hopefully not as bigger fail as halloween.

the yule ball. a night all the other girls in her house seemed to be talking about for weeks. myuna wasn't like the typical girls. she wasn't that interested in the gossip who was going with who. she however was going with someone. Myuna kickett the tomboy, was going to the ball with the only real friend she had made in the school, Albie. the day after she had asked him she had written to her gran asking for a dress. as una knew she would be she was happy to supply her a dress. my little anne is becoming a proper girl, I knew magic school was the right thing for you came the note with the dress, her grandma insisted on calling her anne (part of her muddle name) as she thought is sounded more "proper" than Myuna or una. she was glad when she unfolded it it wasn't too frilly or girly. in fact as far as a formal dress went it was pretty una. she didn't take long getting ready. about half an hour before the ball started she come out of the shower. put on a very little make up. and the dress glad it zipped up or she would have to go in her wetsuit. she strapped on the shoes that had come with the dress cursing her gran as she wobbled along on the heals. she hoped that she would trip but given her and albies track record she thought someone would fall over and given the heels it was most likely her.
she headed up to the great hall and went straight to the food. she got herself a plate of prawns, and some rice salad. she found somewhere against the edge of the room where she could see a fair way. she started eating as she waited for albie to turn up.

Albie was nervous, a fact he had to admit to himself as he adjusted his tie for about the sixth time in three minutes and double, triple-checked his reflection in a pane of glass. He'd never even really been to an event like this - he'd been to some vaguely formal functions before, but they were pretty much end of season dinners for clubs, and the formality was usually alleviated by the dirty jokes his team mates told, and the embarrassing speeches. The Yule Ball, while a school event, seemed much classier. It was a ball, not a dinner, for one. And there were actually girls there, and one girl in particular Albie was looking forward to seeing.

It took him a moment to spot her, all dressed up, and when he saw her he rushed over to her, a goofy grin on his face. She looked absolutely stunning, not the typical tomboy look she usually had. Not that there was anything wrong with that, of course, that was one of the things Albie liked about her after all. "Wow," he breathed, giving a low whistle as he looked her up and down. "You look...wow. Great. Really great." He cursed himself internally, he was just a bit dumbstruck and made stupid. Why do girls always have that effect on guys? he found himself wondering, as he cleared his throat. "Food's not hexed or something, right?"

it was a few minutes before una saw Albie walking into the hall, she waited for him to see her and come over. his expression was priceless when she saw her. "thanks, i think. but you had best not get used to it. the dress is mainly to keep my gran happy" she said, getting straight to the point like normal. her gran would probably have grounded her if she had found out she hadn't attended the ball, or even worse gone in her normal clothes. As soon as she got home tomorrow she would be in boardies (the long guys style) and either a rashie, bikini or singlet over the holiday. "you scrub up pretty well yourself" she said winking it was sort of teasing him.
she looked at the food when he asked if it was not hexed. "nah, it tastes just like prawns, and if there was anything wrong i would be hexed by now" she said "they're just prawns, and rice, do you want some" she said offering him the plate. "so what do people do at these things? I haven't got a clue" she said. honestly the most forma thing she went to was the community christmas party back home where everyone came and celebrated christmas. which was mainly just a barbecue, and most of the evening had been dulled by alcohol.

((sorry it sucks))

Albie nodded, a wry smile on his face. "Remind me to thank your gran one day," he winked. He knew she didn't suit wearing fancy dresses all the time, and he liked that. She wasn't afraid to be one of the guys, to run around and have fun with life - that was the Una who was his best friend. Of course, it was still the same Una standing before him. He'd always thought she was pretty, though, and tonight she was absolutely stunning. It was dorky of him to even think, but he felt pretty damn lucky she'd asked him to the ball. "Thanks, I think," he added when she complimented him, grinning back. He still wasn't used to wearing a suit. He didn't really feel that comfortable in formal clothes, either. The tie was confusing him - was it supposed to feel like a noose?

