Adrian Rowan was completely lost right now. He was standing right in the middle of the North, and though it was chilly here compared to Florida and New Zealand. Then again he was used to the temperature over in Russia. After some time to himself, and some thought, Adrian had applied himself to be an Auror, because it was one of those well-respected jobs, and he was in training for a while. Sure, he could live with that, and the training lasts a while. A pretty long while but he could deal with it. In about six months or so, he would be a complete Auror, without having a trainer whom was always on his arse. Ever since he had enrolled in the program, he hardly had any time to himself. And he was lucky to have today off. And he took the time today to find out where Samantha was. Thank god his sister was a blabber-mouth and could not keep anything a secret. It was because of her that he was here in Salem right now. Adrian was a pureblooded wizard, and he was looking for a certain muggle that he had crushed on for quite some time now. No one had really stirred Adrian that way since Terrie, and she ended up breaking his young, seventeen-year-old heart. He never wanted a relationship like that again, but yet he was seeking out Samantha Daisy because he was honestly crazy over her. And what made her possess to think that Adrian was some man-wh*re was beyond him. He liked to party and have a great time, but that was it. No one in Florida really remembered the Tyler Lanchester that he had been. There was another there that had stolen the spotlight. Adrian had seen it for himself. It was almost a relief.

His new life was just upside down compared to the one that he was living months ago. He wanted to have his family look at him other than a failure, which he hoped that he wasn't now that he was accepted as an Auror. Not everyone can be one. Adrian cradled the map in his tanned hands, and he walked the sidewalk, ignoring how people were staring. No one had seen this type of man. He was what other's would call 'man-pretty' and he was very stylish. Why he did not have women flocking after him was unheard of. He had looked over to see others looking at him, even the girls, and yet, he was not phased. His trainer was really working on him. The man, that French man, really nailed it in him that women were not everything, and safety was. Well, he believed that, and now, Adrian was not looking for any sort of relationship to fill what was left of his heart, and no one seemed to even come close. Having fun and drinking was out of the question. Well, not while he was in training. Looking down at the map, he thought that he had found the place. The key that he knew that he had found the place, was the mailbox had the last name 'Daisy' on it. Smiling, he strolled right up to the front door, and could feel his insides turning into knots. She might not want to see him, but at least he had found her. Took him forever and all, and now that he had, he could not just walk away now. His hand curled into a fist, and allowed his knuckles to softly knock against the door, as he silently waited for the muggle girl that had captured his interest answer it.

Samantha Daisy was currently trying to get her son down for a nap. Jesse usually took a nap around this time but today he was being really fussy. He didn't need to be changed, he refused to be fed, and he wasn't in the mood to be put into his bouncer either. When he did he just sat there and cried until Samantha came back into the room. He was nine months which meant that he was at the age where he threw a fit whenever Samantha left him alone for even a moment or two. He wasn't fond of strangers either but it never took him long to adjust to the person. Once he did adjust he was a very playful and cuddly baby. In a way he kind of reminded Samantha of his father. Very outgoing and smooth with the ladies. Seriously all her friends adored Jesse and when they came over to visit he got plenty of attention from them. He looked a lot like his father too. Really silky soft blonde hair that Samantha found much too cute to be cut anytime soon. He had her summer green eyes but everything else seemed to resemble Adrian. Who didn't even know he was a father. Samantha had returned to Salem not to long after her and Adrian slept together, and when she found out she was pregnant she didn't know his number or anything really and she also didn't think it would matter to him much if he had a kid. He was like a giant kid himself and to him the child would probably be a nuisance to him. So Samantha just didn't bother. Besides, he looked like one of those guys that couldn't really care for a baby. So it was just better if she didn't bother to try and tell him. He had gotten what he wanted and that was her for a night and let's face it, most men that looked like him didn't have any interest in kids. It sounded dumb but after Samantha had seen her friends get screwed over as well as her own issues with boys she knew better than to bother. Besides, if he really cared about her then he would have contacted her by now. So he must not have cared about her all that much. So Samantha moved on, graduated from College, and bought herself a nice house with the help of her dad that wanted to see the very best for his daughter and grandson. Samantha hadn't been bothered at all by Adrian which she assumed was code for him moving on and assumed it was just for the best. It wasn't her problem anymore. Samantha had better things to worry about, like her son.

Samantha was about to put Jesse in his crib in hopes that he would actually nap if he was in there. But she heard a knock on the door instead with made Jesse stir ever so lightly in her arms. She could see that he was fighting sleep. "Who in the world?" Samantha asked herself as she continued to hold Jesse and walked out of his nursery and into the living room where the front door was. Why would anyone be visiting her right now. She hadn't gotten a text from any of her friends telling her that they were coming over. Her parents were in Virginia for some convention her father wanted to go to. So she wasn't really expecting anyone to come and visit her. With a swift turn, Samantha opened the door and her heart instantly sunk. "Adrian? What are you doing here?" Samantha asked, shock evident in her face. Oddly enough she was holding his son right now, who was staring up at practically an older version of himself with interest. Jesse was probably wondering who this strange man was and why he had come over to visit him and his mother. Samantha found it overwhelming that he looked so much like Adrian and here was Adrian himself. Samantha sighed and looked outside to see if anyone had shown up with him.

Adrian wanted to welcome Samantha to the magical world, but then again, she was a muggle so she might not take up with the idea that much. However she did have a right to know because her baby was doomed to have magical blood. Adrian was a pure-blood, so there was no way possible that the baby would be magic-less. Adrian started to wonder what Samantha had done for the past like, year and so many months. He hoped that it was something good for her, because she seemed like a smart girl, that would be off doing better things. Adrian was waiting for her to answer the door, and he realized that he did not mix up that potion to change his eye color at all. So she would see him in those mint green eyes. Maybe she would like the green eyes. He remembered her saying something about them a little while back but it was not anything major. He barely remembered, but he thought that she liked the green. Somehow he got her to believe that it was a trick of lighting. Muggles were so silly, but she was really suspicious of him. At least he knew how the muggle world worked or else he would be screwed here. Police lights and everything would have scared off Adrian, but not anymore. He had lived in the muggle world before, and now he was back in the wizarding world. However some ties he just could not break. He could not leave Samantha alone, and he did not know how to work a cellphone, let alone have her number so that he could contact her. He knew how regular phones worked, just not texting.

The young Auror wondered if Samantha was expecting anyone, or if she had family coming over or anything like that. He did not want to interrupt her during something as important as that. Adrian would gladly come back later, but then again he would not mind meeting her folks. Muggle parents, that would be interesting! He wondered how they acted. They could be immature, or mature. He did not know how muggle parents were, but should not be too much different from wizarding parents. However, what he was expecting when the door opened was not what he had in mind. Samantha was holding a baby. Not a newborn one either. Adrian's lips parted but no sound came out. His eyes went straight to the child, and he looked at Samantha, and back to the baby. He was definitely not blind, nor did he need someone to tell him that the baby looked similar to him as in the pictures of him as a baby back at home. The only difference was the baby's eyes were Samantha's. Adrian loved her eyes, but he never told her that, but they looked good on his miniature self. Adrian looked back at Samantha and he reached around and scratched his head, completely befuddled and then nervous because of the Salem people. Adrian stammered, "W-Well, I finally got Ariah to tell me where you were, because I was lost in Boston for ages." Adrian shrugged lightly, and he was at a loss of words. Not just because he thought that he just might be this kid's father, but the Salem trial people could think that he looked like a wizard. Adrian looked at Samantha, to the baby boy, to Samantha, back to the boy, before he asked, "Um, can we talk, maybe inside?" Adrian's face revealed no more than shock and nervous.

