Abby was happy. She had been waiting for the right time to talk to Jasper and now that he was going to have a few days off, she was sure that now would be the perfect time. Emily and Nathaniel were at Stephanie's house and so she was busy making lunch for herself and Jasper. It was nothing elaborate, simply Fried Rice, but the way Abby did it, Jasper and the twins loved it. She was hoping that Jasper would figure that she wanted to talk about something because she was actually making the food herself. Normally she would just order something as she is rarely home during the school term, but she only had one class this Semester and it wasn't until Friday anyway. She smiled to herself as she heard Jasper walk into the room. She looked over her shoulder and called out to him. "Lunch will be ready in a moment Hun, why don't you just take a seat?" She turned back to the wok and flipped it a few more times before removing it from the stove. She didn't know if other magical families cooked like this. But she had always been one too do things the muggle way. That was part of the reason she was the Muggle Studies Professor, she was sure. At Austiin's place, everything was done using magic. She had no idea how Austiin ever burnt their old place down, considering that they do everything using magic. It was kind of silly. Abby dished the Fried Rice into two bowls and walked them into the dining room. Jasper liked to eat on the couch, but Abby had never allowed that. Not even Emily and Nathaniel got to do that. She was never allowed to do it as a child, so why would she allow her children to do it. Besides, they always spilled and she would have this massive mess to clean up.

Abby placed the bowls on the table and called Jasper in. She sat at the table and crossed her legs, bringing the chopsticks up to her mouth. She kept peeking at Jasper every now and then to gage his mood. He seemed to be in a rather good mood, which was not surprising. He had been in a perpetual good mood lately, which was just fine with her. The better his mood, the more willing he was to conversate. Abby, placed her chopsticks on the table and looked up at Jasper waiting for him to do the same. If he hadn't suspected something was up before, he definitely would figure it out now. Once she was sure she had his attention, she cleared her throat and began. "Jas, I know you are probably not going to like this, but you have to promise to hear me out. Okay?" Abby asked as she looked him in the eye. She was going to talk about this whether he wanted to or not. "Okay, so I have been thinking on this for a while. And you remember I told you when we first met, that I wanted a really big family. And I'm fine with only having he twins. I love them, but... I really want to have another baby." She bit her lip as she said it. Physically she was still fit enough to have a baby. She was only thirty one after all. Mentally and Financially they were well endowed enough to support another child and she was sure that the twins would like having a little baby around the house. Abby was determined that she would take more of a hands on approach with this child as well. She still regretted that she had not been around much for the twins and she really did feel bad about it. She had always told herself that she would be a better mother then her mother and now look at what had happened. "Come on Jas, please say something." She asked as she twirled her fingers around the chopsticks on the table.

As soon as Jasper got home, he knew that Abby was planning something. He would not have married her if he failed to read her like a picture book. Abby was incapable of hiding things from him. It was just her personality. He suspiciously sat down at the table, observing her closely. What was she up to? She was even cooking for the sake of Merlin. It was disturbing and making the man uncomfortable. This was against normal routine, and Jasper lived on routines. She was even cooking the Muggle way. He sighed and sat rigidly at the table. This was going to be a long day. He would rather return to work. What was she going to talk about this time? It wasn't about those blasted flobberworms, was it? The kids had one, and that was enough. They did not need a farm, nor did they need little broomsticks or anything like that. Broomsticks for children were wrong, Emily and Nathanial would just have to wait until they were at school before they could touch a broom. He was not in the mood to touch on those subjects again, he had placed his perfectly reasonable arguments and that was final. He was the one spending the majority of his time with the kids, they would live by his rules. Jinxx smiled when Abby came and he decided that the best thing to do was to eat this quick, and hope that a disaster happened at work and he needed to be called in.

Jasper quickly noted that Abby was looking at him regularly, more so than usual. When she placed her chopsticks down, Jinxx continued to eat. He was willing to listen to her, but he was famished. The start of her argument already made Jasper wish for a nice, silent lunch. However, Abby liked to talk, and as her husband, it was his job to humour her. He nodded and continued to eat. It was probably going to be the same stuff, he felt prepared for this. Somehow, this turned into a family thing. His memory backed her up, she had wanted a big family. Was not two children and two parents big enough? What with the circus that happens around here with Stephanie and Speed coming in and out, and Austiin and Cameron, Tommy, Wynter, Oliver and every other person they know just gallivanting through here. The house was busy enough, and they had a big family, in Jasper's eyes. However, even though his mind had made the connection, Abby actually saying it made his rice attack his throat. Slowly, he put his sticks down and sighed. "Abby, we have a big family. As it is you're already busy with work, there is no point in complicating things further. The kids are happy with each other, never have I heard them desire another sibling," he explained, in a matter-of-fact tone. "You need to think about this properly. We do not have the room for another child, we would have to move."

Abby watched at Jasper seemed to be processing the information. She knew it was going to be like this but she had to talk to him. Sure, he lived on routines and the twins had disturbed the routine in a number of ways for the first year and a half of their lives, but was it really too much to ask for another baby? Abby honestly did not think that this request was a big one. She was just trying to get closer to the large family she had always dreamed of. Why was Jasper so hesitant about it? She didn't think it would be this hard. She had really only asked as a formality, she wasn't expecting this at all. She blinked alittle when he started to choke on his rice and she reached over to squeeze his arm in mild concern. She wasn't overly worried that he was choking, she figured that it was only in reference to what she had said. She knew he was going to try and talk her out of it, but it was not going to work. She wanted another baby and she was not going to back down. She had hoped that Jasper would see it her way, but obviously that was now off of the table. Abby sighed as she leaned back and picked at her rice as Jasper spoke. He made a good argument, but she already knew what she was going to say. They were financially secure, they had the time to plan this out, she could afford to wait another three to four years if she had too. She was a witch, unlike muggles, they were still physically fit later in life. Heck some muggle had been known to have babies at older ages, she had heard of one becoming pregnant at seventy five. Of course, Abby didn't think she would want to wait that long, it was a bit long to wait after all. But if she had to wait until forty she would, but she was going to have another baby. She already spoke to Speed and Steph and they were all for it. Of course they didn't fully understand the whole children thing, considering Speed didn't have much contact with Mikki and the baby and Steph had no children and no prospects to have any. But it still counted as far as Abby was concerned.

Abby looked up when Jasper finished and she leaned over the counter slightly, picking some of the rice out of his bowl, whether he liked it or not. She was going to have a serious talk with Jasper whether it killed him. He went into this marriage knowing she wanted a big family. He always claimed he could read her like a book and under normal circumstances he was right about that too. She was rather disappointed that he hadn't picked up about this weeks ago. Abby straightened up and made a start on her side of the argument. He was not getting all the air time in this one. "Jas, I have time off all the time and I can visit on weekends. We have plenty of money to support a family and I can guarantee that Emily would want another sibling. I think Nathaniel would like one as well, give him a chance to see what a protective older brother feels like. I realise that this would all upset your beloved routine but what is the harm really? We can easily move, I had been thinking of moving closer to Austiin anyway, I am big on family as you know and I would love for Emily and Nate to be able to play with Mai-ling, they get along so well. I just don't see any merit in your objections Jas, I'm sorry." She told him. She hoped this wasn't going to end in a fight.
