Aodhan smirked when Andi waited for him in the centre of the Gryffindor common room. He was glad to see that they had successfully managed to shake off the few that had overheard their conversation about sneaking out of the common room later that night, as he preferred to stick to the plan of it being just the two of them so he wouldn't have to worry about the cover story he and Andi were going to use if a professor caught them. Without giving his friend a chance to talk the plan over one last time, Aodhan grabbed her hand and walked out of the common room and into the candlelit corridor. He was excited to explore the castle. The two Gryffindor's soon stood still in the Grand Staircase and Aodhan couldn't help to wonder where they should go to next.

After walking through the school for a while, the Gryffindor boy stopped in his tracks once they reached the second floor corridor and turn towards Andi. ''I heard there is an empty classroom nearby, wanna take a look inside?'' He asked, his voice lowered. Aodhan had heard all kind of stories regarding the classroom, some which were worth taking the risk of getting caught by a professor or prefect for. As he waited for his friend to answer, Aodhan tiptoed over to the door of the abandoned classroom, opened it and peeked inside.

Andi was more than ready to explore the wonders of the castle at night with one of her new found friends. Aodhan was fun, equally as adventurous as she was and their thoughts always seemed to be on a similar wavelength. She was glad when he also wanted to keep this exploration mission exclusively between the two of them to not only lessen their chances of getting caught, but to ensure they had more fun and there was no annoying third wheel that complained about the mission or how dark the castle became after nightfall. It was no wonder their personalities clicked during their first meeting in obsidian harbor and furthermore when they had both been sorted into Gryffindor. Andi smiled as she thought about this while waiting for her friend in the middle of the common room.

Eventually she saw Aodhan descend the stairs to the boys dorm and kept her mouth firmly shut as he grabbed her hand, leading her out of gryffindor house and into the candle lit corridors. They walked together throughout the castle, making their way down the grand staircase and it's constantly changing pathways until they reached the second floor corridor. It was there that Aodhan halted his steps and turned towards Andi with a query about an abandoned classroom that was apparently nearby. Smirking, Andi whispered "That's not even a question, of course I want to look." while she followed Aodhan to the doorway, watching intently as he opened the door a crack and peeked inside. "Anything good?" She asked, standing slightly behind him so he could continue to lead the way, walking into the room if he thought it was interesting enough to go inside.

Aodhan grinned at Andi's remark while opening the door to get a better look on what was inside the abandoned classroom. He couldn't see much as there was no light in the classroom but from what he could see thanks to the candlelit corridor the room was mostly empty with desks and chairs pushed to both side of the walls. Aodhan turned his head around to look at his friend with disappointment on his face because the content of the abandoned classroom was not what he expected at all. ''It's just an empty room,'' he said in a low voice. The Gryffindor entered the room with the little light that he had and hoped that he wouldn't walk into something else while trying his best to see what elses was in the classroom. He wished that the tales older students told him about this room earlier this evening were true because he really wanted a room that would refill itself with different snacks every day. ''At least we could use this as a chill spot.'' Aodhan said, looking at the bright side of the abandoned classroom.

Andi slouched and sighed with disappointment when Aodhan said it was just an empty room. The girl expected more from the castle than an empty room and could hardly believe that there was an empty room in a place that was so magical and filled with wonderment. But she still trusted Aodhan's words and was disappointed there could be a place so boring in a castle that seemed so interesting. "Yeah, I guess. It's better than not having a chill spot." She answered, shrugging while her gaze moved to the floor which she absent mindedly kicked at with her shoe. A chill spot was fine and dandy, and of course useful, but she expected more from this expedition with her friend. She followed Aodhan into the room, keeping close to him as she looked around to observe their surroundings with the little light they had. It really was just empty, and boring, with old chairs and desks covered in dust and pushed to both sides of the room. In a huff, Andi kicked the ground harder and said "I thought this would be better, dammit!" In a voice she made no effort to keep hushed. Shaking her head, Andi then said "Where else do you want to go?" because she wanted to make sure they discovered something cool that night, to make their mission worthwhile. She didn't want to risk getting in trouble for nothing, after all. Even when Aodhan had a plan of what they could do if they got caught.

Aodhan quickly turned around at hearing Andi's loud voice. ''Keep your voice down, idiot.'' he said, walking in circles in the hope that he would notice something he hadn't noticed before. ''I don't want a professor to hear us.'' Though Aodhan had thought of a plan just in case the two of them would get caught eventually, he was hoping that it wouldn't have to come to it. He stopped walking in circles and looked back at his friend when he was asked what else he wanted to go to. He hadn't really thought about that to be honest, as he was mostly excited to see whether the tales that were told about this room were true or not. Aodhan shrugged, ''I hadn't thought about where to go next yet.'' He said. ''Maybe we could go outside? Explore the grounds?'' the Gryffindor suggested, hoping that his friend was OK with going outside of the castle rather than sneaking around inside where a lot of professors were probably patrolling corridors.

