It was December; the epitome of cold. Yet outside is where Abigail Lurken sat, bundled up in a black leather jacket she had "borrowed" from a Hufflepuff girl she didn't know - nor care to find - the name of.

Her intoxicating gaze set upon a bed of welted roses, she frowned through her eyes but the right corner of her lips twitched upwards into a smile; today had been a good day for her. But then again any day that she decided to actually get out of bed was one.

Abbey raised her fridged hands to her mouth and exhaled deeply, in attempts to warm her dainty fingers. She sighed as she raised her left hand higher up on her face and rubbed her left eye vigorously as she lowered her right onto her lap.

She put her hand back on her lap and interlaced it with her other hands' fingers. She closed her violet eyes for a fraction of a second, only because she had heard footsteps come towards her. Her heart speed up nervously, and she tore her hands apart from each other and gripped the end of her shirt tightly.

Please be someone I know, she thought anxiously as she scanned the rose bush and landed upon the entrance. She smiled as she saw that the person that had entered was a familiar face, and one that she enjoyed the company of, Theodore Snow. Her eyes lit up with gentle joy, and her cheeks suddenly flushed at the sight of him.

As she set her gaze on his cool green eyes she raised her hand and ran her fingers through her long brown locks, then let her fingers become easily entangled with the ends of her hair, she flashed Theo a pretty smile before getting her hand out of her hair and putting it on the wooden bench she sat on.

Abbey nudged her head to the left, indicating Theo to come sit beside her, as she put the hand that lay on her lap on the bench right beside her thin legs. She hunched over lightly so her arms were locked straight, then kicked the drifting snow beneath her with her left foot then her right, swinging as if they were pendulums as she looked back over to him and mouthed, Hey you.

Sorry lame post

Theodore lagged out into the Garden tiredly. He was pretty tired from today's lessons and was extremely tempted to head back to the common room and take a long nap. However he had an important question for Abbey and was very keen on asking her.

Once he entered the garden he immediantly saw her and and slowly walked over. He casually let his hands slide up to fiddle with his Slytherin tie as he walked over to her. Once he sat down next to her he smiled and flipped his hair away from his face.

"You look cute today...." Theodore muttered and pulled his bag off of his shoulders and looked at her. "Anyways, I really need to ask you a question."

Abbey blushed at Theodore's complement and smiled at him, as if thanking him for his compliment and returning his for one of her own, and said, "Ask away Theo." She bit her cheek as she waited for his question, part of her expected it to be something to do with what she had told him in the common room about why she was here, but part of her hoped that it would be about the ball.

Alyssa had suggested that she ask him out but Abbey was too shy and scared to ever do something of the sort, perhaps in a few years, but she doubted that she would ever get over her fear, it would still be hanging over her, waiting for the perfect moment when she was dreadfully weak to snap that onto her to hurt her even more.

Theodore smirked at her nervousness. Abbey was acting as if Theodore was about to bite her head off. Which wasn't too far off. Theodore did often like to scare people with his attitude. But he rarely actually ever meant it. Especially not to some poor girl he just met this year.

"Hmm...well I was actually wondering if you wanted to come to the Yule Ball with me?" Theodore asked a little shyly. It wasn't that he was worried that she'd say no. But his last relationship really put a damper on his view of most girls. He hoped Abbey would never be like that.

"Well...you don't have to...unless you want to. But it's totally...god I'm babbling." Theodore groaned.

Abbey blushed wildly at Theodore's question and she smiled brightly at him then said, "I'd love to." She smiled at him and said, "Don't worry you're cute when you babble." She giggled cutely into her hand as she waited for his response, she really didn't understand why he seemed so shy suddenly, it wasn't as if she had hidden her crush on him, she just couldn't be bothered to do so. She smiled warmly at him and looked into Theo's bright green eyes with her own violet eyes, as hers danced warmly at him. She bit her lip shyly as she waited for his response to hers.

"Haha cool." Theodore smiled and reached up to scratch his head shyly. He was actually surprised that she had said yes. He thought she was going to say no and that she totally didn't think of him that way.

"So....do you have a dress and everything for it and stuff?" Theodore asked making sure she had everything.

Abbey smiled at Theo and said, "Yes, I've altered one I already have so it is sort of acceptable." She let out a small sigh in relief, not because she had a date to the ball but because he didn't want to ask her something else, something worse, much worse, though she wasn't even sure what he could ask her.

"Good. So I guess I'll meet you at the bottom of the stairs whent he Ball?" Theodore asked with a small smile. He was hoping she'd agree to meet him here so he wouldn't have to search for her. He also was really curious about what her dress looked like. Girls sometimes wore some of the most interesting outfits.

Abbey smiled at Theo and said, "Sounds great." She ran her fingers through her hair, moving her her bangs out of her face but as she put her hand back down on her lap a lock of her hair fell in front of her face, hiding her eyes from Theo like a small shield that hid how much she was gawking at him inside.
