, but everyone seemed to be into their own thing and not bothering anyone else. She continued jogging, picking up the pace slightly as her leg muscles loosened up.

Cameron was sitting on a bench, thinking about the other night at the Medley. He had gotten into a fight with another man to defend a woman's honor, or at least that's the way he saw it. The woman hadn't been out of his head since that night. She had managed to relieve him of thoughts of Marleigh and his pain. This particular wonder woman was Kiera's best friend, Cyndi. So did this make her off limits to him? He wasn't sure. He had dated Kiera's best friend, Caysi but that had also ended in heart break for him.

Cameron was so consumed with his thoughts that he almost missed Cyndi as she happened to jog right by him. His blue eyes stared at her, blinking to make sure it wasn't a trick. His face spread into a grin. "Cyndi?" he said, calling after her as he rose off the bench.

As Cyndi ran, her body began to relax more and more, releasing some of the tension that had become a staple over the past few weeks. Although she was a professor and most would assume it was her work that was causing her stress, it was actually the least of her problems. It was her personal life that was all over the place. Lost in thought but with her body still in motion, Cyndi thought she heard someone call out to her. It took her a second to look back towards the possible source though.

When she did, she was a couple hundred feet away. Who she saw clearly surprised her, so much that she nearly kept running. It was the one guy who hadn't annoyed her lately and Cyndi couldn't help the blush that crossed her face. Her face was already slightly red from the exercise so she hoped he wouldn't notice. Not that he hadn't seen her look worse because she clearly had at the Medley. She'd had a drink poured on her head and then the furnunculus curse placed on her and she knew she must have looked dreadful. Thankfully, the nurse had helped her.

"Cameron?" she said in disbelief, the sudden increase in her heart rate having nothing to do with the jogging. She stopped and concentrated on her breathing, trying to get it to slow down while she waited for him to reach her. "I'm glad I ran into you. I've been meaning to send you an owl to thank you for the other day, but with classes I've been so busy..." she trailed off.

Cameron grinned crookedly at Cyndi's reaction. He could tell he had caught her offguard and surprised her. Was it his imagination or did he notice her blush? Cam began to make his way to her as she stopped back away from him. He smiled at the younger girl as he reached her. "Yeah, its me." he replied with a laugh as she spoke his name. She looked good, even though she had obviously been working out. Cameron couldn't help but notice her fit figure in what she was wearing. He was sorely tempted to wolf whistle at her.

"Oh really?" Cameron asked surprised. He hadn't expected any thanks. He shook his head. "It wasn't a big deal really. I wanted to help you out. Plus I think Kiera would murder me if she ever found out I had just ignored helping you. I don't want to be on her bad side." he said with a chuckle. Kiera could do some serious damage when she was upset. Though Kiera wasn't the reason he had helped Cyndi. "But naturally I always stand up for pretty ladies who are being abused." he said, winking at her. "Actually I meant to Owl you too." Cam replied honestly.

Cyndi smiled at Cameron as she looked up at him. For a moment all she could think about was how underdressed she was. She couldn't understand why every time she ran into him, she always managed to look terrible. At least she didn't have a drink running down her hair and back this time. But, she was still in just sweats and a hoodie. She stuffed her hands nervously into her pocket, since she didn't know what else to do with them.

She listened to Cameron speak, giggling slightly when he mentioned not wanting to get on Kiera's bad side. "I know what you mean" she joked. It was funny to her that even though he was years older and inches taller, he was still fearful of his sister. But she knew Kiera well enough to know how she got when she was upset with someone. As she continued to listen, a blush crossed her cheek. This one was likely more noticeable because she could have sworn she had just heard Cameron call her pretty. And that wink sent Cyndi's heart beating rapidly again. His final comment was more than she could handle. He'd meant to send an owl...to her? "Really?" she said excitedly before forcing herself to calm. He probably just wanted to know if you were ok, she realized. "What for?"He'd definitely gotten her interest, not that his good looks didn't already do that.

Cam wondered if he was just imagining the excitement in Cyndi's eyes when he said he meant to owl her. He had two motives for the letter he had yet to send. The first was to check on her and see how she was doing after the fiasco at the Medley. He knew she was busy with teaching so hopefully that would keep her from being too upset with what had gone down. The second was a very selfish motive. For some reason, Cyndi was able to keep his thoughts on her rather than his ex-love, Marleigh. He doubted if Cyndi knew she had this power but it was a relief to him. She was able to melt away the hurt and pain he felt by what that girl had done to him.