He grabbed a prawn off her plate and took a bite, looking mock-perplexed before holding a hand up to his throat. "Oh no, oh no..." he started, before swallowing and bursting out laughing. "Sorry. Couldn't resist." Albie shrugged when Una asked him what people did at these events. "No idea." All the Christmas parties he'd witnessed had been his club ones, where everyone got rowdy and made stupid speeches, or his parents had hosted some when he and Anna had been really little, and they'd been all stiff and formal while a babysitter had been hired to keep Anna and Albie away from everything. "Eat, sit around, maybe dance." He didn't really know how to dance. It wasn't something they taught. Anna was the dancer, anyway, not him.

myuna rolled her eyes when he said to thank her gran for him. "she really doesn't need any encouragement" she said if her gran had her way she would be always dressed in pretty skirts or fashionable pants, and a girly top. probably with frills or flowers or beads somewhere. thankfully they had come to some understanding over surf brands, and cheep tees. enough to generally enable her to dress as she wanted with her grandma Liz paying for most of it. he didn't seem sure about her compliment. "you look great, honestly" she said he did, she was glad she had asked him to come with her. he was the best friend she had at the school, and probably one or the best mates she had. she would probably miss his easy jokes over the holiday
she watched as Albie took a brawn and then started to choke though she knew it wasn't real. "ah, that one i hit with a mock chocking hex" she said smirking when his little show was over. she was glad she had found a friend who she could have a laugh with. she was glad she wasn't the only one who had no clue what they were meant to do. the only form al party she had been to was one that her grandmas friends had hosted for her birthday and if it was going to be as boring as that she would leave and go for a swim in the lake instead, giant squid and shark or not. she looked around at what others were doing. it did seem that albie was right. people seemed to be eating and drinking, or sitting around in groups both big or small or otherwise dancing. "out of those three i think that food sounds the best option for now." she said. her plate was nearly empty. and the calamari and the crab looked nice so did the cakes. she had her eye on the chocolate gateaux. "do you want me to grab you anything?" she asked.

Albie smirked, and nodded. "Duly noted." He smiled, more earnestly, when she complimented him again. "As do you, my dear, I wish I'd been a proper date and gotten you a corsage...or whatever it is dates do." Having never been to a formal or anything, and not really having any parental guidance, he wasn't sure what to do in a situation like this. At least he thought he was handling it well. He was enjoying himself so far, anyway, and Una seemed to be having a good time too.

He couldn't help but laugh at Una's comment about having put a hex on the prawn, he was glad that she had a good sense of humour and was happy to laugh at his dumb jokes and also joke around with him. "Agreed." He looked around, as if he was worried about something, and then leaned in close to whisper in her ear. "I don't even know how to dance." Chuckling lightly, he leaned back and straightened up. "I'll come with you," he said, looking over towards the food table wistfully. He was feeling pretty hungry. "Gonna see how much food I can fit on one plate." Grinning, he wandered over to the food table, in order to load his plate up with all sorts of things, even managing to squeeze a slice of cake on the side.

Una pulled her nose when he said if he was a proper date he should have brought her a corsage. "corsage, what am i meant to do with one of them. bringing a sense of humour is far more important" she said. seriously what was you even meant to do with a corsage. it was just a few flowers. they probably wouldn't survive the evening.
it was good having a friend with her it would have been dull if on her own. she saw his face become quite concerned and he leaned in to whisper something to her, expecting it to be something serious she listened and tried not to show her relief. she turned to him and then whispered in his ear. "no worries, I dance like a wombat with two left feet." she said before laughing. she may be good in water, and okay in air but n the land she wasn't very graceful. they headed over to the food table and helped themselves to some food. una managed to squeeze more prawns, some calamari, potatoes, mince pies, chocolate cake and cream together. it would be an odd mix when eating but if everything was nice then surly it wasn't too bad. "last but not least, I think they are both pretty full" she said placing a random lollie on her plate with a flourish as if to garnish. before looking to see if there was anywhere free. to sit thankfully some people had just vacated a table. "do you want to sit" she said picking up a drink of soda she didn't plan on falling and ending up with this odge bodge down either of them.

