I Just Wanna Talk

Oliver was glad she hadn't been disappointed with what little fact he'd revealed to her about his love of Mac'n'cheese. He smiled when she revealed a treat -- other than the sweets she carried with her -- she enjoyed herself. "Nice! I've never had my cocoa with cinnamon in it." The Hufflepuff commented, planning on trying that out as soon as it got colder.

This talk of food was making the boy hungry, though, and with the next fact he shared he decided to switch topics. "I don't do it anymore, but when I was younger, my favorite thing to do was spin until I got really dizzy. It made the world feel like it was moving, and I'd pretend I was in an earthquake and would see how long I could keep on my feet." Oliver said with a laugh at the memory.

Sapph snickered as Oliver told her about his memory. She thought back to her favorite memory. "If you don't count meeting you or Alkander, I'd have to say my favorite memory would be when I found out I had magic. This kid Blaine was picking on a little girl named Lily, and he had made her cry. I told him to leave her alone, naturally, but he responded by saying he could do whatever he wanted because no one would ever bother with a dirty little urchin like her. Or, at least, he tried." Sapph's eyes twinkled as she talked. "I knew exactly what he was going to say, so I punched him right in the nose. I was so mad, and after I hit him his hair shot straight out of his head and it all turned this bright, fiery red. Funniest thing I'd ever seen,"

She stretched, smiling wide. "He avoided me for a week after that, it was brilliant."

"That is really brilliant!" Oliver remarked after listening to her story, truly impressed by her bravery. He'd also noticed how she'd hinted that meeting him was one of her favorite memories, and it made the boy's face brighten, a warm grin on his face. Meeting her was definitely one of his favorites.

"Well, my discovery of my magic wasn't as heroic as your's." He admitted, almost too embarrassed to tell her. "I was in a store with my dad, and I went wandering off away from him to look at something." Oliver sighed and rolled his eyes before continuing. "Anyway, I got super panicked because I couldn't find him anywhere, and I caused a whole aisle of kitchenware to crash." He finished, his face slightly red. "Some poor old lady ended up with a microwave falling onto her head." The second year admitted.

Sapph laughed at his story, wincing at that last part. "Poor lady," she teased, and was about to go on saying something else when something in the sky caught her attention. "Hey! Shooting star!" She pointed up at it, then quickly closed her eyes and made a wish. Her nose squinched up a bit as she did.

Oliver's cheeks flushed as Sapphire laughed, but he eventually joined in along with her. Looking back, it was rather humorous. The Hufflepuff inhaled in awe as he glanced to where the Slytherin pointed. He'd never seen one before in person, and it made him smile as he noticed Sapphire making a wish out the corner of his eye, her nose squinched up slightly. Oliver didn't need to make one. His wish had been granted when he'd met the Slytherin beside him, and so he simply kept gazing in wonder at the star until it had passed, allowing all of its wish granting power to go to her. "So. What did you wish for?" He asked curiously, before stretching his legs and yawning.

Sapph had wished that she had really made friends this year, and that she wouldn't wake up back at the home to find that it had just been a really good dream.

Of course, she wouldn't tell Oliver that. "I wished to pass the tests coming up," she lied smoothly, yawning because he did. "And maybe we should head to bed. What do you think?" She was starting to get a little sleepy, but nothing she couldn't handle.

"That's good you take your studies seriously." Oliver replied with a grin. It sounded smooth coming from her lips, but the Hufflepuff hadn't taken her for the type to stress about things like that, much less to wish on a shooting star about it. It made him wonder what her wish really was. Oliver could be wrong, but he didn't think Sapphire had wished for passing test scores -- she was already too clever.

"Probably not a bad idea." The boy said with a lazy nod. No telling how many hours it was after curfew now, and the idea of slipping under the sheets and catching some sleep sounded enticing. "I had a great time. See you tomorrow?" Oliver said, smiling warmly as he leapt down on top of the chest.

The boy extended a hand out to see Sapphire safely down. "I promise I won't push you off the edge." He teased, alluding to what she'd said earlier.

Sapph smiled. Tomorrow huh? She considered Oliver's extended hand a moment, before tossing her blanket over his head. She didn't have a chance to show off very often, but she saw an opportunity now and she meant to take it.

She pulled a pair of fingerless biker gloves out of her pocket and slipped them on- they protected her palms.

She placed her hands on the edge of the roof, and flipped herself up to balance in a handstand several moments longer than necessary. There wasn't enough space to do anything special (not that she was skilled enough to do much more than that anyway) so she just let herself fall forward, flipping and landing gracefully on her feet.

She smiled up at Oliver, taking her blanket back from him. "See you tomorrow, Olivander." She sashayed away and back towards her dorm.