Two pairs of Summer green eyes stared at Adrian, one was filled with shock and rage while the other pair just remained curious and innocent. It showed clearly the different opinions between the child and the mother when it came to how they both felt about their guest. Samantha wasn't pleased to see him because she was just thinking about how he was a such deadbeat dad and then he shows up at the door like some sort of hero in shining armor. That was so convenient and Samantha didn't know if she would ever start to think any different about him or his actions either. Jesse on the other hand had no idea who this man was but he liked it whenever people came over to entertain him for awhile. Right now Jesse was probably picturing Adrian to be a giant chew toy for him to gnaw on and crawl all over. Poor Adrian had no idea either and that was the most amusing part about it. To Samantha at least because it meant that she wouldn't be the victim for once. "Mhm." Samantha replied when Adrian tried to tell her that he finally got Ariah to tell him where she lived and that he had been lost in Boston for ages. Even if he really had been lost she was pretty sure she had never told him anything about Boston so it was his own fault that he ended up there. Boys often had a lot of excuses for doing the things that they did so Samantha would just humor Adrian and hope that whatever he wanted was not going to involve him bothering her too much. Her heart couldn't take too much of this and not when she had to worry about her health for her son too because he was the priority in her life right now. Adrian asked if the two of them could talk inside and Samantha froze. He wanted to talk to her? What in the world could make him want to come all this way to speak to her. Or was it just because he noticed Jesse and made the connection. Well this was going to be awkward. She didn't really feel like talking to him, or letting him into her house, ever. But did she really have the right to deny a father the chance to see his child. Probably not which meant no matter how much she wanted to punch him instead of letting him inside. Jesse gurgled a set of unintelligible words and Samantha stared down at him as he let his chubby baby fingers snatch onto a piece of her hair. "Fine! Come in." Samantha held the door open and urged Adrian inside before she peeked outside to see if anyone else had come with him. When it was confirmed that she was alone Samantha closed the door behind Adrian and urged him to follow her into the living room for a moment. The living room had two stairs leading down to it because it was a little lower than the kitchen. She thought it looked nicer that way. Pointing to the couch she sighed.

"I will be right back." Before she disappeared with the baby. Not even minute's later she returned with a blanket and a few toys along with Jesse. Carefully she laid the blanket out and set the toys down before she placed her son, like he was almost glass, onto the floor and headed over to sit on one of the love seats. "Just so you know, he crawls so your legs may become a victim of torture." Samantha decided to leave put that he bites. Adrian could figure that out all on his own. But it would appear that right now Jesse was preoccupied with a stuffed shark that Samantha had laid down for him. With the way he was waving it around and such, she expected the stuffing to fall out of it soon. Her son was viscous and relentless when it came to playing with his toys. As the baby occupied himself Samantha stared ta Adrian for the longest time. As if she were tying to read him or something. Why was he here and how did his sister know where she lived? Colton probably said something and how here she was with someone she didn't really want to see again in her house? "What are you here?" Samantha asked him as she pulled the sweater she had on more closely to her thin body. Jesse squealed happily on the floor and for a moment she wondered if Adrian had come to actually see his kid. There wasn't much of a chance for that though. He probably just came here to talk about something dumb and idiotic.

The pride that every man, muggle and wizard alike, did not know when to ask for directions, and Adrian himself was no different. Because he did not ask for directions, he had not found Salem, but it was not that far away at all, which was surprising. Adrian had to look far and wide for Samantha, while also trying to do his regular day to day activities. He had to do his training as an Auror, and everything of the sort. He thought that he might not have enough time in the day, but alas here he was, but he was still horrified that Samantha was a mother, to what it looked like, another one of him. It was pretty scary looking down at the baby, but he tried to keep his focus on Samantha, who looked pretty good as a mother, almost natural. Adrian wondered how a pregnant woman, well, after giving birth, how did they lose the weight that they gained? Was it hard? Though those questions Adrian would probably be best suited not to ask without getting a slap to the face. He did not want to get that happening to him. Though it had happened other times before, but he just did not want it to happen to him, again. Getting slapped really hurt so that was why he was avoiding some of the more awkward questions. But he was still worried over the fact that this baby could have been his, if he looked so much like him. Adrian originally wanted to talk to her to see how she had been, but she had been just so hard to reach, as if something were keeping him from finding her. It was not that he did not want to, but he just did not know how. Adrian was simply worried, he was not mature enough to earn the right to be a father, but he was not for sure if he was one or not. The evidence was right there, the timing was impeccable, and he had no idea if he would be able to handle it though. Adrian hoped that he would. Being an Auror was slowly helping him adjust to the more mature ways of being an adult. However, how long would it take before he got to know the real dangers of the world? The real possibility that his life could be at risk just by doing his job?

When the baby took hold of Samantha's hair, she agreed to let him come in. Adrian slowly stepped into the home, and he wondered if any of those Salem folk, witch hunters, were still alive. Adrian looked around her home and wondered if she lived alone with the baby or if she was married and such. Well, if her last name was still Daisy, then he thought that she might not be married, but she might be seeing someone seriously, someone willing to be a step-father. Adrian hesitantly followed her into the living room. He was glad that he did not trip down the smallest flight of stairs that he had ever encountered and look like a fool. She pointed to the couch and he nodded lightly. He went and took a seat before she disappeared with her son, going who knows where with him. Once he had seated comfortably, Samantha had returned with a blanket and some toys, and then set him down. Her working like a mother was amazing, but he felt guilty that if this was indeed his son, then he had cursed her this. However there was always adoption too, is there was a need. He was warned and he nodded softly. He would not mind that, he did not really mind children. When Ariah was young, he used to play with her, but when she got older, then he picked on her like any other older brother. Samantha was staring at him and he looked over at her with lightly dusted rose cheeks. Sure, he was just nervous, why was she staring at him like that? Did he look funny or something? Adrian moved his hair from his mint green eyes and he bit his lip when she asked him what he was doing here. Adrian shrugged and he murmured, answering as honestly as possible, "Well, I wanted to catch up with you, and stuff like that. But um, I think something changed." He motioned with his hand toward the infant on the floor before he would boldly ask, "Am I...uh, um... Okay, who is his father because he looks an awful lot like me. And um, what is his name?" Adrian had so many questions for her, like what all had she been doing while they were apart, but then again, his sole focus was on the child in the floor amusing himself with so many toys and whatnot.

Samantha was glad that Adrian wasn't as stupid as she thought he was going to be when it came to recognizing the similarity between and the baby playing around on the floor. But apparently he wanted to catch up with her before he realized that there was now a child in the picture. When he asked who the father of the baby was Samantha resisted the urge to not only smirk but roll her eyes as well. It was obvious that the child looked exactly like him so he must have connected the dots. Would he actually do anything for the kid once Samantha revealed the truth though? Or will it just be another incident where he left and Samantha didn't hear from him until months later. If that was the way he planned to do things, oh well. Samantha had raised her son for the past nine months by herself and she had done just fine then. What would be another eighteen years or so on top of that? Jesse started to babble loudly as he crawled about on the floor and tossed his toys in every which way. Adrian must have been had a million things running through his mind right now. Samantha decided that she wanted to be nice and end his suffering for the time being. "He's your son." If the looks wasn't enough to cue someone in on who the father was, the way the baby acted should have been an obvious giveaway. It seemed that he wasn't quite as interested in other people as Adrian was though. Jesse liked to cause havoc within the house whenever he could though. Screaming, throwing things, and since he was starting to walk Samantha always worried that he would get into something. Thankfully he wasn't the best of walkers yet and needed the assistance of the furniture to get around. Adrian asked what his name was and Samantha pulled her summer green eyes away from the babbling baby for a moment. Well he sounded like he cared about the baby. It could have all been an act to get to her though. She did not trust Adrian with this matter as much as she knew she should have. But this was her baby boy's life and she wanted him to have everything he needed. Drama between his mother and father was not what he needed. "His name is Jesse. He's nine months old and he already has a habit of getting into trouble." Samantha commented as she watched her son try to get up and crawl into the kitchen. She wasn't going to have any of that so as soon as he tried to pass by the chair she lifted him into her arms and sat him down on her lap. Jesse didn't seem too enthused about being stopped from his adventure and puckered his lips out before he shot his baby green eyes at his mother. As if saying; 'how could you?' Samantha laughed at the expression and leaned to kiss his head softly.

"You can stay for dinner if you'd like. He really needs to get fed and stuff so I can try and get him to sleep tonight." Samantha offered. She had some food cooking in a pot but she was currently more worried about getting Jesse fed. He refused lunch today and he had to eat. Especially because she intended to get some actual sleep tonight. Jesse had a tendency to keep her up and on the days she had work it made it one hell of a night. Plus the next day he was always cranky for the sitter and stuff. It was hard getting to him to sleep because he liked to explore around too much. Was Adrian like that as a baby and stuff. Samantha stood up and motioned for Adrian to follow her into the kitchen. Jesse was set into his high chair and immediately it looked as if he were trying to plan his escape too. His tiny hands tried to pull the tray off but luckily it was stuck on because Samantha honestly didn't think she had the energy to pick it up every single time he threw it down there. She already had a hard time keeping everything else on there. Setting a bottle down she also got the baby food ready. He was having peas tonight. Whether he liked it or not. The whole time Samantha bustled around the kitchen Jesse kept his eyes fixed on Adrian. As if Adrian were the most interesting person in the world. Then he started to babble and Samantha laughed softly. It was obvious that the baby was talking to Adrian. If only Samantha could understand him though. Quickly she took a spoon and dipped it into some of the baby food and fed Jesse a small bite. The face he made once it went in was an obvious sign that he did not appreciated peas tonight. "So, is catching up with me why you really came here? Or did Colton tell you about him?" Samantha motioned with her head toward Jesse. Samantha ask Adrian this because she wasn't sure how much he really cared about her by this point. It didn't matter to her though. For a awhile she remembered that she was interested in Colton but he was obviously head over heels for his girlfriend. Samantha would move on one day and find a nice guy. Preferably when it didn't take so much time out of her schedule to raise her son.