Albie gave a warm smile at her statement about the corsage. "Heh, I couldn't agree more." He didn't even know what you were meant to do with flowers. And he guessed that wasn't a thing they did here, or at least, not that he'd seen. Humour was the most important thing, and he certainly thought he was capable of it. Sure, his jokes were lame some (okay maybe a lot) of the time but as long as the two of them had fun.

It seemed the both of them had big appetites. The school always delivered excellent food though, so it seemed as though there appetites would be well and truly catered for, especially with the way they both loaded up their plates. Seafood, pies, some veggies (it was important to eat your veggies, he'd always been told) and some desserts. He couldn't help but laugh (his hand shaking a bit with the plate) when Una garnished her plate with a lolly. "Ten out of ten presentation. Well done," he said, putting on a pompous voice as though he was a judge on a cooking show. He picked up some soda as well, and nodded, walking slowly and carefully towards the table (but fast enough so that the table wouldn't get stolen). He didn't want to spill any of it either, after all, he had every intention of eating every last crumb on his plate.

He was also definitely going to commend Una on walking in those shoes, provided they made it back to the table safely. It seemed like something of a Herculean task. Albie sure was glad he was a guy, and didn't have to wear crazy things like high heels and whatever.

una knew albies sense of humor was a little cheesey though it was still sunny and the kind of humor you could play along with. she smiled when he said that it was ten out of ten for presentation it looked lit a total explosion to be honest. "and mr Vermeulen, your presentation is impeccable, I don't know what it is about it, but i would have to give it ten out of ten" she said taking the lollie and eating it.
The trip to the table was slightly harder than she thought, she had whilst standing still forgotten she was in heels, even though they were low ones. but as soon as she started actually walking she could feel them wobble beneath her. years of surging had taught her how to regain balance though it hadn't taught her how to do so with a plate in one hand and a goblet in the other. she wobbled and some of the potatoes and the mince pie ended up in the floor. oh well she had picked up more than she had wanted anyway. she placed the goblet down and too her wand from the pocket that had been sown in the seam of her dress. a wave of her wand and a recital of the word scurfy and the mess was clean. "I didn't want it all anyway" she said taking a seat at the table. "how come every time we are together someone ends up falling or almost falling over?" she asked. first time she had tripped over him, second time he had fallen in the stream and then they had both fallen in again, now this.

About to shovel some food in to his mouth, Albie stopped, looking at Una, who'd dropped a couple of things. Luckily, it wasn't too much, and she was able to clean it all up. "I must say, I'm honestly impressed. I couldn't imagine walking in heels - I'm sure I'd look great in them, I know - but seriously, it's impressive." He was actually being sincere, he honestly hadn't really expected Una to be the type who could manage in high heels. Even with a minor mishap, she'd done really well. He took a couple of bites of his...plate mess (some potato, delicious, some carrots and beans, not his favourite foods of course but still quite nice) before setting down his fork, not wanting to look like a total pig.

He shrugged at Una's comment about them always falling over. "You'd think we'd be better at maintaining our balance." Una was a surfer, after all, and Albie had done lots of different sports - mostly rugby and cricket, nothing balance intensive, but enough to give him decent motor skills. "Is this the part where I say a cheesy pickup line about falling from heaven?" he said, trying to look innocent but finding it difficult with the wicked grin threatening to split his face in two.

Una could tell that he wasn't joking when Albie said that he was impressed she was walking in the heels. "they arent too bad as they arent super hight ones, but they are probably going to have to come off soon before an actual accident happens. so you can give them a go if you want" she said. tucking into the potatoes, calamari and then chocolate.
"I guess my balance is better when my feet aren't moving" she said. when she was surfing her feet were well placed on her board, the same with skate boarding. when he asked if it was time for a cheesy pick up line she laughed. "you can if you want. but you don' have to, like really don't have to" she said though she could feel a slight warmth come to her face. trying to change the topic she thought about the holidays. "do you have many plans for the break?" she asked. she was looking forward to hers. the surfing, the vinyards, her mob.

Albie looked thoughtful for a moment, before shaking his head vehemently. "No, really, it's okay." He wasn't exactly keen to attempt to stumble around in high heels, especially not in a crowded hall. With a shrug, he shovelled some calamari in to his mouth, nearly choking when he realised he'd taken far too much at once, but managing to maintain his composure. Cautiously, he took a sip of his drink, before sighing in relief. "Oh good. I don't actually know any." He discreetly took another huge sip of his drink, in order to hide any colour that came in to his cheeks.

