Instead of following their Prefects to the common room along with the other Gryffindor students, Aodhan, accompanied by Andi turned a left to head outside. Neither of them liked the mandatory house meetings at the start of the year so together they had decided that the two of them wouldn't be attending it this year. Aodhan grinned at his best friend as he led them towards the great lawn. He did know now how they got themselves at this point but he had to admit that he did not mind it at all. It was definitely not something he ever expected to happen but then again he probably wasn't the only one. Aodhan grinned at Andi and asked, ''Do you think Kingsley would mind us not being there?'' The Professor probably wouldn't even notice that two of her students weren't in the common room with all the first-years that needed her attention. He chuckled at the memory of himself and his best friend as first-year students. It seemed like such a long time ago since they first met in the streets of the Obsidian Harbour.

When Andi first admitted her crush to Aodhan, she felt uncomfortable opening up about her feelings to him and terrified of both being rejected and losing the friendship they had built during their years at Hogwarts. In all honesty, when she returned to her dorm that night she wished she could reverse all that had happened, not wanting to face the next morning and the reality of admitting she liked Aodhan as more than a friend because she assumed the worst. She assumed that Aodhan would never like her back and anything she felt for him would be considered a joke which was part of the reason she was scared to admit her crush to begin with. But to her surprise more than anyone elses, they had talked everything out which was very grown up for a pair of teenagers, and returned to Hogwarts for a new school year as officially more than friends. Their plans to skip the house meeting and catch up on what happened during the holidays was what Andi was looking forward to more than anything else and the reason why she walked alongside her more than best friend with a wide smile on her face. She was tempted to reach out and hold his hand but was interrupted from that thought when he turned to her, asking if she thought their head of house would mind them not attending the house meeting. She shrugged in response, and doubted anyone would notice they were gone if they didn't draw too much attention to themselves while they were outside. "Nah, she's probably got more important things to deal with." Andi answered, chuckling a little and pausing her steps before sitting down in the grass. "Alright, sit." She said to Aodhan, expecting him to join her and tell her all about what he had gotten up to during the holidays.

Aodhan saluted Andi when she told him to sit and said, ''Aye, aye, boss.'' sitting down next to her on the grass with a grin on his face. Something weird had happened during the holidays and the Gryffindor wasn't really sure what to think of it. He still wasn't even sure if his Aunt and Uncle were playing a joke on him or not. ''Sooooooooo,'' Aodhan started. ''Aside from the news that I am going to be a brother or cousin or however it works when you're adopted, nothing exciting happened during the holidays. My Uncle says we're going to move soon because our house will be too small with another child living in it, luckily for you, owls are really smart.'' He said. ''Oh, and I fell out of that tree again. Can't seem to reach the top for some reason... Belladonna has probably jinxed it so that I will fall out every time I try.'' With their fifth-year starting tomorrow, Aodhan couldn't be more excited to finally start learning a few proper spells. He'd finally be able to annoy his sister back, ''What about you? How's the family doing?''.

Andi smiled as Aodhan sat down like she asked, resting her elbow on her knee and propping her head up with her hand to listen to him eagerly. She was glad he took the initiative to tell her about his holidays, as if it wasn't one of the first things she always prodded him about whenever they returned to school. Though her expression gradually changed at the news he would be moving houses. The news that he was going to have a younger sibling, cousin or whatever it could be defined as was not new, but Aodhan needing to move houses was, and the concern that he might move schools as well was playing in her mind. It would be just her luck to lose one of the people she cared about most as soon as she confessed her true feelings to them. Not only that, Aodhan was the only friend she had in school other than Signy, and the idea of being in Gryffindor alone terrified her. "Are you still going to go to school here if you move?" She asked, trying not to sound as worried as she felt. Aodhan had mentioned owls being smart and seemed a lot more optimistic about the move than she was, which should have told her everything would be fine but she wasn't smart enough to realize that.

The subject of Aodhan repeatedly trying and failing to climb a tree was at least amusing enough to distract her from her worries, and she smiled again at the thought of him being adamant he could climb the tree no matter how many times he had fallen out. "We could practice your tree climbing this semester, that way you'd be better at climbing trees and know if it was her fault you were falling out or not." She suggested, shrugging. When Aodhan asked about her holidays and how her family was she shrugged a second time. Her family were the same as they always were and that was what she didn't like about it. Stability was a nice crutch but she still couldn't shake how boring farm life was now that she'd seen part of the wider wizarding world through hogwarts. "They're the same, as always." She answered, not knowing what else she could say about them.