Adrian wondered, well, once the news was dropped, what would he do for his kid? The least he could do was be there for his son. After all, even he did not carry the last name, Adrian could at least be a father like his father was to him. Kind, caring and fun to be around while serious at the same time. Because Adrian was an Auror now, the seriousness was really kicking in. Now, it was confirmed that it was his son, and Adrian's mouth went dry. How could no one tell him about his son? Of all people, why not someone like him? Was there a higher fate trying to make him the idiot of the family or something? Because Adrian wasn't, he just tried too hard to please everyone in bad ways. The way the baby was even acting, it was so similar, it was scary. Adrian was surprised that Samantha did not put up the baby for adoption because it would have reminded her of him and she might as well hate him. Adrian would not have blamed her either, which he would have months ago. Adrian looked down at his son, and he ran his fingers through his hair. Being as young as he was, just starting out into a new life, and a bombshell like this was dropped on him. He did not regret coming here, but he was regretting getting lost in Boston while trying to find Salem. Even wizarding men had bad directions. Adrian settled both of his hands onto his lap, and he was still stunned, he was a father. Like Colton was, he was a father. Adrian let out a sigh and he buried his face into his hands. Why could he not have been there? He was a failure at this already. Almost like he was to everything else in his life. Couldn't hold down a fort of his own until recently, his own family found him to be a failure too - at least this is what he thought anyway. And now, he was failing to be a dad for a child he did not even know existed. Whomever knew, did they just think that the son would be better off without the father? Adrian did not think that he could have lived without his own father being there for him. It was not like Adrian could do anything about it either, not without a time turner. The baby's name was Jesse, and Adrian looked up at Samantha from his hands, placing them once more in his own lap. His own son was about nine-months old, and he already got into trouble. Oh that was his boy all right. Getting into mischief as if it were his middle name. "Jesse, that is a pretty nice name," said Adrian with a sincere tone. It did not really sound like a common name either so of course he liked it. When Samantha picked Jesse up from going into the kitchen, it snapped into the Auror's mind. Jesse was guaranteed to be magical. He doubted that Samantha would have been introduced to the magical world, and he knew, that he would have to do it. Oh he sucked at doing stuff like this.

"That would be very nice, actually," Adrian accepted her offer with a slight smile. He hoped that she did not have too much of a hard time with Jesse, but he also wondered if the child had caused anything 'weird' to happen in the house, something that could not be explained. That would be easier than just saying the words out loud. Could alert those that were determined to get rid of his kind out of the muggle world. Those that were afraid of witches still. He was just glad that Samantha actually offered to let him stay for dinner. He had lost his appetite after finding out that he was a dad, but could anyone truly blame him for that? It was not something that one would expect to ever happen. When Samantha motioned for Adrian to follow her, like an obedient dog, Adrian stood up and he followed her into the kitchen. Jesse seemed to be plotting his way out of the highchair, but he could tell that Jesse was not going to make it with getting out of there. It was impossible. That is without magic. He hoped that the baby would not make the tray fly out of the way. That would be hard to explain. So Adrian stood a bit away from Jesse, enough to not be able to reach him. However Jesse seemed to have taken an interest for him and then even babbled at him. He did not even know what the baby was trying to say but at least the baby seemed to like him though. Shifting his posture, even Adrian made a face when he saw what the baby food was. Peas. However when Samantha asked him if catching up was all he was wanting to do, or if Colton told Adrian about Jesse. Wait a minute, hold up, Colton of all people knew about Jesse and did not tell Adrian? Adrian's face showed nothing more than sheer annoyance. His tone was even reflecting on that, but alas he mumbled, "I really just wanted to catch up, but my own brother did not tell me I had a son. How heartless..." All this time he could have been here, and Colton deprived him of that. Of course around that time he did not know Colton was going through hardships of his own. Adrian ran his fingers through his hair again, and he honestly did not know what to do in this situation. He was completely lost. He wished his dad was still around to give him advice on what to do.

Samantha picked up on the fact that Adrian was annoyed by even the smallest mention of Colton. After some discussions she figured out that the two brothers hated one another with a passion. They didn't get along at alll and the fact that Colton might have been with his son before Adrian was able to be with him himself, probably drove Adrian nuts. But it was the truth. Samantha wasn't going to lie to him about that. A part of her felt that he deserved to have this told to him anyways, maybe it would help him grow up a little and realize that if he was going to mess around in life like he has been doing, then he was going to start losing the chances to do things right in his life. Like meet and bond with his son, that chance was now long gone. Or was it there? There was still a chance that he could get to know Jesse and have the baby start to recognize him as his father, or he could keep not caring like he has been doing. Samantha rolled her summer green eyes as she approached the baby with a bowl of baby food and his bottle. Her thin arms pulled up a stool and she looked at Adrian with seriousness. "He didn't tell you because I told him not to tell you. It's not his fault you didn't know, in fact I remember him telling me that I should tell you about Jesse. He said I would need all the help I could get.....whatever that means." Samantha replied and dipped the silvery baby spoon into the food and brought a small amount close to her son's face. He took a small bite and made a face. Samantha wanted to giggle but instead she just fed him another spoonful. This time he ate the food without making a face over it. Sometimes strange things happened involving Jesse. Like he managed to get out of his crib, when one it was too high for him to roll and two, he could barely walk let alone climb. How did he manage to get out. Sometimes objects appeared in the room too that were originally locked up or not anywhere close to where he could grab it. In the end they were just written off as weird coincidences to Samantha. It was weird to think about something maybe being wrong with her baby, but she decided that it couldn't have been anything too bad. But that was just positive thinking from a mother's point of view. To her, Jesse could do no wrong. Another spoonful was fed and she sighed. She felt bad. There had been months of planning on what she would say to Adrian if she ever saw him again. About his carelessness, how he didn't deserve to ever see his son, how much of an idiot he was. But now that he was here she was unable to say anything to him. In fact she started to wonder if it was her own fault that he hadn't been around to see his child grow up. Jesse turned his head to the side and whined and Samantha lowered the spoon and sighed. Why was he not eating like he normally did. Samantha tried again. "I figured that you wouldn't care. That you wouldn't want to give up your life on the beach to do this." Samantha gestued to herself, meaning the whole being a parent thing. Adrian might have hated it. Why did he have to arrive he nearly looking like a professional and make her think that he was anything but immature and selfish? She should smack him. Just reach across and give him hell for being who he was. Jesse still refused to eat and Samantha sighed again. She set the spoon and food aside and stared at him. He stared back at her before he smiled charmingly and then turned his eyes back to the strange man in his kitchen. For Adrian it would probably be like looking into a mirror of time. At himself years younger.

"I made a fool of myself too. I...fell for your brother. I figured that because he seemed to eager to help me out with Jesse and everything that he might, have felt something but I was being stupid. I had forgotten about Gabrielle, how he loved her and stuff. I just....this situation really sucks." Samantha rolled her eyes and lifted Jesse from the seat. She grabbed a cloth and motioned for Adrian to follow her again. This time she sat on the couch and dimmed the lights a little. The fire within the fireplace lit up the room perfectly but she was getting Jesse ready to try and fall asleep. He was probably exhausted. Samantha also grabbed a blanket and settled herself on one end, she would allow Adrian to sit on the other if he wanted. Once settled she handed the bottle to and let Jesse drink from it as he laid cuddled in her lap. His eyes were half-lidded so she could tell that he was already tired. He would be asleep really soon. The sound of the crackling fire and noises from the bottle were not enough to calm Samantha now that she was in the room with Adrian. It was uncomfortable. Especially now that she has told him that she didn't want him to know about Jesse and that she had fallen for his brother at one point and had her heart broken right after. But Samantha didn't blame Colton. He was a Doctor, it was his job to take care of her and she had mistaken it for him caring. Plus he already had the love of his life. Samantha would find hers elsewhere. There was plenty of fish in the sea out there. Perhaps she would find one of those medical students that attend Harvard to marry her. Surely they would love to live in such a nice home with her and her adorable son. Even if he was the child of another man. Surely one could make an exception. "I need to stop being so selfish. How have you been?" Samantha decided to cut the quiet air and see if she could get him distracted from what she had told him. She expected to hear that he had still been partying, hitting the waves, and scoring beautiful women all up and down the coast. But if she had known how much of his life changed then she might have thought differently. But she didn't. Samantha had actually become something close to a hermit after she had Jesse. Raising him, working a few days a week, and keeping up with a house and such was very hard work.

