As the evening drew closer, Nephy headed towards the place she knew she'd see several friendly faces. She was slightly disappointed not to have found Rohan for a few days, but she had it safe in mind that he wouldn't be avoiding her. In fact, the last time they met, she'd been sure he'd been looking for her. Shrugging this off, she pushed open the extremely heavy door and, holding several books about music, struggled to push her way inside. It looked a little bit of a sight, though had anyone offered to help her she would have refused. She liked to think that she could cope on her own, even if her small build meant that almost every task became a nightmare.
Nephy looked up, spotting several faces she knew and feeling warm at once. There was a fire going at the side of the grand room, and several unoccupied armchairs were dotted around. She picked one not so close to the fireplace that she'd feel the effects of the heat, but close enough that her currently cold toes would feel the warmth when she slipped off her shoes and tucked her legs up to her chest. The armchair swamped her like a big hug, and she placed the books down next to her. Though she had actually lent them out of the library to impress her friend about her knowledge of music, she would never have admitted so. Not without a very embarassing blush, anyway. Nephy wasn't the kind of girl to try and impress boys. She was only eleven. Twelve in a month, she reminded herself, smiling away as she opened the first page of one of her books and found herself completely lost almost straight away.

Damien walked the corridors of the Hogwarts school. He had his guitar strapped around his back and he had a small manuscript and a pencil and rubber in his pocket.THis is how he looked most days when he wasn't going to class.he usuallu brought his guitar everywhere else with him in case a song came to his head.Since returning to school he had filled up one of his manuscipts already and he had sent a letter to his mam to ask her to send him more.It was weird writing a letter to his mam and not his aunt. For the past ten years of his life he had always relied on his aunt who had raised him.But now he actually had parents, they hadn't abandoned him, they just hadn't been able to take care of him so they had given him to his aunt.he had spent most of hid life thinking they had hated him and he had never been good at making friends because he had thought it his parents didn't like him who else would?Another reason for not having many friends was the fact that he had magic and where he was from he had to hide it because everyone would laugh at him and bully him.He had done a goos job of it until some big bully had seen him so magic,he had told Damien that he was a freak and Damien had been so p!ssed that he had punched him and in the end they had both ended in hospital and Damien had a scar going down his back to prove it.he hadn't gone back to school after that, his aunt had taught him. That was why when he had received the letter he hadn't wanted to go because he believed it was the cause of all his misery but after class and some persuasion from his friends he had learned to love magic and was becoming a fast learner. He had made his way down to the fourth floor corridor,he contemplated going to the library but then he remembered he wouldn't be able to play his guitar there so he walked into the STudent Lounge instead. He had neevr been there before. When he walked in there were a few people sitting in armchairs reading and talking, there was a fire lighting to.Damien walked over to an armchair near the fire and took out his guitar and manuscript. He left the guitar beside him and sat there waiting to see would a song appear.

Nephy's eyes scanned the words in her heavy book, and yet it was all nonsensical. She wasn't dyslexic, but she realised that learning about music was going to take a little more than just reading it from a book, and quite frankly, she wasn't sure if she could be bothered. Her eyes flitted up as a boy she was sure she'd met before sat down next to her, and a small smile spread across her face. It was then that he noticed the boy - who she recalled was Damien - had a guitar with him. Her eyes filled with excitement immediately. She didn't need to tell Damien why she had a sudden interest in music, but the was the perfect opportunity to learn a little something and impress her friend. 'Hey,' she started, smiling so that Damien knew it was a friendly hey, not an arrogant one. Although how a young girl like Nephy could be arrogant she wasn't sure. 'You play the guitar?' she asked in earnest, her smile reaching her dark brown eyes excitedly. She hadn't known Damien was musical, although in her brief encounter with him in the library, she hadn't learned much about him at all except his name and that he seemed to be a fairly nice person. She hoped that the boy hadn't been in a particularily good mood when she'd met him before, and now he was going to turn out to be rude or obnoxious. This made her lower her head a little, but she couldn't help but be interested in his guitar. If only I could play it, thought Nephy, blushing a little at the though that she was going to learn a musical instrument just for a friend. But right now, she didn't really care.