Cameron grinned at Cyndi. "Yes, I meant to but hadn't had the time yet." he confirmed for her. He paused as she asked what about. Was it right to go through with his selfish reasoning? He wasn't sure but didn't dwell on it for long. "Well...I was wondering if you might like to go to dinner with me one evening?" he asked her, unsure of her answer.

As she waited for his answer, Cyndi took the time to study his face. He was definitely a good looking guy and Cyndi had thought so for years now, since he had come to the school for the Tri-wizard tournament. It was also a kind one and Cyndi had already seen how deep his kindness went. She knew that no matter how much she thanked him, Cameron would probably never know how grateful she was that he had helped her when she really needed it.

Cyndi gave him a curious expression when he told her his reasons for wanting to owl her. It was not what she was expecting and she was momentarily speechless. It was true that he had mentioned her and pretty in the same sentence on more than one ocassion but she just put it off to him being flirtacious and figured he was like that with everyone. This was different though. It was an actual request for a date. "Yea, I'd love to" she blurted out and then grinned. Sometimes her impulsivity got the better of her, but his question had been an easy one at least in her mind. "Let's just stay away from the Medley" she joked, a small chuckle escaping her.

Cameron couldn't help but smile as she quickly agreed to a date. A good sign in his mind. He chuckled as she said they should stay away from the Medley. She was right since it could be a source of trouble especially for them. He grinned and nodded his head. "I think that's probably a good idea." he said, amusement dancing in his blue eyes. "When are you free?" he asked, wanting to go sometime this week. It would be hard for him to concentrate on work if their date was pushed back several weeks.
Sorry...tired :(

Cyndi nodded her head quickly. She wondered briefly if anything would happen if she went to the Medley again. Hopefully, the most excitement she would get from the place would be a drink and a dance or two. She didn't ever want to go through another experience like the one that had happened last time. But she did like the place and planned on returning there one day. Not everything to come out of that day had been bad though. The best thing was standing right in front of her.

When Cameron asked her when she was free, Cyndi thought for a moment. She didn't want to prolong it too much since she was kind of looking forward to the prospect of going on a date with Mr. Kingsley, but she did have a few quizzes to administer during the week and she knew that grading and returning them was likely to take up a lot of her time. "I'm free on Friday. Is that good for you?" She knew he worked as an Unspeakable, but she didn't know what his schedule was like in that position. She actually didn't know anything about the position at all since it was one of the most mysterious occupations in the magical world.

no problem...my day is kind of crazy, so apologies for my post too :erm:

Cameron smiled at Cyndi, very pleased that she had accepted his offer for dinner. "Friday is perfect for me." he reassured her. Nothing would interfere with their plans. Cam didn't break dates. He had a great idea in mind as to where he wanted to take her. His blue eyes sparkled with amusement at the idea. "So where can I pick you up at?" he asked curiously. He thought professors lived at the school but surely she had another apartment or something somewhere for summers and holidays. He waited patiently for the young woman's answer. The worst part was over since she had in fact agreed to go out with him. He had a feeling they would have a good time together. She was beautiful, smart, and funny as well as kept his thoughts away from his heartbreak. What more could he want?

Cyndi had the feeling that he was just as relieved as she was that they were done with that part of the conversation. She grinned as he said that Friday was good with him. "Great" she repliedas she put her hands into the pocket of her hoodie. It would be fun and she knew that as the week passed, she would look more and more forward to Friday and their date.

"You could pick me up at my place" she stated with a shrug as she pulled out her wand. She used it to conjure up a piece of parchment and a quill which she quickly used to scribble her address. It wasn't far from the park at all. Vanishing the quill, she handed the piece of parchment over to him. "There you are" she said. It would be much easier if he picked her up there than at the castle. She didn't have any 'date' clothes at the school since that was the last thing she expected to do while there. Glancing at her watch, Cyndi realized that she should probably be heading back to the school. "So, I guess I'll see you Friday then, Cameron" she added, a shy smile crossing her face.