Adrian wished that he could get over his dislike of Colton and how that Healer seemed to get love from anyone he wanted, and here Adrian could not get any. Not anything true. He did not know how a cold boy like that could get anything, and Adrian was sure that one day, Colton would have ended up dying alone or something. But no, something changed. And now even Adrian was changing. He was growing up, at last. He was thinking that maybe he did not want to really mess around in life. He looked down at his son, and Adrian just felt so exhausted, and annoyed. How could one not mention to him that he had a son? It was rather important. This could have been prevented. He could have been there, and now, he had missed so much of his son's life, he did not want to miss anymore of it. Amazingly, a bond was already forming, and he had yet to old Jesse. Adrian looked over toward Samantha, and his eyes widened slightly when she said that she was the one that told Colton not to tell him, that Colton said that Adrian should have known about Jesse, and that in all was not fair to him. Adrian leaned up against the counter, turned his back on Samantha and just buried his face into his hands. How could one not bother to tell the him that he was going to have a kid? Adrian would have been able to do something about it, and he felt so guilty, like he should have known, but there was no way he could have known. It was all the growing up that he had to face as being an Auror, and all of it was just bearing down on him like an ugly troll. Adrian shook his head and he continued to just think about this situation. With him being an Auror now, he could not raise his son like he wanted to, not with Samantha living here in the United States and he living in New Zealand. This was getting to be just too difficult for him, and he was just hating the fact that he was just so much of a screw up, that there were some things that just could not be fixed. Adrian shook his head and he muttered, "I care, still do. My life on the beach has long since been over, but people just assume rather than taking the time to see, what I actually do care about and what I don't. I would have loved being a father, but I've already missed out on so much of Jesse's, and there is nothing I can do about it. The helplessness is killing me." His voice was close to just fading out, but it was enough for him to hear and hopefully her. He thought that he deserved to see his son, but the fates had managed to keep him from finding Samantha after so long that he just stayed in Russia for a while. Adrian felt horrible, like he was the scum from the bottom of a shoe. And once Jesse came into his magical abilities, Samantha would not know what to do at all. He was needed, but he did not feel like he was wanted. He felt like she just wanted him to just go crawl into a hole and die. Would Jesse be better off without Adrian? The old one, yes, but not the one that was standing in the kitchen right now. This one was officially his age.

The Auror raised back up to his proper stance before he folded his arms across his chest and instantly thought that asking to hold Jesse would just be rejected. Especially right now when he was refusing to eat. If he was not mistaken, Adrian was the same way. He hated vegetables growing up, and even hated them now. Well, he liked some, but others still made him gag all the same. It was insane trying to get him to eat vegetables when he was younger. And now Jesse was acting the same way. Adrian wondered if Samantha would like him in her and Jesse's life, the very least a friend. He wanted to be there for everything else in Jesse's life. He would not remember him missing out, but he wanted to make it up for his son too. So that as far as he remembers, Adrian was always there. When Samantha told him that she had fallen for Colton too, Adrian nearly shuddered at the thought. He could not believe that this was happening to him. The girl that he liked fell for his brother that he always felt inferior to. This was the cherry on top of a perfect bad day. Finding out that this girl did not want him to know he was a father, Adrian looked over at her, and he let out a sigh. Truth be told, he was just too defeated to even say anything about her loving Colton. Once again he was asked to follow her, and Adrian did, where they went into the living room. She settled with a blanket on one end, and Adrian on the other. He was not about to separate too much from the girl. He noticed that she was feeding Jesse by the bottle, and the crackling from the fireplace was making him sleepy. It was adorable. Adrian could not believe that he had helped produce such a magical baby no less. The Auror was sitting in silence, because he did not know what he could say. Everything was awkward enough. When she apparently did not like him or anything. Adrian should just try for friendship right now, seeing as the crush might be fading after he heard that she did not even want him to know he was a father, and she fell in love with Colton. Adrian put his arm on the armrest and supported his head with his hand. How could things have been so horrible to them? Adrian heard Samantha ask what he had been up to, or rather how has he been. Adrian turned his head toward her before he answered, "About two weeks after you left the beach, I left and went back to Russia. I decided I wanted to make my dad proud, and the rest of my family, and started to look for a job. Where I work now, um, it is similar to being the FBI in your wo-er, in your country. My trainer has been beating some sense into me. Quite glad to, and I've been attempting to gather my life up in order." He looked at her with a rather serious expression, one he would not have carried otherwise. There was so much different about him now, it was nothing he could help. The stress of being an Auror was laying on him, and now he had to worry about leaving his son behind. Finally, Adrian inquired, softly and gently, "Would you object to me perhaps...holding Jesse?"

Samantha bit her lip. She felt horrible for doing this to Adrian. At first she thought that this was the right thing, making him miserable as she was. But now that she actually had the chance to do it she was already feeling sorry for him. This was not how it was supposed to go! Samantha had been looking forward to giving Adrian a piece of her mind but she didn't expect that she would end up taking pity upon him as she did it. Looking down at her son she tried to think of something to say to make herself feel better. It would probably make Adrian feel better too. Perhaps if she explained what had happened to her after that night then he might get a slight idea on how difficult her life had been and why she was so angry. ”Look, I'm sorry I didn't say anything to you. I really didn't think that you would have. You seemed like the type that hated being held down by something.” Samantha started off. Remembering the couple of months before she knew she was going to be having a baby. She was put on bed rest but that didn't seem to help her much. It wasn't until she was taken to the Doctor's that she found out that she was pregnant. At the time that was a hundred times worse for her than any kind of disease was. Especially when her parents were in the room with her when she found out. Samantha's life had change greatly from the day on. But was it for the better? Jesse had fallen asleep within his mother's arms. Soft coo's could be heard from him as he slept peacefully. Samantha retrieved his pacifier and placed it in his mouth to help him relax further. Thank goodness he had actually fallen asleep instead of staying up all night like he did the other day. Now if only Samantha could get him to eat properly and not get into everything when she went off to get the housework done. Sure he was a baby and was likely going to get into trouble no matter what he did, but as a mother Samantha worried about him constantly. Adrian mentioned how his life had been going lately. He had been doing very well for himself actually. He had gotten his life together and managed to get himself into a very good job. Though she wondered if it was good to have a foreign FBI worker in her house, hopefully Adrian wasn't a spy or anything. The last thing she wanted was to get arrested for something this silly. ”FBI? That's impressive. You're doing a very good job at getting your life together it seems. You're doing better than me at least. The life of a single mother, it's not very exciting. It does a good job at repelling others actually.” Samantha was young and had to drop out of school. She was a statistic. People judged her harshly for it too. Much more harshly than she would ever judge Adrian. As far as the people she knew were aware, Adrian wasn't in the picture at all. But if he wanted to be, there was little she would do to stop him. He needed to at least form some sort of bond with his son. Maybe once he knew how to take care of a baby, she could get him to babysit. Then again he might be too busy with his new job. But it was worth a shot wasn't it? Samantha lowered the bottle down and sat it at the table on the side of the sofa. Adrian asked if he could hold Jesse and Samantha turned to stare at him. It would be cute to see him try to hold the little wiggle worm. He was asleep right now so Adrian would have gotten lucky, but it would still be cute.

