Nia made her way out of the Great Hall, leaving the sound of music and people laughing, enjoying themselves, being happy, behind. Tears were streaming from her eyes now. How could she be such an idiot and kiss James, they was never any chance in hell that he would like her back the way she liked him.

She wanted to go back to her dorm room before completely breaking down but she couldn't make it that far. She felt her heart ripping apart, she had just been blantely rejected by the boy she liked for another girl. Once she was out of the Great Hall she felt the tile floor on her bare feet, not even caring how cold the tiles were. She turned the corner of and through her back against the wall and slid down to sit on the floor, her face in her lap, and she cried. Cried for she was worth, cried until she was dry and couldn't cry anymore, not caring who would see her.

Natasha watched wide-eyed at the scene in the Great Hall. Becky ran out, James followed her. The other girl, the one whom James had been kissing, had run off in the other direction. Natasha stood watching, her mouth wide open. Follow her best friend and brother, or some stranger who was obviously broken-hearted.

Somehow, Nat found herself running after the blonde-haired stranger. Her gold sandals tapped a beat as she ran after the girl. She had decided to wear something a little different to the ball this year: a red dress with a gold mask. Natasha found the girl on the ground, crying her eyes out. Natasha was not in the mood to be nice, anyone who was in love with her brother was an instant enemy to Natasha. She looked at the girl, her face hidden by the golden mask. There was no mistake that she wasn't in the mood to be helpful, her posture said it all. Natasha waited for the girl to notice her, glaring at her.

As Nia sat on the cold floor she heard people exiting the hall, she decided that she would join the crowds so she didn't look as pathetic as she already did. She looked up to she an older girl standing over her. She seemed to be glaring at her, even though she had a mask on it was obliviously clear. "What's your problem?" Nia sneered at the girl as she stood up and evened out her dress.

Natasha ground her teeth. "My problem? I think you're the one with the problem. Why did you do it? Why did you kiss him!" She shouted the last part. Natasha looked quite deranged, she was yelling at some stranger. A few people coming out of the hall looked at Natasha briefly, smirks on their faces. Natasha didn't care. Becky Gale was one of Natasha's best friends, and she wanted to know what was going on.

Nia folded her arms across her crest and continued to glare at the girl, the tears still fresh in her eyes, as she listened to her shouting questions at her. Nia lets out a small scoff. "I don't believe any of that is your business" she replied back, she was in no mood to talk to a complete stranger about her feelings.

Natasha rolled her eyes at Nia's response. "Oh, too bad. I do believe it's my business." she smirked. She took off her mask, and looked at Nia, eyebrows raised. Natasha looked like a blue-eyed, female version of James. "I'm his sister, and apparently he asked my best friend to the ball. So I do believe it's my business, thank you very much." she said savagely.

Nia raised her right eyebrow at the girl as she said it was her business, somehow Nia didn't think so. Nia watched as the girl took off her mask, she looked familiar and as she said she was James' sister she felt a pang of hatred towards her and her brother for what had happened a few minutes previously.

"Well I don't know what your brother" she sneered, "Told you, but he asked me to the Ball ages ago." she told the girl. But now she understood why he ran after the other girl, he had asked two to the ball and apparently liked the other better.

Natasha looked at Nia, a look of pity flashed in her eyes for a split second, and was replaced by hatred. "Oh dear. Shall I give him hell for you?" she asked, smirking.

Nia rolled her eyes at the girl, she just wished she would shut up and let Nia go to her dorm room. "I don't really care what you give him." she said, turning to walk off.

"But you can give him this message from me. Tell I never want to see him again because he was a right jerk asking two girls to the ball. And you can give him this." she said throwing the bag that contained her teddybear and flowers that she around her wrist at the girls feet and she unclasped the necklace that sat on her neck, "And this too." she said as she threw the necklace along with the mess of flower petals on the floor.

Becky ran into the Entrance Hall, her bare feet thudding on the cold stone. She watched as Nia threw the necklace to the ground, astonished. She couldn't think of anything to say, so she quietly walked up to Natasha and stood right beside her friend. Yikes. Becky thought. "Uh... Nia?" she said softly.

As Nia turned once more to make her way back to the Slytherin house she heard someone say her name. Turning round, her eyes now red with tears, she saw the girl James had ran after. Her blood began to boil, Nia had never felt this must hatred before, she didn't know how to react to it, but she just let her Slytherin instints take over her. She made her way over to the girl, "You." she sneered, pure poision coming from her mouth. As she drew closer to the girl she raised her arm, her hand now clenched into a tight fist. Just a few feet more and she would finally get back at the girl, let's see if James will look at her again with a black eye and bloody nose she thought as her fist almost hoovered over the girls face.

Patricia ran after Becky up to the Entrance Hall. She hoped nothing bad was going to happen, tonight was already ruined for some people, hopefully the rest of it could be slavaged. Jeze Becky is a fasat runner Patricia thought, out of breath, as she made her way up the steps that lead into the castle. From the doors Patricia stoo, shocked at what she was witnessing.

Patricia didn't know Nia well at all, but she didn't seem like the one that would result to muggle styles of violence. Then again she was a Slytherin and most importantly a woman scorned. Patricia ran up to two of her best friends and the younger Slytherin. "Don't even think about it." she warned the Slytherin as she grabbed her arm from behind, pulling her away from Becky. "Now, surely we can sort this out. Everything was a huge mis-understanding Nia. You have to believe us." she pleaded to the girl.
