I roam the city in a shopping cart

[Aion Zephyr]

The last time Aion had been standing on this street, was just after his graduation when he'd been taking his apparition exam. It felt like a world away now that he walked the street, the sun hitting him straight in the face and warming him as he considered how much had changed in just a couple of months. The tattoo on his ring finger was a constant and comforting reminder of who he now was, and while it had never been in his original plans to spend any length of time back in New Zealand, it had been an easy decision to make given the change in circumstance.

Leaving Cyan as she prepared to return to her second semester had been the challenge they knew it would be, and the Magizoologist was already counting down the days until he'd be able to hold her in his arms again. Looking to the moment she was to graduate and the rest of their lives could begin, Aion wanted to make sure they were ready, which for the teen meant it was important he was able to support her. As he walked through the streets of the Harbour, his eyes were darting into the interior of each building as he weighed up his options, knowing he didn't want to waste the time he had to make a positive difference to her future.

[Ezra Cade]

Ezra had zero plans for life after graduating from Durmstrang, it wasn't like he needed a job after all. A lot had happened over the last few months. His father had died and Ezra was actually surprised by how little the event affected him. Ezra spent most of his time at the family estate in Virginia but occasionally circumstances brought him back to New Zealand. There was something about the country he had spent a little of his educational years in. The streets of Obsidian harbour were quiet when he first arrived but over time it became littered with people and that was when he hated it the most.

After spending briefly meeting his brother James in a bar had a few drinks with him and catching up on recent events. Like him, James seemed to be coping quite well with their family tragedy though apparently, their sister wasn't holding up so well. That news had moved him slightly, he had always had a soft spot for the younger Cade. Once things with James were done Ezra returned to the main street and needed to decide what to do with the rest of his day. Though perhaps the decision was made for him when he spotted a familiar face, first of Durmstrang then Hogwarts like himself. Aion Zephyr. An annoying pain in the a** when they were at Durmstrang together and someone not really on his radar at Hogwarts, at least not to the same degree. "Zephyr," Ezra called as he approached the man. "Been a while,"

There was so much to discuss and consider now that the door to their options had been flung wide open, and it was hard for the man to know what the best thing to do was. He was in the middle of his thoughts as he peered into a shop window when he heard his name, and turning he spotted someone he'd not come across for what felt like year. Perhaps it even had been. His eyes had landed on a student that he'd known from his days at Durmstrang, his associate during the time they'd both transferred to Hogwarts, not that Ezra had stayed there for very long. However he saw the guy in front of him in a slightly different light that when they'd last spoken. Aion had dated Maddie who now dated James, and as his brother he knew there would be perhaps a little tension in the air between them. Aion saw both Maddie and James as his friends, but unaware of what Ezra knew of the history between them, he hoped he wasn't about to make things more awkward for him. "Hey Ezra," he replied politely with a nod of his head. They'd been in the same year at school and no doubt he was here for his siblings during the holidays. "Doing a little Christmas shopping for the family?" he asked, unaware of any situations with the Cades that may have occurred in the last few months since his departure from Hogwarts.

Ezra had never been a big fan of Aion Zephyr, he was always a bit too good for his liking but the fact he had dated Maddie Walden and as a result made his brother miserable had somewhat raised his opinion of his former Durmstrang classmate. When he asked if Ezra was doing Christmas shopping for his family Ezra laughed. "No, I won't be seeing them over Christmas, but I just finished having a drink with James, he's so happy these days it makes me physically sick," Ezra scoffed. "What brings you here?"