”Hold your arms out.” Samantha instructed as she shifted. Then she ever so carefully moved close so that she was right next to Adrian. Then she placed Jesse right in his arms and adjusted them so that he was holding the baby the proper way. For a nine month old he wasn't all that big. Back when he was a newborn, Samantha was nearly afraid to hold him. He was so small and she thought he would often break. Once she was sure that Adrian wasn't going to drop Jesse she scooted back so she was on her side of the couch. Her back rested against the side and she was turned to face him. Samantha could barely guess what Adrian might be thinking about right now. This was the first time he was holding his own child and it was probably overwhelming for him. Hopefully he wouldn't do anything to wake the baby either. If he did then she would so graciously allow him to practice getting him back to sleep. That would be one hell of a show to watch. Jesse was fussy when he didn't want to go to sleep. ”It's unreal how much he looks like you. It's like seeing you twenty years younger or something.” Samantha yawned tiredly. It was weird how tired she was too, it was probably because this was the first time she was able to relax in the past few days with Jesse being as fussy as he was. It really stumped her how much the two of them looked alike. He had her eyes at least though. There was one thing about him that made it obvious that he was hers. Because the rest was all Adrian. Samantha started to think back to what Colton said. About keeping an eye on the child closely. ”You know, he reminds me of you a lot too with the strange things happening all the time. Strange things always happen around you both. Like the other day, I left Jesse in his crib and went to the kitchen, when I came back into the room, all his toys seemed to magically get onto the floor. While he was still in his crib!” Samantha explained as she continued to stare at Jesse and Adrian. She was still in shock on how much they looked alike. Maybe Adrian could explain the weird things that happened from time to time. The same weird coincidences seemed to happen around his father a lot too. How unusual was that? Samantha shifted and bit her lip. Was she going crazy or something?

Adrian was still so very worried about ever telling Samantha what type of child that she was raising. A wizard, because he had never known what a half-blood squib would ever be, and if they even existed. He knew that they existed in pure-bloods that became a little too inbred to perform magic. Sometimes he thought that if it were not muggles, they would have gone extinct by now. He wanted nothing more but to continue on, blood status or not. One of the reasons why he joined the Aurors, to combat against the for people like some he knew that would hate what he had apparently went and done with Samantha. They created a cute little half-blood baby boy. Well, he might not even be carrying his last name. He did not even know if Samantha knew his last name, but she knew his real name now, Adrian Rurik. Thanks to Colton for sharing that information. Adrian looked over at Samantha and he nodded softly. He understood her reasoning, but it still bothered him to the point where he was just, depressed by it. Adrian decided to tell her, “I know what you mean. I don’t seem the type, but the reason why I would have wanted to know, is that I would want to be like my father the way he was to me. Before he died, he loved us all, and I would want to treat my son the same way.” Adrian looked down before he shifted his mint green eyes to his lap. At least Jesse was asleep now, but it was really nice to look at his son, wondering what he was going to be like when he was older. He hoped that his son would one day be a Gryffindor like himself, because he still thought that Gryffindor was the best house that there was. Yvo did not even go to Hogwarts, but thought that he would be a Ravenclaw, Colton and Ariah were Slytherins, but who was to say if there would be a Hufflepuff from his son. That was a nice house too. He looked at her and he started to chuckle. He didn’t know how to explain what he was to Samantha without spilling the magical beans. He could probably tell her some of the basics without so much telling her that magic existed. Well, she would have to know eventually. Adrian smiled, “Well, we are called Aurors. One must grow up at some point even if staying young is favorable. Here is a good thing, it is not doing a good job at repelling me. I really did not mean to change your life so much, with having a child and all. It was the last thing I ever expected to happen to me for that matter, let along someone else that did not think about it. Did you even want to be a mother?” Adrian was confused a bit, but he figured that questions would help him get to know the mother of his son. Having children while two people were not even in a relationship, it was not something that he had wanted to do. Perhaps one day, but ever since his ex had screwed him over, literally, he had been too scared to get hurt again so he did not bother with long term relationships. Adrian hoped that though for the sake of Samantha and Jesse, he could help them out in the best way that he could. He did not know how he could in a way, but perhaps he could keep his little secret from her as long as Jesse has not done anything magical right now. Adrian hoped that he would be able to hold his son. He remembered when he was very young, he had held Ariah when she was a baby. But he had not held a baby in years. He just wished that he would be good at it though.

Holding his arms out as Samantha told him, he watched as Samantha moved over closer to him, and then in his arms was placed the baby boy that he managed to help Samantha create. Jesse was adorable. He was thankful that Samantha had adjusted his arms so that he was supporting the head properly, and Adrian looked down at the one that managed to melt his heart. He could not believe that he was a father to such a beautiful boy. He could make some pretty babies, and he thought that Samantha helped out a great deal as well. Samantha had moved over to her side, even though he was fairly comfortable with her at his side. It seemed like it was right to him. A perfect little family with Adrian’s dark secret that he had passed onto the son as well. Sooner or later, he would have to tell the one that carried him for nine months and cared for him alone for six more. She was a good mother from what he could tell, and he smiled even more when she said that the baby looks just like him. He looked over at her as he saw that she had yawned. She was tired? Adrian nodded, and he said, “Yeah, kind of unreal. I had a few baby pictures, and well, except for the eyes, I looked just like Jesse.” He could have gone on with how he figured that Jesse was going to be one handsome he was going to be when he was growing up. He had beautiful parents, that was for certain. However when she brought up how Jesse reminded her of him, with all the strange things, his eyes went to hers for a sheer moment. Automatically he knew why that stuff had been happening. His son was brilliant. Adrian looked down at Jesse. So, he was a little wizard now wasn’t he? That was good, in his opinion but not so much for Samantha’s. He let out a sigh and he murmured, “I know why that is happening. I guess you can say that all the strange things that happen are because I myself am gifted. Uh, it is hard to explain, but easier to show. But I will only reveal, if you really want to know.” Adrian did not want to freak her out. He knew that some muggles took magic seriously, and others were amazed. What if she would not want to have anything to do with Jesse after this or him for that matter? Mixing with muggles could be tricky, and that is why he was scared to have ever had a baby with them. Too late for that.

Samantha felt really bad. Adrian just wanted to be a good father like his own father was to him and Samantha robbed him of having the ability to do that. She wasn't being a very good person. It was hateful to hold something like this against Adrian and on top of it expect him to just be okay with it. After all it was his baby too. It especially made Samantha feel bad when she heard that Adrian's father was dead. It made her think of Jesse and how he would feel about never seeing his father and wondering about him when he got older. Looking down, Samantha sighed softly to herself. Now she just felt horrible for not telling Adrian about this sooner. ”I feel horrible. I should've told you sooner. You can visit Jesse anytime you'd like though, as long as I'm home and not at work or something. I'm sure Jesse would like the chance to get to know you.” Samantha told him. It wasn't going to fix everything. It wouldn't even come close to fixing what she had done. Samantha judged Adrian too harshly. She made assumptions based on their past together and let it affect her own son's life. It was a horrible thing to do. Hopefully there was a way that she could be forgiven by him. Hopefully there was a way that Jesse could forgive her when he was old enough to understand the mistakes she had made when she was young. Hell, she was still young. There were still mistakes that she was going to make. There were mistakes that Adrian was going to make still. But neither of them had too many chances to mess up at being parents. They needed to get their act together and work on raising their son up to be the best person he could be. Jesse needed a mother and a father. So Samantha was just going to have to let go of her pride and let Adrian have the chance to take care of his son. Hopefully he knew how to take care of a baby. It wasn't hard once you were used to it. Samantha almost laughed when he said what his job title was called. He was called an Auror? That sounded pretty silly to her. ”Auror? Hm that sounds a little bit silly if you ask me. But a job is a job.” Samantha smiled softly. She was glad that he had something good going for him. He deserved to have a good life and a good job. Hopefully it was nothing dangerous though. Samantha raised her eyebrows in surprise when he said that her being a single mother was repelling him. She hadn't expected him to say something like that. ”Reall-er well of course it wouldn't. He's your son. I thought about having kids in distant future. I wasn't quite ready to be one when I had Jesse but I'm glad I have him. He keeps me from being lonely all the time.” Samantha stated and kissed the top of her son's head and smiled down at him. He was so precious. Even if it was under bad circumstances, she was glad he was born. Samantha had dedicated the past nine months to taking care of him and she intended to spend the next lifetime making sure he had everything he needed.

Samantha smiled softly. It was hard to believe that she was sitting here talking with the father of her baby and the one man she had come to think about again and again. Normally she didn't bother with guys because they spelled trouble for her. But it was going to be hard to ignore Adrian now that they had a baby together. She doubted they would ever get together though. They would probably meet other people in the distant future. ”You must've been a pretty cute baby then. Because our son is like the cutest freaking baby I've ever seen. Not that I'm being biased or anything.” Samantha muttered as she rested her back against the couch and yawned. She was still tired, and it was comforting to see her son getting to spend time with his daddy. Even if he was asleep during it. If she had a camera with her other than her phone she would totally be taking a picture of it. It was pretty damn cute. It seemed like Adrian knew why these weirds things happened from time to time. He claimed that he was gifted as well. But he would only tell her if that was what she really wanted. Samantha woke up a little bit and looked at Adrian. What was he talking about? He was making it sound like he had something like powers. ”Do you have superpowers or something?” Samantha asked as she pushed some of her hair away from her face. Since she was tired at the moment, she would probably believe close to anything instead of calling him a liar. The only issue she had was that she was also a bit worried that he was a mutant or something? Maybe Adrian was just pulling her leg to see how she would react? That would be pretty mean but, she probably deserved it for keeping his son from him. Samantha sat in silence as she waited for him to explain to her what he meant by what he said earlier.

