[Pearl Firn]

It was late and all of the students were asleep, she thought this would be the best time to sneak away from the Hospital wing for a bit. She made her way silently up the tower with a pen and ink. She was going to write to her parents, and her new son Megumi. Pearl still remembered the day.

She was at her parents home in the mountians of Canada for a bit and a little boy flood into the living room. Pearl was surprised at first, but then guessed he must be lost by how scared he looked, but then the flames turned green again and Arisa showed up. "mom, please get grandma and grandpa" Arisa said in a soft voice before going over anf giving the little boy a hug and showing him things in the living room. Pearl confused, went to go find her mother and father before Arisa explained to all of them who the boy was. Another one who had suffered under the hand of Edward Havishmen, but this time, someone had died. Hope and Dustin had been outraged, but Megumi fit right in with the family.

She awoke from her memory to find her self in the place she wanted to be. She sat down at the wondow and began writing in her neat hand writing.

My dearest family,

I'm writing to tell you everything at Hogwarts is fine, much less work to do this year, it gets a little dull. I was wondering how you all are and if Megumi is enjoying the country, is he still crying at night? I only wish I was there for him, he looked so sad when me and Arisa left. Arisa is enjoying school, maybe a little to much, she has been getting out of hand so much lately, and after last year I'm worried. Please write me back soon and fill me in on everything.

Once Pearl had finished her letter she went to go find her owl named Hooter and brought him over to the window, "Okay Hooter, you've got a along trip, your going home with this letter" she told the owl while fastening it to the big barn owl. "I'm sure you'll be fine though, and remember, I don't expect it there tonight, don't hurt your self" she said before giving him a pat and sending him into the night. She watched him for a long time untill she couldn't see him anymore. Pearl stayed there and looked into the stars, it was beautiful.

 

[Remus Firn]

Remus couldn't sleep he was dreaming of his Fiance`, Again. He walked outside and trotted off to the Owlery, at least he'd have the birds company in there. He advanced up the stairs into the Owlery, his pitter patter very visible as he went up. Remus went into the Owlery advancing quickly to find that Pearl was there, "Oh." He said suddenly, he didn't expect any one, "What brings you up here?" He smiled to her as he advanced in. He was wearing what he usually did, except he had removed his jacket.(Refer to siggy)

 

[Pearl Firn]

Pearl heard somone coming up the stairs into the owlery, if it was one of the students they would be in trouble. She smiled though when she heard the familar voice, it was Remus. She turned around to face him her pink dress blowing in te night wind. "Hello Remus, we meet again I see" she said with a small half smile. "I'm just writing a letter home to check up on things" she said, "what are you doing up here?" she asked curiosly. As far as she knew, Remus had no family to write too.

 

[Remus Firn]

Remus smiled over to her as he saw her turn around to him, "Indeed we have met again." he smiled as he walked deeper into the Owlery. He moved over to a wall which he lent on, "Couldn't sleep..." he smiled briefly, "I come up here when it happens some times, The Owl's are always up." he chuckled to Pearl as he pet one of them on the head, that sat behind him.

She nodded as he replied that he couldn't sleep, "yeah, the owls can be great company" she replied. She looked around the owlery lost for words, what could she say really? This was the most social interaction she had had with someone her own age in 11 years. Remus really was her only friend in the world. "Remus," Pearl said akwardly, "your the only friend I have in the world, and I'd like to thank-you for that" Pearl said even more akwardly, she looked down at her shoes and ruffled her hair waiting for his responce.

 

[Remus Firn]

Remus looked at her as she said his name, curious of what was next to come from her, "Your Only friend?" he said to her, "Well every one else must be unaware of how kind you are." He smiled to her, "It's not something to thank me for..." He said to her with a smile as he moved off from the wall, so he stopped leaning on it, "You do in fact need to cheer up, I'm sure most of the Professor don't go down to the Medical Bay all too often, so that may be one of the main reason's you don't know many others?" He questioned to her in a cheerful tone.

Pearl nodded, when he used such a cheerful voice she couldn't help but feel a little better. She looked up into his handsom face, "thats one factor, but ever since I got married a never was a very social creature" she admitted, "Edward wouldn't allow it" he spat out with an angry look on her face, "buts hes gone now and I can do what ever I wish" she said with a small smirk on her usually kind looking face. She had never told anyone except her familt what had happened at the house with Edward, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't be putting my troubles on you" she added suddenly embarressed and ashamed.

