The Gryffindor teen didn't feel like this would ever happen, their tentative but strong friendship which felt good in a way was being pushed a little into a realm Ailsa Evans didn't entirely know. She had always really spent her time at the Yuleball with Archie, or Lydia but this year she'd been properly asked to the Yuleball, by Logan nonetheless and Ailsa didn't know what to expect from an evening with him, in her mind aside from sitting together in class, they'd never been pretty public about their friendship, now people would see it and she didn't want to put Logan under any undue stress that might come with it, she didn't expect there to be, but Ailsa had been proven wrong before. It had been difficult to pick out a dress that she knew that she liked that he might also appreciate, she wanted to impress Logan, she wanted him to like her, so she'd opted for a formal but simple black dress, and had for once done more with her hair than a failed messy bun.

The teen slipped on her heels and then wandered down to the Gryffindor common room with a small, nervous smile on her lips, she wanted to have fun and she wanted Logan to have fun, even if it might be quite difficult to do. She knew that if anything happened, his many trusted friends would descend and help defend him, but her focus was just on making sure Logan was okay, she'd even thought of devising a signal or code word for when he wanted to leave, so that the moment he wanted to she wouldn't even question it. The girl looked down at her shoes and tried to focus on just having a good time, to just having fun with him, and not worrying about this that or the other thing. Ailsa glanced up at the dorm rooms and hoped that Logan would hurry up so that they could go, she didn't mind waiting around normally but she was wearing heels and didn't want to be stood about for too long periods of time.

Logan Vacarius spent extra time on his appearance than he normally did, even resorting to cosmetics to cover the dark circles around his eyes because of the lack of sleep. He felt awkward buying these things for him, but it had to be done. He had asked Ailsa to the Yule Ball with him, because he had a great sense of care for her, and affection he was coming forth to know. There was nothing that would stop him from going to the event tonight. He straightened his jacket, and made sure that he was good enough to go down there. His self esteem recently plummeted, and he was trying to cover that up. Deciding that this was good enough, he walked down to the common room from the dorms, and his eyes were welcomed with a blessing. It was Ailsa, and she was absolutely beautiful. The fact that they weren't really seen together, and now would be, it was a sense of fear and hesitation, but this was going to be fun. Logan was staring at her with his mouth parted ever so slightly, before it was changed into a smile. "You are beautiful, Ailsa," Logan finally said, the smile barely reaching his eyes. Exhaustion rested within his brain, but he was just thankful that tonight was a night with no worries.

Ailsa hadn't been waiting too long when Logan arrived at the common room, speaking and smiling at her and she returned the smile, although the fact that his smile barely resembled those first smiles she remember was noted in her mind. At his compliment she blushed lightly and smiled at him, "Thanks," she glanced down at the dress before looking at him, carefully looking at his own appearance, "You look very handsome, Logan," she replied without missing a beat, and meeting his gaze, she knew that things were hard for him, and she had never been the type of person to force anyone else into doing anything, she just wanted Logan to feel comfortable around her in the same way that she felt comfortable around him. She had these strange growing feelings towards him and wasn't too sure what to do with them, or how to act on them, she could just here Archie laughing at her in the background at her lack of action, but this Yuleball would be good.

Ailsa reached out and lightly took his hand in hers, lacing her fingers between his before then silently leading him to the Yuleball, she knew that it might be a little difficult for Logan considering the amount of people, but she wanted them to have as much fun as they could out and about in the school rather than hidden up in the Gryffindor common room. As soon as they reached the Great Hall, she lead him out to the dance floor and she was thankful it was a slow song currently playing, and then turned to face him with a small smile, closing the gap between them, and guiding his other hand to be around her, settling on the small of her back, as she brought him close, guiding them to the music, leaning her head against his lightly with a small smile on her face. She was trying to make him as comfortable as possible and be lost in their own little world on this busy dance floor.

The moment she complimented him, red painted across his cheeks, and Logan could do nothing to stop it. At least he looked relatively normal, except for his facial expressions. Anything to carry on as if nothing happened. Logan averted his gaze after a moment of meeting hers, since he was nervous about this whole ordeal. What if something happened? Chaos was no longer at the school, but that entire family was. And he didn't know if they thought the same way that Chaos did. Logan brushed this out of his mind as they made their way out of the Gryffindor house and to the Great Hall. Eventually, they walked to the dance floor, where a slow song met his ears. His other hand was guided to the small of her back, and the dance began. He rested his head on hers, closing his eyes to enjoy the song. His eyes opened after a few moments, only to see the nurse that treated his injuries, dancing with some really, really butch lady. Wait, that was no lady. He murmured, "Lucius is here. With a man." Logan chuckled, but he did not move from his position. He was too comfortable like this, despite being in a large crowd. Ailsa just made him feel calm and relaxed.

Ailsa had thought this entire event might be a little intense and a little difficult, but she felt like he shouldn't have to restrict himself because of what had happened, and she wanted to provide support to him in any way possible, spending this night with him would be great and perhaps allow him a little bit of time to relax which was what she wanted him to be able to do. The slow song was just right for what they needed, a little lull into the night and she too closed her eyes when he did, only reopening them when he spoke, leaning slightly away to take a look at the nurse who had helped him, and the person he was with, it was a little funny to Ailsa, but each to their own, "Those nurses are strange people," she said with a light chuckle looking back at him and leaning back into him, she felt comfortable around him, it was easy to her to just spend this quiet moment with him, even in amongst all this noise. She lightly squeezed his hand and continued smiling. She wanted to put her arms around him, but she didn't want to make him uncomfortable, instead she just pulled away slightly and just looked up at him, though they only had a marginal height difference. She ran a hand lightly down his cheek leaning in slightly, her hand settling on the side of his face, her eyes never leaving his, she was so glad he'd asked her.