Adrian looked over at Samantha as he held his son, and he forced a smile as she said that she felt horrible, and she should have told him sooner. True, she should have, but he did not want her to feel horrible about it. He did not intend for that to happen. Perhaps he was growing up faster than even he realized it. It was a good thing however. "I don't want you to feel horrible. I would understand if I was in your position. Though when I said I was a good guy, I did mean it. I just can get a little conceited... And with Colton and them, I guess I deserved to be mistrusted. Not fit for a father I suppose. But dad wouldn't want that, and I am changing it now. I guess I am still a huge mystery to you. Thanks for giving me permission to come see our son, it means a lot." Adrian was unsure if she even knew his last name. He was going to have to be an open book now. He just wished that he could make it up to her somehow. At least he could come visit Jesse anytime he wanted. For Jesse, he would have to get everything together, reveal to Samantha the other world, that would soon be Jesse's. Adrian knew that being with a muggle would make Yvo uneasy, but he didn't care. This was his life, and he would do what he wanted, and what he pleased. He still liked Samantha. Both were entirely young, but Adrian was getting up there in his twenties, and soon he would be thirty. However, since he was magical, his aging did not particularly show all the way. Adrian just did not want to make a mess of things, any more than what he had already. He impregnated a girl, practically left her even though he did try to find her. He was still around when they had slept together, and it meant a lot to him. Making love, that connection, it was something he loved to have. It was just emotional, the only escape he had. That was probably why he had not done it with anyone since Samantha Daisy. The moment that Samantha laughed at the name of his job, he looked over at her with his mint green eyes before they narrowed and he smiled. It was adorable, she had no idea what dangers he was in just by working. "One that could cost me my life one day, but I enjoy it," said the Auror with a subtle smile, yet it was still worried that he was going to leave Jesse without a father. "I guess I should add two people to my will in case something were to happen." He would make the two of them very comfortable, and that would bet he least he could do for them.

Laughing, Adrian said, "That's not what I mean, even if he wasn't, you'll still be the cautious Samantha that I will always be attracted to, but probably never have. But if you ever need a friend, I can be a great one. Loyal to the core, brave, much like a protective lion." He was hinting toward his house, the noble house of Gryffindor. His son had given Samantha a new type of life, but she had chosen to have him, and it was something that he adored. She risked changing her entire life, for one single child that probably should not have happened in the first place. Adrian was thankful that he had a son too. He simply loved Adrian. Adrian wondered if Jesse would have his conceited mind, but he was unsure if he would, simply because of Samantha. She had to have given him some genes, with an attitude of some sort. Adrian chuckled when she said that he must have been a cute baby, and that their son was the cutest baby she had ever seen. "I think you might be just a little biased, but it is okay. I would have to agree." He smiled down at his son, loving him more than anything in the world already. She looked like she was getting tired, but first things first, he would have to show her his huge secret. He was nervous that she was going to reject him and their son over it. When she asked if he had superpowers, his cheeks flushed a bright red. He was definitely no superhero, but it was just the muggle way of describing it. Adrian admitted, "I guess you can call it that. Might as well show you... Please take Jesse." He very carefully handed over their son before he stood up off the couch. He slowly pulled out his wand, and he breathed heavily. He could be risking so much, but he was not going to be lying anymore to her. Thinking of the happiest memory he could summon, he intoned in a clear voice, "Expecto Patronum!" Out of his wand came a silvery white glow, that soon took form of an animal. The form looked like a golden retriever, only it was white, with all the shapes. It ran through the living room, illuminating the area, running through the air before vanishing. Adrian put his wand away. "This is what I am, and anyone that has a child with people like me, have magical abilities. Jesse will, Colton does, Gabrielle does, their son Gavin does. My mother and father and so forth. It isn't something you can take away either. That's why...those things have been happening with Jesse." Adrian was fully prepared to leave, if she didn't want to have anything to do with him after this. It might be too much for the muggle.

Samantha didn't think there was any way she could truly apologize to Adrian and have it really mean something more than just the word sorry. No parent should have their child kept from them. Adrian may have been a jerk in the past but he wasn't a monster. "But still, I didn't really have a right to keep him from you......I'm sorry for being unfair and judgmental toward you. If you'd like, on some weekends he can stay with you for a couple of days. You guys could spend more time together." Samantha shrugged. It was the beat offer she had right now. But once she was sure she could trust Adrian with their son, and Jesse trusted him more, then she was be more than willing to let him take Jesse for the weekend. It would give them a chance to bond and give her a chance to relax for the weekend. It wasn't like Samantha hated being a mother. Her son was one of the most wonderful things to ever happen to her. It was heartwarming to spend every morning cuddling and feeding her son. A baby was a wonderful thing. But every parent needed a break sometimes. Samantha rarely hired a sitter for Jesse either because she wasn't rolling in funds either. A baby required a lot of money and time. So it didn't matter much what Samantha wanted, she had to do what was best for her and her son. If that meant doing whatever she could to make sure Adrian was in his life, so be it. Samantha settled further into the couch to warm herself and watch as Adrian held Jesse. It was surprising to see how gentle he was with the baby. "You're a natural." Back when she had first met him Samantha would've barely thought that Adrian would be capable of holding a baby like that, let alone be acceptable father material. But here he was, proving her wrong over and over again. At the very mention of Adrian's job being dangerous, Samantha frowned. "Don't talk like that." Samantha commanded. It was bad enough to think that he had a job where he could possibly be killed any day. But that he was insecure enough about his abilities that he thought he should add her and Jesse to his will. He already had a will? He was too young to already have a will in her opinion. But Samantha didn't want to press the issue because it was his career and she barely knew him. It would be obvious to have her suddenly feel like she needed to always be worried and concerned over him.

"Attracted to?" Samantha questioned as she delicately raised an eyebrow. He was once, and still was attracted to her? Samantha tried not to flush. Of course he had to be at least somewhat attracted to her because he did sleep with her. But the fact that he still cared enough to be here with her, it meant something to Samantha. She never really had anyone like her like that. No one who wanted to be with her. Then again, Adrian might not even want to be with her. He might just be slightly attracted to her because she gave him a son. There was no telling what he was feeling but Samantha knew that she shouldn't look into it. When Adrian stated that he might as well show her and asked her to take Jesse, Samantha stood up and took her son into her arms. Samantha wrapped a blanket around Jesse and placed him on the couch. Instead of sitting with her son she stood and let her eyes remain carefully rested upon Adrian. Samantha was about to ask what Adrian intended to do with a stick, but he wasted no time in showing her. A frightened gasp escaped Samantha's throat when she witnessed a white silvery wisp of light in the form of a dog shoot from the wand. It ran about the room before it disappeared and Samantha was left speechless. Not even words could be formed in her mind right now. What was Adrian? Did that mean her son was going to be like this, or was it just him. Feeling shock overtake her, Samantha felt her brain grow fuzzy and her head blank out. Before she could even realize what was going to happen, Samantha felt her body fall to the carpeted floor and her world go dark.

Adrian might not have been the deadbeat dad that he was unintentionally turning out to be, but he just did not want his baby to end up alone, without knowledge of his background. Adrian smiled weakly over at Samantha, knowing full well that she was right, and then he was offered some weekends so that he could stay with Jesse. He would love that a lot. "I suppose. But I would love to see him on the weekends, all the weekends that I can manage." Adrian knew that it would be somewhat hard for him because of his job, but he would manage for his son. Right now, he was unsure that he was going to be able to come up for all weekends. But he would sure as hell try. No Death Eater or Auror was going to come between him and his son. Adrian wanted to know more and more about Jesse, like what he liked to play with, what he liked to eat, how to feed him, change him, bathe him, everything. He wanted to be able to be with him all the time, but it would be too much too soon to ask Samantha to live with him in another country just so he could spend more time with Jesse. He knew that she was not going to go for that. For now, he will do what he could. He wondered if she even caught on with how he could get back and forth from New Zealand to here, then again he never told her where he lived. He was a natural at holding a baby, but then there was the thing with him being a natural of making a mess of everything, and become a walking disaster. He could ruin something easily, and hoped that he would be able to keep holding the baby like that. He looked over at Samantha, and he chuckled, "I don't lie about my job. But it is always good to plan for the future." Adrian would have to talk to that lawyer because he was going to leave half and half he had to Colton because well, he had a family, and Ariah because she was the baby of the family.

