"Who knew my own flesh and blood would ignore my letter and - and -" Izzy sighed in frustration, not bothering to finish her sentence. She scoffed and scrunched up the letter her father sent to her. Or, to be more precise, the letter she spent so much time writing and getting it right, sent back to her. Her dad didn't even read the contents! She was so furious right now. She closed her eyes to calm down a bit, steadying her breathing, but to no avail. There was no way she could move on from it this time. Her dad hurt her, again. It was unforgivable. She knew he was adjusting to having a new wife and spending basically all of his time with her to make her feel welcome, but Isabelle just couldn't take it anymore. He even went so far as to send the envelope back. Did the Ravenclaw do something wrong? Did she say something in her letter she wasn't supposed to? Then again, how was she supposed to know if she did do anything wrong, considering her father probably never opened the envelope? It was truly horrifying and shocking to the poor girl.
She sighed yet again for the umpteenth time. She didn't think she'd ever get used to having a stepmother, especially if she was manipulating her dad - making him do this. It wasn't like Izzy hated that woman, of course she wasn't able to because she didn't know her yet, but she was disgusted by the idea of having to call her 'mum'. Specifically because she wasn't going to. Izzy sunk further back in her seat, suddenly feeling ashamed. She was so not meant to feel this way, not during exam time in any case. She looked at her notes scattered all over the table in front of her. She had been trying to study all morning, but she was too distracted. And she would've been done with revising by now had her father just kept the letter she sent to him. She really needed a friend right now. Too bad she didn't have any, the thought just made her feel even worse. So she sat and just stared at the rolls of parchment in front of her, debating on whether she should just leave the library and study later.
