Tomas had been sitting in the Courtyard for sometime, dressed in his Slytherin robes, with a book on his lap. Until his good friend Victoria arrived, and he gladly engaged in conversation with the slightly older girl. She was in third year, which made the boy slightly jealous. He wished he was simply born a little earlier, then he too would be in her year. He really wanted to be in Gryffindor also, simply because he had a friend in that house - and now his younger sister. It was just not fair. Everyone he wanted to be with was in Gryffindor. However, right now Tommy was feeling rather flustered, and it was his good friend's fault.

"Victoria!" Tomas exclaimed, hiding his face in shame. She was being so embarrassing. It was worse than being stuck with his father in a shopping centre for the sake of Merlin. "Just, just be quiet. Seriously. Don't talk about that stuff!" Tommy was twelve, after all, so he noticed that the other gender was quite different. The boy did not live under a rock. However, it was not like he liked girls or anything, they were just there. A necessity for the world, because it would be boring if there were just boys. Right? He most certainly did not like anyone, and that was final. He knew he didn't like anyone, because he was old enough and responsible enough to understand that he was way too young for relationships. And he had other things to focus on, like his education. He had been slacking in his first year, and his father had realised, and was not pleased. If he did not pick up his act, then he would be sent to Beauxbatons, or worse, home-schooled. Tomas loved his father, and knew that he was an intelligent man, being able to become an animagus and do other cool stuff, but Tommy did not want to stay in that house all the time. Cameron was there, and he was going to have more relatives in there soon, according to a letter he had received. He was just not prepared to be home-schooled with so much noise and people in the same area as him. Class rooms were hard, but a house full of people would be impossible.

He jumped slightly when he realised that he was staring at some random girl during his thoughts. He rolled his eyes, knowing that Victoria would so pick up on that, she always did. But he wasn't even staring at the girl, he did not even know her for Merlin's sake and had no interest in her. He was only interested in Victoria - but not in that way, because that would be really weird, so he told himself. He quickly looked back at Victoria, his jaw set in a firm line. "I was not looking at her," he blurted hurriedly. Little did he realise that he was probably just making this worse for himself. But he felt flustered, and he had no idea why. Usually, Tommy was able to keep himself in check, but Victoria was his greatest friend, and he had known her for years, so she often saw hi at his most emotional. Such as right now.

Giggling at how his cheeks started to flame slightly, Vicky was unquestionably amused. Tommy Hayes, the boy who she thought couldn't be more embarrassed by his father, was sitting with her here, hiding his face like a girl. Well, wasn't she the greatest person to make someone embarrassed? It surely ran in their family traits, to make someone suddenly so uncomfortable. That kind of thing was not positive but for now, Vicky found out that having this kind of reaction from the blonde boy made her day. He was all too reactive which made her assume things randomly. Like he secretly liked this girl. Even if he didn't, Tommy was sure to be the victim of Victoria's endless teasing. Shutting the brunette up was useless. Victoria talked when she wanted to and sometimes, her mouth had simply contained no filter. Vicky rolled her eyes when Tommy pleaded not to discuss about girls. Well, looking at girls certainly was not a crime. It was only normal for a boy to see girls - it just depended on him whether it was just a look or more than that.

"But she's really cute," Victoria commented, shrugging. The girl Tommy had been looking at really had nice hair. It was soft and neat looking, but Vicky thought it was too simple. She did not mention that though. Victoria grinned at Tommy, putting him in the limelight. The girl he just looked at was not too far away. In fact she was just at the other side of the Courtyard. Victoria's keen eyesight could see so and judging by her poise, she could tell that this girl most probably had style. "So want me to play matchmaker right now?" She laughed softly, making sure that it wouldn't catch too much attention. If her older brother heard this, he'd probably lose it. But Victoria's interest in guys was only known by her close friends and unfortunately, Tommy was one of them. Puppy love wasn't a new feeling to the Gryffindor but perhaps to her Slytherin friend, it was something unusual. She decided to exaggerate a little more. "Yep, I totally hear wedding bells. Can you?" She faked an expression as if hearing the rings. When she dropped it, she smirked at the blonde boy close to her.

Victoria sat back and observed him. He really was uncomfortable at the topic and to her, the only thing to overcome it was to become used to discussing it. Besides, she was only doing some harmless teasing. He was not new to that, especially if it came from her. In the Chase household, surviving endless mocks from the eldest child of the family was certainly a must. If not... well, there was no escape to that. She chuckled at him lightly before remarking, "You're becoming pink." Blunt and straight to the point. Well, he really was affected by this whole thing, wasn't he?

if you want anything changed, just tell me :p

The thought of Victoria being anyone's matchmaker actually managed to instill fear into his heart. He couldn't imagine her instructing him on who to love - she would be ridiculously embarrassing, and she would relish the thought of ruining his comfort zone by throwing anyone at him. An, and the girl wasn't cute. She was just a girl, the planet was full of them and Tommy was not interested in having anything to do with them at this time. "No way." He shook his head, with his hands holding his cheeks. "Don't even think about being match maker - she's not cute." He glanced at the girl, realising that he may have been a little loud, and managed to insult her. That was an accident, but an honest one. It wasn;t his fault she had a bad haircut, odd nose and freakishly good hearing.

Tomas stubbornly pulled his Slytherin hood over his face in an attempt to cover it, reminding himself of a dementor. Perhaps she would grow bored and stop this line of conversation? It wasn't very Victoria, and he highly doubted she would ever do such a thing without poking fun or going down with a fight, but he lived in hope. He refused to go any shade of pink,as it would be blatantly obvious with his pale complexion and emerald robes. It would be far too noticeable. At the mention of wedding bells, Tommy once again cupped his face in horror. "Most definitely not!" He wasn't going to marry anyone, least of all that girl. His tween-age mind could not comprehend the thought of actually marrying a girl and having to care for her for the rest of his life. It sounded like a recipe for disaster. Obviously he understood to the fact that he would probably one day marry - lots of people did it - and he would be no different. But he certainly wasn't hearing any bells except those of the clock tower above them.

Coming to the realisation that he was possibly as red as her Gryffindor robes, Tommy sighed and sat back a little, his blue eyes holding her gaze in an attampt to at least fake some confidence. It was only because it was Victoria. Ifitwere anyone else, the chances of him remaining would have been none. However, he liked Victoria - she was a good friend tahat he had known for a long time, since they were young children. The least he could do was attept to take a joke and have a warm and fuzzy moment. He wasn't sure how one had such a thing, but it probably started with a bit of laughter. So,he pushed out a laugh that may have sounded like he was choking, so he stopped short, but continued to smile slightly. "It's because it's hot," he said, trying to explain away his flushed cheeks. "The sun." It was plausible, at least. He was quite a pale individual.