The Auror just wanted to have everything sorted out in case he was knocked down by the forces that rested ahead. Adrian knew that he was not the best Auror, and he knew that he could easily be taken out by someone. Auror or not Adrian was still human, and he was as human as the next muggle. A shot to the heart with a gun or a killing curse, and he would be out. Adrian smiled and nodded softly, before he confessed, "Yes. Attracted to. Exactly how it sounds. I've liked you for a long while now, but well, since we have a son, we might want to be friends for a while. Cause well, we don't know much about each other. Though at least you know that I like you." Adrian had truly changed since the moment that he had met her. The job warped his mind. It changed him for the better, or else he would have still been that jerk that she had met down at the beach, when he was running from who he really was. Hiding behind a life that he wanted so desperately to have, he would never have to hide that again. He shifted his position on the floor, as he stood, and he watched as Jesse was on the couch. e was sleeping, and slowly he watched her every reaction. She looked...scared. Adrian's heart sank, and knew that the next thing that was going to happen, was that she was going to call the witch hunters or something. However he started to freak out when she fainted, and fell to the carpet. Adrian quickly got down on his knees and next to Samantha. He picked up her body and basically cradled her. His mind was going wild. Was he supposed to get a wet rag? Was he supposed to stay here until she woke up? Was he supposed to cast a spell to help her? All that was rushing out of his mouth was, "Oh my god, I am so sorry!" Just over and over and over. It was his fault for bringing her into this mess, but her son, and his, was doomed to be a wizard. She needed someone to help her settle.

Samantha didn't remember much when she started to come to. Her head was swirling and her stomach was churning. She did recall the fact that Adrian told her that he was attracted to her. Which was awful sweet considering he did knock her up. But after that she drew a blank for a moment. "Ouch." Oh that's right, she had fainted. Samantha had never really fainted before she wasn't exactly sure what had happened. Only that something made her blank out, and next thing she knew, her body hit the ground and she had woke up here. Her summer green eyes peeked out beneath her eyelashes and Samantha looked up at Adrian. Oh yeah, he was here too. It was coming back to her quickly. He came over and met his son for the first time, that was why he was here. He appeared to be cradling her body in his lap too. At least he was sweet enough to have taken care of her while she was passed out. Her eyes shifted around the living room, her son was still peacefully asleep as he was wrapped in his nighttime blanket. He looked like he was exhausted though. Samantha tried to remember how long Adrian had been over for. But her head still seemed to be full of fuzz. It was hard for her to completely remember. Samantha wiggled her way out of Adrian's arms and brushed some of her thin hair aside. He looked panicked. "Adrian....what happened?" Something must have happened if she had woken up on the floor and him looking nervous as hell. Samantha was kind of surprised that he was here even. He really must have changed since she had seen him last. She had to meet this mentor guy of his. He had done wonders to help Adrian grow up. Samantha wondered more about his home life though. She still did not know much about his personal life. She kind of knew his brother. But she had no idea about his real job, or his real home, or anything about him. In fact when she had met him and did all that stuff with him, she thought he had another name. Until it was revealed to be Adrian. Adrian was a much cuter name in her opinion. Then it all hit Samantha. She suddenly remembered why she had fainted. That thing that Adrian did with the stick! The glowing animal! Samantha's eyes grew wide and she found herself backing away form Adrian as quickly as she could. Fear was evident in her light colored eyes. Samantha got to her feet quickly and grabbed the closest object to her. A baseball bat. She held the bat in front of her, like it was going to defend her or something.

"A-are you a demon?!" That was the only conclusion she could come to. That she had slept with a demon and now he was here to steal her soul. Or something like that. Oh goodness, did that mean Jesse was one too!? "Oh no....is my baby a demon too!?" Samantha didn't know how to fight demons! They were evil. Surely beating Adrian with the bat was not going to actually save her. This was horrible. Samantha was so scared right now. Did she need to call in a priest or something? Where was the damn phone when she needed it? Samantha started to back away, closer and closer to the kitchen. That was where the phone was. "Please don't eat my soul...." Samantha muttered softly. She had given birth to his son. He could at least spare her life or something small like so. She did not mean to become involved with him like this.

After Adrian had figured out what he needed to do regarding what happened with Samantha, it was too late, since she was waking up. He looked down at her, and he smiled softly, hoping that she wouldn't freak out, but he was timing it in the back of his head. Although the Auror had to admit, holding Samantha like this was pretty awesome in of itself. Maybe he was growing up faster than he had realized now that he had a son and had a pretty dangerous job. At least Jesse had not woken up after all of the drama, and he wondered if she would be scared. However she had wiggled her way from his arms, and he let them fall to his side. When she asked what happened, Adrian hesitated. How can he word that he cast a magic spell to have some shining white dog prance about the place, before vanishing. Then she fainted. How was he supposed to explain that? Especially to someone that had never been around magic before, or anything. He didn't know what to say so he looked down at his hand instead, with his wand packed away and out of sight. He slowly reached around the back of his head, before he gave a sheepish smile and said, "Give it a few moments, it will all come rushing back to you on what happened." It was better than explaining it. It was the only thing he had right now as of the moment. Adrian slowly rose to his feet and dusted off his pants with his hand. Adrian kept his eyes on her to see if she would finally react to it all. Since she fainted, he knew that it wouldn't be a good reaction at all, and he was expecting to have something hit him or worse, she call some sort of witch hunters. Surely muggles had something like that still lurking around.

Then Adrian started to see that it was all coming back to her, rushing like a train or something fast and muggle like or whatever. She looked so scared and frightened. And she backed away from him. He kind of expected this. However what he was not expecting was Samantha grabbing a baseball bat. Instead of using the wand to turn it into flowers or whatever, since that would probably freak her out more, he rose his hands above his head, like he was surrendering to the police. "H-hey now! No need to become violent!" Adrian then had to keep from laughing when she asked if he was a demon. He knew that he wasn't since Dementors that she would never see could suck out souls. He knew that he had a soul. Adrian didn't want to have to do anything now, but he knew that something had to be done. Adrian let out a sigh, and he looked over at Jesse who was still sound asleep, though looked as if he were sleeping. "Samantha, I'm not a demon, for Merlin's sake. I have a soul, and I don't eat them! What I am, it isn't evil. I fight evil. Much like police officers but not with guns." Adrian watched as she had started to get closer and closer to the kitchen, and he knew that he would have to do something to get her to become less afraid. "I am a wizard, and so is Jesse. I made a shining, glowing dog appear, not some man-eating hellhound. Don't think there is a spell to make that anyway... Now, can you put the bat down? You are scaring me." Adrian wondered if that would be enough to make her drop the bat and have her listen to logic. Whatever seemed logical at this point.

Samantha still had the bat clutched tightly in her small hand. Even if Adrian didn't seem like he was going to hurt her or Jesse. What if he was demon that wanted to eat her soul and was just trying to trick her into dropping her guard. He tried to explain to her that he wasn't evil, and he instead was one of the good guys. Samantha did know that Adrian didn't seem like he was that bad of a guy. But what she wasn't sure if he was actually to be trusted or not. A person could seem to be one way, but actually be a completely different way. 'Which Adrian seems to be doing a lot lately. First he turns out to be a sensitive guy, now he also appeared to have powers too.' Samantha thought to herself as she continued to keep her gaze locked onto Adrian, her eyes carefully watching his every move. Why did this sort of thing have to happen to her? Why did she of all people have to meet Adrian Rowan? Oh yeah, that's because her life sucked big time. She always had these things happening to her. No one else but her. The weirdest thing came out of Adrian's mouth suddenly and Samantha snorted. Did he honestly just call himself a wizard? If so she really must be losing it or something. "Did you honestly just call yourself a wizard?" Samantha asked with a raised eyebrow. Her nose also crinkled up as if she was trying to think really hard about what he just said to her. A wizard. That was most certainly one she had never heard before. How silly was he? "So you're saying you can pull a rabbit out of a hat and stuff?" Samantha didn't mean to ask simple but stupid questions like this one. But she was just trying to understand what it was that he was able to do. Samantha was confused and scared right now. She wanted answers and she wanted them as soon as possible.

