Dina Stanley was not in the mood to be around a big group of at present. She wasn't particularly good with crowds and considering it was the first couple of days of the term, she had no friends in her own house yet. The only other person here that she knew was Alexander, the boy she'd met randomly in London. She hadn't even realised that he was a wizard at the time, though she supposed that he thought that same about her too. Still, he was in a different house to her, so they couldn't sit together for meals, she wouldn't feel right. Crowds always made Dina uncomfortable. It wasn't because they were loud or because there was a lot of people, she came from a pretty big, noisy family after all, but it was the distrust and unsureness of groups that always turned her off. She was the kind of person that trusted others easily, she'd never been in a situation where her trust had been irrevocably broken, only tested and so she did not understand the necessity of others to see only the bad. So, despite it being lunch time, Dina was more comfortable on the grounds of Hogwarts, then in the castle itself. If she was hungry later, she might decide to go back in then, but for the meantime, she was quite happy minding her own business by the lake. Her thoughts went to her family and how they were all probably doing their own thing right now. How her father was probably getting help with his work from her eldest brother Cassiel. Cass had graduated the year before and had decided to take up the majority of the work over her father whilst he was still caring for her, but now that she was in school, it wasn't s much of a problem.

Her thoughts were undisturbed until she heard a slight shriek and then turned to catch a glimpse of a figure falling out of a tree and running off towards the lake. Curiosity piqued, Dina immediately gave chase and followed the figure to a small contraption they appeared to be building. It was all completely makeshift and it didn't at all look sea worthy. "What the f*ck are you doing?" She was not exactly the most well spoken person on the planet, but she got her point across fairly well, even if she sounded a little intimidating. Dina shielded her eyes from the sun and got a good look at the thing. Or rather, the supposed boat. "Wait, are those the Gryffindor sheets? What the hell is wrong with you?" He was destroying perfectly good sheets with no purpose. They were probably both going to get into trouble now! She didn't think it would be fair either. She watched him, tilting her head as she surveyed the pile of sticks and sheets. "What is that? Will it even float?"

Desideratus was planning an escape.

He had been at the school for just over twenty-four hours, and he was done. He knew he would never like anyone here. Damide was his best friend, and no-one would be as cool as him, and that was a fact the slightly older boy had accepted. Now all he had to do was get back to his friend - practically brother - partner in crime and everything. He was not sold on this whole 'education' thing. There seemed to be a lot of rules to follow, and he was not prepared to follow all of them. He could not live under the thumb of some old people as if they were his parents. They weren't. He didn't have parents and he was completely fine with that. What he was not fine with was the fact that he was here by himself, virtually abandoned by his kin. The part-veela was having none of this rubbish. He was going home, even if it meant he was swimming back. But having been told of creatures in the lake, he thought better about pulling out his trunks and going for a dip, and decided on a raft. he had never built a raft before, but how much science could there be? Get a bunch of sticks, something to hold them together, don't be too fat, and presto! Home, sweet home!

He waited until it was lunch in the Great Hall before preparing for his escape. He had some bed sheets from Gryffindor Tower by the lakeside, and was now up a tree preparing to collect the last of the branches he needed. Would this be considered vandalism? He didn't think so, and continued working. However, when he made a wrong move, the entire branch he was on snapped, and went crashing to the ground. Naturally, he let out a shriek as if the louder he screamed the less damage he would cause, and rolled off the traitor of a branch. Well, he was not using that one if it was going to drop him out of a tree. He had to sail home, he could not have traitorous branches with him. Nursing a sore arm, Desideratus walked back to his raft with some more sticks, and laid them down, preparing to bind them all in the sheets. Would this sail? He thought so, but he was no professional raft builder. He jumped, however, when he heard someone behind him. On his knees, he turned to face the red-head, eyes wide at the language she greeted him with. "Do you kiss your mother with that mouth?" he questioned, referring to the sort of words that had left it. His Desislava would die if he ever said anything along those lines. He clenched his fists and hid the sheets with his body, rolling on them. "You can't have them!" He said stubbornly. "There's nothing wrong, just go away. Right now." He was not going to let this girl tell on him. "And yes it will float. It's a raft, clearly." He swung his arm over the 'raft' majestically as he continued. "And it's going to get me out of here. The least you could do was stop googling at it and either shoo, or help."
