Cyrus was walking along the corridor, a little lost in thought. He had some History of Magic homework to catch up on later and he was considering heading outside. The weather wasn't horrible, and it would be nice to get some fresh air. He glanced out of a window he passed, smiling as he looked down over the lawn. Then he focused his attention in front of him again, just in time to see a piece of parchment flutter out of someone's bag and onto the stone floor. Cyrus reached down to pick it up, then rushed forward to catch up with the person. "Hey, wait!" He called, moving forward quickly. He caught up with with the girl and tapped her on the shoulder. "You dropped this." He said quickly, holding out the parchment.

Sunny had loosely stuffed her Charms homework into her bag and heading back towards the Slytherin common room when someone spoke to her and tapped her on the shoulder. She spun around quickly in surprise that soon became delight when she the parchment in his hand. "Oh my goodness, is that mine? Thank you so much Cyrus!" she gasped, taking it with both hands and putting the parchment back in her bag more carefully this time. "I didn’t even realise I'd dropped it! You’re so lovely. Seriously. That would’ve been lost forever if it weren’t for you!" She face lit up with a warm, grateful smile. "My hero!"

As the girl turned around, Cyrus recognized her as his classmate Sunny. But it was like he was seeing her for the first time. He almost saw her turn around in slow motion and could swear he heard vague background music somewhere in the back of his mind. Had she always been this pretty? He stared at her as she thanked him and felt his heart jump as she smiled at him. Had she really called him her hero? He blinked, then realized he had to say something. "Um. Yes." He said. "I mean, glad I saw- I mean I helped. Glad I could help." He said, stumbling over his words. And he was supposed to be a poet?

Sunny tilted her head and fluttered her lashes at Cyrus as he fumbled over his words, her tone deliberately light when she spoke. “You okay there Cyrus?” she asked thinking he was behaving strangely, “Well, I’m very glad you helped too,” she cooed with a warm smile that gave nothing away. Inside, she was already rolling her eyes. Boys were so weird. “Were you off anywhere exciting?” she asked, turning to continue walking and assuming Cyrus would come with her, "Maybe we could walk together? I am heading back to my common room, unless that's terribly out of your way?"

Cyrus nodded at Sunny's question, trying to get himself to stop staring like an idiot. Clearly, she had noticed. He cleared his throat "Er, no not really." He said, automatically following her even though she wasn't heading in the same direction he had been heading in. "I was just going to work on some homework, History of Magic." He said. "Nah, it's not out of the way." He said, though it was an obvious lie. The Slytherin common room was down in the dungeons, it was out of everyone's way.