"W-wait...." Samantha started. "Jesse is a wizard too? Is that why all these weird things are happening to me?" Her eyes drifted over to her baby boy whom was sleeping soundly right now. Her son was doomed to be able to do whatever it was that Adrian just did. With that freaky light thing. Did that mean he was a threat to Samantha? Samantha didn't know what to say or do about this. She was just so lost and confused on how to handle this kind of situation. This wasn't exactly something her parents prepared her for. They taught her how to deal with things like relationships, having children, getting a job, all those sort of things. But when it came to things like how to raise a future wizard, she was clueless. "How am I supposed to raise a baby that has powers?" Samantha questioned Adrian as she let her eyes fall back onto her son. He was so sweetly cute while he slept. It was hard to imagine that he had power beyond belief. Then again, Samantha had no idea what a wizard really did and didn't do. What if he accidentally turned her into a frog?

Adrian was completely unsure of what him showing off his magic would do. He was completely terrified that she would call the witch hunters or something, if they still existed of course. Adrian was trying to remember History of Magic, but that class had always bored the crap out of the former Gryffindor. He just could not help it, he wanted to live within the muggles and the magical world. He just could not think of a way to do so. But his son was strictly from half and half. Adrian wanted to show that he was this young man that wanted to be apart of his kid's life. He was adult, enough. He just could not do many muggle things. Though the Auror was positive that he might have just scared and traumatized Samantha so much, she might not want to have anything to do with him. Adrian looked down at his feet before he nodded, "Yeah, it is what we call ourselves. Wizards and witches. Better than demons because that is just hurtful." At least he was speaking how he honestly felt. That was something he had not done in some time. It was getting more and more difficult to talk to a muggle about his life. What he was. Sometimes he thought that his family was right, that muggles would never understand or accept people like him. That was what he was thinking right now. Samantha, someone he liked, would never accept him for what he was. The next thing that she asked sounded almost ridiculous. While they could not pull rabbits out of hats, they could conjure one.

Adrian reached around and he scratched his head, "Uh, that is what your wizards do with illusions. We can conjure rabbits and other animals though, just not out of hats." Adrian didn't know if that would make a difference, but he was hoping that she would understand that much of what he was saying to her. Then the new news of having Jesse as a wizard hit her, and he slowly nodded. All those weird things, that was Jesse's doing. "Yeah, he might show more magic later on in life too, but then there are schools that help with learning and controlling magic." Adrian was thinking of Hogwarts at that time, and how he was sorted into the noble house of Godric Gryffindor, while Colton was sorted into the sly house of Salazar Slytherin. Adrian just hoped that he would not get hit by anything at all. He was scared of Samantha with a baseball bat. It sounded ridiculous, but he just did not want to wake up in some alley. Adrian let out a sigh and he said, "I think people do it all of the time, but I think it is better when someone that knows of the magical world, raises a magical child. But I don't want to take Jesse away from his mother. I can answer any question you want, although I will tell you, if Jesse is anything like me, then he will stir lots of trouble when he gets older. I was a handful apparently." Adrian smiled and he looked over at his son with admiration. He was beautiful, but he was positive that his son would cause lots of trouble.

<COLOR color="#000">Samantha was still stunned. So all this time Adrian had really been a wizard? It was still hard to believe but after the trick he had shown her earlier, she had no choice but to believe that magic perhaps did exist. Samantha didn’t want to be a nerd, but she began to wonder what other sorts of magical creatures existed other than Witches and Wizards. Did werewolves exist? Or giants? Hell there was even Bigfoot and other such myths that could now exist out there in the world somewhere. ”So if Wizards and Witches exist, does that mean other mythical creatures exist? Like unicorns and fairies? Or even mermaids? Sorry if I sound like an idiot for asking. But I’m just really curious.” Curious was barely able to describe what she was feeling right now. There was a whole other world out there that Samantha had been ignorant of. That possibly millions had been ignorant of. It was easy to understand why this world was kept hidden from those who couldn’t do magic. Samantha could already imagine the press having a field day with it all. Not to mention how people would react. When people were afraid, awful things tended to happen. Her baby was one of those people that were different. The last thing Samantha wanted was for someone to hurt her baby because they felt like he was a threat. Samantha’s mind vaguely went back to the Witch Trials that happened in this very town many years ago. People who were wrongly accused of being witches died because of the fear that people had. Samantha could only wonder if perhaps they really were witches and wizards. ”I’m sorry for calling you a demon too. In my defense though, more people believe in Demons on this planet than they probably do Wizards and Witches.” It sounded just plain out stupid. But it was actually kind of true. There weren’t very many cases mentioned where it involved people speaking about wizards and witches. But sometimes, the religious ones tried to mention demons or something of the sort. Samantha did still feel bad for calling Adrian that though.

Samantha sighed and sat down on the couch. She wasn’t sure what to do. If Jesse truly was going to possess these abilities, then she had no idea what she could do. Samantha was nothing more than a single mother, who was currently attending school to become a nurse. How was she going to help Jesse deal with having magical abilities? Samantha glanced softly at her sleeping son. He looked so precious. ”To be honest, I have no idea what I’m going to do. I know nothing about your world. So it isn’t like I know how to handle of any of this.” Samantha admitted. In fact, the first time Jesse would probably end up using magic, Samantha would likely just panic and go call her parents. It wasn’t like she could keep his powers from coming too. It sounded like something that was inherited. Not gained. ”Perhaps there are ways you can help me out? If you don’t mind.” Samantha asked softly. ”I can believe that. You being a handful.” She didn’t want to say anything to him, but she still thought he was some extent. Even without him being magical, Jesse had the ability to be a real pain in the butt. Especially when he wanted to get into stuff. Samantha remembered the time he got into her makeup and drew on the wall with her lipstick. Even if it was really cute to see him try to explain why he had done it, Samantha wasn’t too happy to come home to see that. That was some really expensive makeup too. Though Samantha barely wore it. Why would she need any. There was no reason for her to try and impress guys these days. She was broke and had a kid. That was like an instant turn off for most guys.

Adrian hoped that Samantha would not try to hit him anymore, or even call him a demon. That was quite hurtful. He looked down at the baby that was sleeping rather soundly. He looked so precious, it was almost impossible to disturb him. He had a son, but it was very nice. He thought that he could be a good father, and he would make sure of it. He looked over at Samantha when she asked if other magical creatures existed. Well, she was apart of his world now, thanks to him, so he would have to inform her. "Unicorns, fairies, vampires, mermaids, giants and so much more exist. But it won't be likely that you will see them. I know that those without magical blood can't see the darker, more sinister creatures - that won't be around us I am sure - but I don't know about the other creatures But yes, they do exist." Adrian knew that the muggles would love to dissect the magical creatures, and was glad that they were hidden from the world, but he felt bad for the rest though. He looked back at Jesse before he allowed a smile to cross his features. He hoped that no one would bring harm to Jesse, or even Samantha for that matter. Jesse might have been an accident, but he was not regretted. Adrian already loved his son. Adrian let out a sigh, and then he heard Samantha's apology, before he looked at her with his mint green eyes, and he smiled. He could understand that. "I figured. Religion was something that I thought was curious when I lived in the world. So, I suppose I can forgive you. I understand where it comes from and all." He knew that not many believed in things like him, but he was one of those cases that was amazing and whatnot. He had read up and listened to people that believed in demons, but they never believed in magic.

Adrian knew that he would have to be around her, all the time now. Now that he had a son, he was not going to miss another moment of the child's life. If anything, he would just leave it at that. He looked around the quiet house, before he watched her take a seat on the couch. Even he relaxed a little more because she was not close to a bat. Adrian walked over so he was in front of the couch, and he knelt down in front of Samantha. He heard that she had no idea what she was going to do, and that she would not know how to handle all of it. He then heard her request, and he looked up at her. He smiled and he nodded, "Yeah, of course. Um, if you don't mind, I can charm up another room for myself, and if you want to go to college or something, I can watch over Jesse. At least then, you will have someone around to help you out with this magical business." Though when he thought about it, he would actually be moving in, but he did not want to take her to where he lived until she was good with a career first. Having a baby really would slow things down a bit. Adrian chuckled when she believed that he was a handful. He was one even now. Though he had grown up a lot, so he would no longer be a handful, but there was a son to take his place in raising some hell. Adrian grinned before he said, "Sorry, but looks like, as parents, we are never going to be bored with Jesse...Daisy." It was somewhat difficult for him to say Jesse's real last name, having never taken his own, which he would have preferred, but Samantha was the mother. She carried and raised him for all this time. She just would need his help when it came to raising the kid, and teaching her how to handle the magic Jesse would soon produce.