There was something to be said about Lola. When she got into something she really got into it. At the moment she wore neon green plastic tubing in her pony-tail and her clothes where mostly black with a green shirt of the same shade poking out from under it and around the sleeves. The change wasn't so profound that it affected her personality thought she was told that she looked a bit more aggressive but inside she was still the happy and sparkling personality that made her known through out the school whether for good or bad. She flopped down on one of the arm chairs her black sneakers in the air as she rested her legs on the arm of the chair. She looked over at the two first years and smiled wide as she looked from one to the other. "Am I interrupting something?" She asked grinning. It was common for Lola to pick up conversation with anyone in the room though there where times when she got into arguments because of it. She was a really friendly girl but it came with the territory when one had way too much energy and seemed to have endless things to talk about

Damien was in people would call his happy place,it was where he went when he was think of songs.he spent a lot of his time there, yet he had no idea what it actually was.All he knew was that a song usually came to him when he was in this place.THoughts of his new parents, his aunt, his friends and Hogwarts were flying through his brain and he felt the lyrics of song coming along but before he could grasp it a voice brought him back to the real world.he looked up and saw a girl he recognized from somewhere sitting beside him.he hadn't heard what she had said at first but he heard what she said next "Oh yeah, since I was seven"he said still a bit dazed but quickly coming to grasp what was happening. He smiled at the girl beside him "Nephy, right?"He asked,he was almost sure she was the girl from the library,he hadn't talked to er for long but she had seemed nice and even though he had lost the song he was glad of her company. They were then joined by an older student,Damien couldn't help the blush even though she was only messing and he and Neohy were totall innocent he still couldn't help the red color come to his cheeks "No,I'm Damien by the way"He added

Nephy grinned and nodded, for some reason pleased that Damien had remembered her name. She smiled again when he repeated his name, not mentioning that she had remembered. When a girl joined them, both of the first years seemed to blush awkwardly, despite the fact they had just been chatting. 'Oh, no not at all.' Nephy loved people with interesting personalities, and it was clear to her that this girl had a very unique but friendly one. 'I'm Nephy,' she said, turning back to Damien and suddenly thinking of something she could say. It reddenned her cheeks more and she hung her head, her blonde curly hair covering her blush. It took her a moments hesistation to pluck up the courage to ask, and she regretted it before it had left her lips. 'Can you play me something?' she asked, wishing she'd left out the 'Me' part as it now felt like a personal request. She should have just asked him 'To play something', but of course Nephy had a habit of getting everything wrong. She groaned inwardly and hoped Damien and the girl wouldn't have noticed her silly mistake and the pink tinge covering most of her face. It hit her then that she could perhaps fix what she'd said. 'I mean, I'd like to hear you.. uh, play,' Nephy felt like crying and laughing at the same time for getting herself further into trouble. It had been inevitable, but she'd gone ahead and said it anyway, like a very red idiot.

Lola looked from one to the other then shook her head. "If you two where any redder you'd be nicknamed tomatoes." She said jokingly. "Names Lola Caracola, some people can't pronounce the last name so they tend to call me Cherry Cola. You guys can to if you feel like it."
Lola said brightly as she tried to ease the awkwardness in the room. Had she been this shy when she had been a first year? The answer came to her as soon as she asked it to herself. No she hadn't been but then it payed to be extremely extroverted sometimes. She heard the girl correct herself and laughed. "If you can play that well I'd like to her one too Damian, see if you can make me stumble over my words too." She said again joking. She wasn't making fun of the girl. Lola was letting the girl know that she didn't think anything 'wrong' about what was happening here. Not that liking someone was wrong.

Damien smiled, again he was in the presense of girls.for some reason since entering Hogwarts he had made more girlfriends then boy friends,he wasn't paticularly worried at the moment, but he hoped he made some more friends with the boys in his year.Damien couldn't help his cheeks flaming red again when he was teasted again.Damien smiled "Sure, anything in paticular?"He asked putting his guitar and strumming the strings just to make sure it was in tune. His guitar was his most prized possession and he wouldn never let anything happen to it.he didn't notice her stumbling over her words,Damien wasn't that observant. He liked the other girls name,it was nice and fun to say.Damien smiled and stummed his guitar waiting for a suggestion.

Sorry

Lola's comment made Nephy turn an even brighter shade of red, but she smiled bashfully. 'Lola's a lovely name,' she said, and then giggled at the idea of someone being called Cherry Cola. Turning to Damien, Nephy felt lost for words. She didn't know many songs, and she'd never been a huge fan of music anyway. Her eyes darted from side to side thoughtfully as she struggled to think, as she always did when put on the spot. 'Sorry... Can you choose please?' she asked, wondering if Lola would help her out and suggest something. The whole situation was really doing nothing to help the colour of her cheeks, though she was starting to find the whole situation pretty amusing. At least having Lola there was easing the awkwardness of it all. Nephy found that around some boys, she was a little uncomfortable, which didn't surprise her. That was why when she found one she got along with well, she savoured their friendship.

Lola searched the music library in her head. Lola couldn't hold to tune and wasn't very talented with any instrument but she did love to listen. "If you know Rasputina you could do a guitar version of 'Mama was an Opium Smoker' If you don't know it then you choose." She said. It was the first song that popped into her head that wasn't the industrial stuff that she was listening too as of late. She loved the music because it got her moving. It was impossible for her to stay still whenever dark rave music started to play. It wasn't that big of a problem though because hardly one at Hogwarts had even heard of that kind of music. She started to wonder if wizards had subcultures like muggles did.