Andi simply crossed her arms over her chest in a huff when Aodhan told her to keep it down. Getting caught was the last thing either of them wanted, but Andi could not help but show the anger she felt towards finding a room so boring in a castle she was told would have a secret hidden behind every corner. She nodded when Aodhan suggested they explore the school grounds. It would be easier to hide from professors but also easier to get themselves into a situation much more dangerous if the stories she heard about the forbidden forest were anything to go by, which caused Andi to shrug then unfold her arms, letting them hang by her sides. This abandoned room was a disappointment to say the least, with the stories Andi had heard misleading her. She didn't see why the grounds would be any different and why they shouldn't take a look around outside if it would be just as disappointing. "We should just go, then. See if outside is better than this stupid room." She said, waiting for Aodhan to lead the way again.

Aodhan glanced at his friend as she spoke, slowly walking towards the door. He knew how she felt because he was feeling the same way but unlike her, the Gryffindor continued to be optimistic about their chances of finding something awesome, even if he had hoped that everything he heard about this room would have been true. Aodhan turned to Andi, ''I know it's not what we thought, or hoped, it would be. But remember that it is our first night here, we will find something cool eventually.'' he smiled and stepped through the doorway back into the candlelit corridor of the second floor. Aodhan wasn't exactly sure as to where they would go once they actually managed to sneak outside, but was sure that it would be a lot of fun roaming around the grounds at midnight. Looking behind his schoulder, the boy gestured his friend to come out since there was no reason for them to stay inside the castle any longer.

Scouring the castle late at night was one of the most boring jobs Aeon could possibly do as a professor. Walking up and down the hallways with nothing but a wandlight was a dreary task, and wasn't always the most fruitful. It felt like, every time it was his turn to patrol the castle after curfew, every child was on their best behaviour. Or perhaps he was just oblivious to those wandering around, who knew. Either way, the wizard wished he could simply return to his home for the night instead, or at least have a partner to patrol with in the late hour.

The animagus' rounds took him to the second floor, with only two floors left before he'd decide to retire to his office. He was in the middle of rubbing the sleep from his eyes, trying to stay awake long enough to complete his task, when he overheard two low voices from one of the nearby rooms. Instantly jolting to attention, the professor grinned, extinguishing the light of his wand as he approached the sound of the voices. Moments later, the door in front of him creaked open, and a small boy exited the abandoned classroom, his attention directed not toward the corridor, but at his companion still within the room. Lumos. Aeon mentally incanted, reigniting the tip of his wand and flooding the corridor with light. "Surprise. Twenty points from Gryffindor." He said aloud, smiling pleasantly at the two young children despite the punishment he was enforcing. He couldn't be angry, he did the same thing as a child, but he took a small joy in the authority he had.

Andi stood still, nodding when Aodhan assured her they would find something cool eventually. It did little to help her mood but she appreciated the sentiment. She began to step forward and follow behind him to the grounds as he directed her to leave the room, however was interrupted by a bright light suddenly illuminating the corridor. Andi held her hand above her eyes to shield them from the light and looked towards Aodhan, half confused by this development, and half expecting him to tell whoever interrupted them their excuse for being out so late in one of the lower corridors. She wasn't sure how well the excuse would go down now that points had been deducted from them but she was sure she trusted Aodhan's judgement and felt comfort their excuse was certainly better than nothing.

Glad that Andi followed him out of the classroom, Aodhan stepped forward to walk towards the grounds, although before he could take another step a bright light emerged out of nowhere. Closing his eyes because the light hurt them, the boy slowly opened one after a few seconds to see who it was that had made the light appear. ''Please don't, sir'' he said quickly in the hope that the man wouldn't actually deduce points from them. ''We were looking for my aunt's office, that's all!'' Aodhan told the professor, though he had a hard time looking at the man's face because of the bright light. He wasn't sure if the professor would actually believe it but he sure as hell could try to get of this situation.

Summers had expected some sort of excuse, it was typical, after all. Few children actually admitted they were actively and knowingly breaking the rules, but the excuse he was given was far from inventive. These two wouldn't exactly pass for Ravenclaws. "Right. And you decided that the best time for this was in the dead of night because...?" Relative or not, there was hardly any reason to go visiting a professor's office past bedtime. Not every professor slept in the castle overnight, either. "I would suggest you go looking for your common room instead, otherwise we could go and wake up your head of house. She'd be thrilled, I'm sure." The wizard stepped back, moving his wandlight to illuminate the staircase at the end of the corridor, and gestured for them to take the lead.
