How bizarre!

Ashlynn slung her bag over her shoulder as she walked along the cobblestone roads of Obsidian Harbor and gazed around her in wonder. All over the place there were magical things; owls in cages, people with wands, cauldrons, and heck, there were flying broomsticks! She grinned at the craziness of it all. Her hectic life back home was nothing compared to this. Boy, was she gonna have a great time here.

She forged ahead through the busy street, mind already filling with ideas of pictures she could draw of this. A song rose in her throat, and she began to hum as she peered into the many shops lining the streets at the bizarre things going on inside. “Amazing!” She breathed as a man demonstrating magic shot beautiful flowers and purple sparks from the end of his wand. Just watching all this was making her extremely excited to start school. Who would’ve known? Her, excited for school? That was a first.

 

[Lyra Sato]

Lyra was skipping towards the Obsidian Harbour. Kei Kun (Lyra's little brother) had been spending a lot of his time there, playing with strangers and pulling pranks. Perhaps Lyra could meet him somewhere in there. It was either the Brightstone Village or the Obsidian Harbour, she pick the Obsidian Harbour. Lyra had love that place from the moment she came there and she had been spending a lot of her time there with her brother.

Lyra then saw an asian girl and she skip towards her. Meeting asian was rare for her she hadn't seen much of them. She then walk towards the girl "Nihon Jin desuka?" She asked as she have her eyes widen looking at her hoping she was Japanese.

Ashlynn staring into the window of a store filled with robes. Robes! It was so bizarre; was this how they dressed here? She glanced down at her own gray skinny jeans and long sweatshirt. Korean fashion, you could say. She smiled as she considered how different the two outfits were. She was just about to turn and move on to the next store when an Asian girl walked up to her and asked something in another language. "Nihon jin desuka?" It sounded like that. She cocked her head, confused, then realized she might have mistaken her for another ethnicity.

"Um hi, I'm Ashlynn. I'm sorry, I don't speak your language, but I speak English and Korean if you want to know!" She stuck her hand out in greeting. "Do you live here?"

Lyra was surprise that the girl didn't understand Japanese, she was assuming that the girl was Korean right before she told her that she was Korean. "Oh Korean? Annyeong Haseyo then" She smiled. "I've been interested in asian language, I could speak the three of them even tho I'm not yet fluent" She laugh looking at her. It was true, she could speak all the three of them Japanese, Chinese, Korean but her Japanese was the most fluent. She had been interested in language, somehow.

"Yes I live around, what about you?" She asked the girl. "My name's Lyra by the way, Sato in case you want to know my surname" She giggle as she extended a hand to her wanting her to shake it.

Ashlynn smiled as Lyra shook her hand with a giggle. She was a bubbly and happy girl. “Ashlynn Lee, then, if you want to know my surname. My parents are actually divorced so I live in Seoul and Wellington, New Zealand. But I mostly live in Korea. I’m only here for the summers, cause my brother’s here too, and he is totally awesome.” She grinned. “So do you hang out here a lot? I know nothing about magic so I’m just getting used to this stuff,” she said, gesturing at the odd trinkets and things around her.
