It was around lunchtime as Mikayla Blade flicked her wand to start lunch for her baby boy. Caedan had turned two not long ago and she had recently decided that it was time for the two year old to meet his father. She was lucky so far, as the toddler had yet to figure out that some-one was missing from his family and Mikayla had mentioned him in passing so that when this day came, he would be prepared. However, the only one who was nervous right now, was herself, she hadn't seen Speed since the night that they broke up, having decided that she wasn't ready for the level of commitment he wanted. However, she had not known until several weeks later that they were now to be bound to each other for the rest of their loves. She wasn't sure why she had hid Caedan's existence from Speed for as long as she did, but now that she had let the cat out of the bag, she knew it was the right thing to do. He looked so much like Speed, it would have been impossible to hide if she had run into him. Though now that he was teaching at Hogwarts, she knew that it was only going to have been a matter of time before some-one figured it out, considering she lived so close and all. Steph had been a big help though, which was good as she hadn't been sure she was going to be able to handle all of this by herself. But she was better at it now, and didn't need Steph's help for much any more. Though seeing as Mikayla still had to work for a living, she sometimes called upon Steph for babysitting duties. She had to wonder how her friend was able to be so good with all those kids she was expected to look after. Mikayla was sure that it would have driven her mad, moths ago. But not Steph, she just seemed to zip around like no-ones business, it was amazing really.

Mikayla looked down the hall way to see Caedan's bedroom door open and his little feet hanging across the frame. It seemed he had gotten himself caught up in the drawers again. That boy sure did like to climb things, no matter what day it was. She shook her head and walked down the hall, laughing at the sight before her. "Caedan, baby, how did you get stuck like that?" She asked, carefully placing her arms around the youngsters waist and pulling him out of his predicament. "Merlin, you silly little monkey. What has mummy repeatedly told you about climbing your drawers? Or anything without me watching you?" Mikayla asked, looking her son in the eye as he squirmed to try and get away. He knew he was not in trouble, but that didn't stop him looking down a his tiny hands and sniffling slightly. Mikayla rolled her eyes. It was an act. His crocodile tears, something he evidently got from her side of the family. It was probably a good thing that her parents have not and will not ever meet him. She couldn't even think to the kind of damage her family could do to him. What with an insane Grandmother, Azkaban inhabitant of a Grandfather and an Uncle also in Azkaban. Not to mention that half her family were now members of some pretty dangerous groups. She didn't know much about it, and she really didn't care too. She was happy in her little two bed room apartment and it was going to stay that way, for as long as she needed it too anyway. "Sowy Mummy!" Caedan called out, throwing his tiny arms around his mother. It pulled Mikayla out of her thoughts and she quickly pulled her son closer to her, planting a his on his hair and walking into the living room, where she promptly deposited him on the floor, so that he would be ready to eat his lunch. She then proceeded to flick her wrist so that his lunch of noodles with chicken bits was sitting in front of him on the table. He did love his noodles, but Mikayla had to wonder when Speed would be around. She couldn't stay home forever and he had said that he would be over that day. What was taking him so long?

Speed's head was still spinning at an incredible rate. Two years. Two long years he had been oblivious because of Mikayla. The level of hurt he was feeling over what she had done was astounding even to him. He did not feel like he wanted to see her, but he had to. Since she had decided to finally tell him of their son, he wanted to see him. Immediately. He had waited long enough and it was finally time that he was able to see his son for himself and not have the people around him lying to him. It felt like the only people that had yet to lie to him were Abby and Lucas. That was just sad. Speed looked at his little niffler, Elvera, and shrugged. It was about time he robe-up and apparate over there. He really didn't want to go, simply because it was Mikayla Blade's home. The same girl that had destroyed his heart, and then lied to him for two straight years. Speed rarely held grudges - they were pointless things. But this situation seemed to call for it. It really wasn't a small thing. With a change of clothes, and a goblin coin in Elvera's grasp to keep him off his back and away from his feet, Speed locked his office and picked up a medium sized box from the corner. He was an animal lover, in fact, he often found himself preferring animals to people. He was also a Care of Magical Creatures professor, meaning that he could get his hands on quite a few creatures rather easily. Like he wasn't going to get something for his son. It was nothing too complicated - just a flooberworm. Mikayla lived in a magical place, so this would be okay. And he really didn't care if she had any objections. It had been two years. She owed him.

Speed apparated with the box into Mikayla's living room. His blue eyes found Mikayla first, and he smiled meekly. Already he felt the prickling of awkward air brushing against him. So, he moved his eyes to look down at the toddler eating noodles. Merlin he looked adorable. "Hello Mikayla," he greeted quietly, not taking his eyes off of Caedan. "Sorry I'm late, my niffler was giving me troubles." It was pretty obvious the boy was his, but he wanted Mikayla to confirm it. He wasn't sure why, but he felt that it would bring a sense of closure to this pathetic chapter of his life. "Is that him?"
