Closed Illumination and concealment

Linden was sitting in the student lounge a candle on the table in front of him and his wand in his hand. there were a few spells he wanted to practice before the exams and it seemed that the three of them worked well together. first of all was the Disillusionment charm. he cast it on the candle and it faded as if melting very quickly leaving just the idea of its former self behind. next, for herbology. he raised his wand and pointed it at the candle "Incendio" he said. this was not a new spell and the wick lit straight away looking slightly odd a flame floating in mid air unless you were looking closely. the professor had asked them to practice spells that would deflect devils snare and as the plant hated light and heat and, well, fire was both. it fit criteria. once the flame was burning steadily he raised his wand again. this time casting the flame freezing spell. this charm took a couple of attempts but eventually when he passed his hand above the fire he felt it cool against his skin like having cool water running over it. just a bit of a tickle.
He looked out of the window at the Quidditch pitch. It was a little too far away to see the figures clearly but he knew that Lucas and the rest of his friends on the Hufflepuff team, and, of course, Connor, would be there, training for their next match against Gryffindor. He wasn't angry or bitter any more, well not much. He also wasn't ready to apologise or admit he was wrong because he wasn't wrong. and he defiantly wasn't going to beg to be back on the team again. he would try out next year. but he wasn't going to beg now. "Ouch" he said jumping in his seat and jerking his hand away from the candle as the heat returned. not enough focus on any charm had the potential to reduce it's effect, clearly the flame freezing charm was no exception.
