If Only

[Clementine Pratt]

After Anthony had broken up with her last year Clementine had done a lot of thinking about the past two years with him. The breakup had seemed sudden and unexpected at the time, but when looking back at things, she knew deep down in her heart she had never loved Anthony quite like how she felt for someone else. Clementine had liked Teddy since the first year they'd met, and she had tried to tell him that with a pink rose all those years ago, but he hadn't caught on to the fact that she sent it, so Clementine had never thought to ask him about it. Now that Clementine was older and had untangled the mess of feelings she went through after her break up, she was ready to be more clear with him and confess the feelings she had secretly harbored for him all these years. She was single and he was single, so if things went well, they could be something. But if it turned out he didn't return the feelings, then perhaps she could simply have her best friend back, because all her time with Anthony had made them more distant than she liked and now she wouldn't have anything stopping them from hanging out.

Clementine considered asking Teddy to meet her in the Student Lounge when she said she wanted to tell him something big, but she wanted a little more privacy in case things went badly, she didn't want an audience. The way Anthony had broken up with her in the Student Lounge instead of in the privacy of their common room or dorm room still didn't sit well with her, but she had not talked to him since, they had been quietly avoiding each other. Instead Clem decided to meet Teddy in the garden because she liked to spend time there and she knew not many people frequented it as often. The Hufflepuff followed a path in the garden and finally sat on a bench as she waited for him to show up.

[Thaddeus Miller]

Thaddeus was very happy that he did not have to worry about important exams this year. Of course there was the end of the year exams but those seemed like a piece of cake after the ones he had to do during the previous year. His results were good enough to keep his parents satisfied, which meant that he was still allowed to follow in his brother's footsteps and become a member of the Beast Division. Instead of doing any of his homework, because he would get that done in the evenings when he was alone in the common room, the Gryffindor helped his girlfriend with studying for her OWLs. He enjoyed his time with Beaubelle a lot so decided to take her along with him to meet Clementine, as he had not introduced her to his best friend yet. Thaddeus smiled at his girlfriend and reached for her hand whilst on their way to the garden. He was happy that Clementine wanted to hang out again because it had been some time since they had last done that. ''She's a really nice person, she is.'' He really hoped that the two of them would get along just fine so they could all hang out more often. When Beaubelle and he arrived at the meet-up spot in the garden, Thaddeus called out his best friend's name and waved at her, smiling brightly at the Hufflepuff.
