Serenity Dion was not the type of girl to stay in one place for long The only thing she could do that involved her having to remain focused was learning a new dance routine but most of the time she was still dancing and trying to mimic the teachers movements. She figured she would be able to make it through classes well enough as long as she remembered to stay focused and not let her mind run off somewhere in day dreamland. She hoped that the classes would be interesting enough for her to be able to keep her attention and focus because she was really excited to start classes and learning all the magic stuff that she had grown up seeing her mother, Mr and Mrs Jones do and then once she had finished school, Amelia.
It was lunch time and Serenity couldn't wait to get stuck into the amazing food that was prepared for the students in this school. She had missed breakfast so she was particularly hungry right now so she left before the majority of the Ravenclaw house made their way to the Great Hall. The hallways and staircases were relatively empty on her journey from the Ravenclaw tower down to the Great Hall. Serenity preferred travelling the halls when there were more people, as so far she had been extremely unlucky when it came to the staircases and more often than not they liked to move when she was on them and she always seemed to get lost. It was no secret that Serenity didn't have a great sense of direction so when the staircases moved on her she got lost really easily.
It was almost like the staircases knew it was her and were purposefully moving on her just to throw her off and make her even more hungry. Then like clockwork on the staircase between the fourth and third floor, the staircases jolted, making Serenity jump ever so slightly and began to move again. Holding on to the banister she looked down, she hated looking down to the bottom floor as it was so high up and Serenity wouldn't normally be afraid of heights but these constantly moving stairs just made it worse for her. Finally when they stopped Serenity saw the only other person on the staircase. Thank Merlin! she thought. The last few times she got stuck on the staircases she was on her own, hopefully this person had a better sense of direction than her. "Sorry. Hi. Do you know where we are and how to get down to the Great Hall?" she asked the girl, her voice ever calm. She figured she sounded almost silly asking but she hadn't explored much of the school yet so how was she to know where she was.
