In the Same Spot

Gabriella felt a little foolish as she entered the great hall for this dance on her own. She wasn't entirely sure why she kept coming to these events, when all she ended up doing was standing by the side and sometimes making some awkward conversation. The Valentine's dance especially seemed to be all about couples, but it felt even lonelier to just sit in her dormitory on her own. Besides, she wanted to go. The decorations were a bit tacky, but she enjoyed the general atmosphere at these events. She knew Frankie wouldn't let being on her own stop her, so she would try to do the same. She was mostly worried she would look strange, all by herself, but she knew she shouldn't care so much about what others might think. Especially because she had no idea if they were actually thinking it. It was simply her own worries, and it made no sense to let that stop her. So the girl had put on a simple white dress and now made her way into the Great Hall. She listened to the Headmistress' speech politely, then made her way to a nearby table to get a cake. She looked around, wondering if she would see any of her friends tonight. Hopefully they didn't all have dates.