 

[Remus Firn]

Remus shook is head at her, "It's fine." He smiled to her briefly. He looked down to the floor, thinking to himself 'She told me something personal, i should do the same in return...' he thought as he looked back up at her, "My Fiance`... Well I'm not sure if I've told you this or not... But my Fiance` was killed one week before our wedding..." He said as a tear filled beneath his eyes, "I.. Argh.." He said turning away unsure what to say now as he peered at the Owl's. "I've never told any one that really... " He spoke looking out the door he had entered through.

 

[Pearl Firn]

Pearl caught her breath when he said his Fiance` was killed a week before his wedding. She walked over and put a hand on his shoulder, "I'm so sorry, thats just terriable" Pearl said in a soft vocie. "Thank-you for sharing that with me" she added in the same voice, "I have no idea how hard that must have been for you." Out of impulse Pearl took her arms and wrapped them around Remus in a gental friendly hug, the kind a mother gave to there child when they hurt themselves.

 

[Remus Firn]

Remus looked at the floor as she hugged him before he pushed away gently, not to offend her or take it the wrong way, Just as if he was moving to another spot in the Owlery. Remus moved off to an Owl and pet it, "The reason i cant sleep is because of the Dreams i have about her... Every night." He spoke as he pet the owl some more.

Pearl nodded and walked back to her place by the window. If you dream of a person who has died a long time ago, then it suggests that a current situation or relationship in you life resembles the quality of that deceased person. "I wish you didn't have to hurt like that" she whispered to herself, "I wish I could help" she added, the hooting of the owls made her almost impossiable to hear her, but you need to come to terms with your loss on your own, however long that may take she thought sadly.

Remus didn't hear much of what she said, it more so sound like 'Help Could be your wish' Remus didn't think much off it as he looked out the window toward the Lake. "Every night i dream of the night she died, over and over and over again." He said looking out, "It's been this way for years on end..." He said, "I think i need something to help me sleep and get me through the days..." he said looking back at Pearl.

Pearl looked into his eyes, "Remus, I can give you potions to help you sleep and potions to calm you down so much you won't feel anything, but I can't do anything to help you cope with your loss" she replied in a sad tone. She felt her heart beat pick up the more she looked at the man infront of her, he really was handsome, and kind, and smart. He also had a sad past, she wondered slightly if he would have come hear to teach if the love of his life hadn't died.

 

[Remus Firn]

Remus glanced to the floor then back up to her, "I Need Sleeping Potions as well as Something to calm me down." He smiled to her, "It would be could if you could get me those ASAP." he said to her with a smile before looking back out the window, He liked Pearl but he felt she had a connection with him that he wasn't ready for.

 

[Pearl Firn]

"okay, I'll get them for you" Pearl said, she knew they wouldn't help, but at least he'd be able to sleep. She stuck her head out the window and pulled out her wand, "accio sleep draught and claming draught" she said. A few minuites later they came zooming in the window and she grabbed them, "here you go" she said handing them to him, he'll find soon enough that they don't help him she thought sadly.

 

[Remus Firn]

Remus grabbed them as she handed them off. "Thanks." he smiled to her before he lent back onto a wall, "Pearl..." He began, "You have feelings for me don't you..." He said hesitantly to see if his theory was in fact correct, he had his doubts but then again, the thing that told him she had feelings was more powerful then the doubt he had in his mind.

Pearl smiled at him and was just about to say your welcome, but he beat her to something. She was completely caught off gaurd. Pearl froze to the spot she was at stairing at Remus with wide eyes. well do I? she thought, I havn't felt like this since, well 1st year when i had a major crush on that 6th year boy, Adri, but that was just a silly crush, its diffrent with Remus she thought. "I-I don't know, I might" she answered stupidly. She thought a little more and finally came to a conclsion, "yes, yes I do" she finally replied before leaning against a near by wall and putting her head in her hands.

 

[Remus Firn]

Remus was surprised in many ways but at the same time had expected something of the sort. "I see..." He said slowly, "I...- I also have feelings for you, But perhaps not to the extant you do?" he said to her looking at the woman's head in her hands. "Don't feel ashamed its fine." he smiled to her in a comforting tone. He had brief feelings but he knew he would never have feelings like he had for his Fiance`.

 

[Pearl Firn]

Pearl listened to him speak, "I see" she said in quiet voice. "Well then, I'm just going to leave before I embarress my self ferthur(sp?)" she said in an emotionless tone trying to hide ho sad she felt. "I hope they help" she replied nodding to the potions before she started decending the stairs of the owlery. She jst wanted to go back to bed, maybe she would take some sleeping draught herself, or perhaps good ol' fire whisky would do the trick.

Remus didn't go after her it would just make things worse, so he apparated up to his room where he went to sleep and for another night had the bad dreams, he didn't take the potions tonight.
