Kia was struggling with a lot of things lately. She had always been alone, really, so the majority of the people she spent time with just taking off without even a goodbye didn't even surprise her. Taking a step back before, well, she had controlled that, but even then she had gathered it didn't really matter if she was there or not to the people she'd been around.

She had been struggling with a lot this year. Her grades had dropped, her will to power through and take care of everything fading. What was the point of surviving when you had nothing to really live for? Her whole life had always been the same- survive. She was acutely aware of how lonely she felt these days, and thought that maybe getting out of the castle would help. She had taken up residence in a booth in the back of the Hogs Head, an Italian language book in front of her even if it wasn't really registering. She had ordered a glass of water- it was free- but it sat mainly untouched beside her.

Riku Mckenna switched schools, which was to no surprise since his family went to one outside of New Zealand. It would not be long until Roxas and Rai would follow suit. So, he kept in touch with someone that Kalif Styx the Second kept around for some reason, which made Riku want to keep contact with her. After all, Riku assumed that if Kia was good enough for that boy, then she was more than good enough for him. Riku arrived at the scheduled place, and immediately saw Kia. He grinned before plopping down in front of her. He noticed that she had some water, which was boring. "Let's get a round of butterbeer," Riku gestured toward the waitress and paid for 4 glasses, since he assumed that she might want more than just one. He knew that he would.

Kia was surprised when Riku appeared. She glanced down to her book, wondering if there was any point in trying to continue studying. "I can't pay for that," she replied idly, mostly just staring at the pages so she didn't have to focus on the boy in front of her. "What do you want, Riku?" She asked, sounding tired. "You already left," she kept her face neutral as she said it, trying to act like she didn't care.