Albie honestly hadn't planned anything for the holidays. Christmas was...well the family put in a token effort, at the very least. There would be test matches to watch on TV, and games of backyard cricket to be had (which would be limited to just him and Anna, pretty much). He shook his head. "Nah, not really." Besides, it would be good to relax after the intense first semester. "You?"

una nodded when he said he was okay not trying the heels on. "I guessed you would say that" she said watching as he shovelled calamari into his mouth. "we had better smuggle some of that out for aspen." she said looking back to the table. she it wouldn't be hard. just take some in a serviette. and either take it up to the owlery or out to the forest for her. she chuckled when he said that he didn't know any lines before lightly punching him on the arm in a friendly manner. "good job" she said.
the talk of the holidays made her yawn. she was looking forward to having her bed, not the dorm bed. it wasn't that the dorm bed was uncomfortable just she liked her room. and it was nice to have a little privacy in there. "not really means relaxing right?" she said "I am looking forward to proper hot summer not the half summer they have here, and dawn surfing, or any surfing for that matter. spending time with my mob, especially my brothers. I also may have some work in the vinyards, or the kayak tours" she said.

Albie nodded when Una reminded him about Aspen. Thankfully, he still had some on his plate, he would leave it there so they could take it out to her, maybe they'd sneak out to the forest after this or something. "Definitely." It was a shame she couldn't join in the Yule Ball, but they'd hang out with her again soon and make it up to her. If she wanted to hang out with them, of course.

He wondered, when Una yawned, if he was boring her or something, and he hoped that wasn't the case. "Relaxing. And lots of cricket." If his summer was going to be reduced to only a couple of weeks he supposed he'd just have to make the most of it. In the laziest way possible. It sounded like Una had a lot more going on. "Damn, you're gonna be busy. So much for a vacation." He said it in a lighthearted manner, after all it sounded like she was going to have a great time, and she certainly seemed to be looking forward to it. "I'll write long, drawn-out letters to you and you won't even have time to read them," he added, with a faux dramatic sigh.

Una thought for a moment. ill pick up some st the end in a napkin en we can take it out she said. She could leve the heels just outside the front door of the castle. Though she wouldn't be able to go too far into the forest or it would kill her feet and there trees would probably rip the dress. actually maybe it would be easyer to sent it t her via owl I do t know how we'd be able to find her she said. Eating a fork containing prawns, potato and chocolate cake. And deciding heat it was an interesting mix but the cake didn't work with the others. i won't be that busy, the work is not a few hours a day and surfing is more leisure than busy just like your cricket. She said she had missed it when she was at school and she knew the first thing she wanted to do was to get back in the water. The lake just wasn't the same as the sea. i never pinned you as the long letter kind she said. write if you want but phone may be easier or email. I will try my best to reply however you want though she continued, not quite sure on how clued in he was with muggle technology.

"Good plan. Almost kind of romantic, isn't it, a moonlit stroll, this close to Christmas...to deliver seafood to a centaur." Albie gave a small snort of derision at his own statement. Of course he didn't mean it maliciously. Aspen was nice and Albie was looking forward to seeing her again. "Yeah, owl's probably a better plan." He gave a more lighthearted chuckle as he took a bite of the chocolate cake, not being able to resist the temptation much longer. "Wow. They never fail with the food here," he muttered through a mouthful of cake, clearly impressed. He never ate poorly at home, but it was almost like living in a palace, here, with the delicious food they were provided with.

Albie nodded when she stated that she wouldn't really be that busy. It would be nice for them both to just unwind and do things that they enjoyed, without having to worry about essays, or exams, or anything like that. "Those probably work better. Never really been much of a letter-writer. Or any kind of writer. Remind me to give you my email address and number before we go home." He wondered how many spam emails he'd amassed since he'd come to Hogwarts. His phone, too, was probably gathering dust. He doubted he'd have any messages. After all, given how he left his school in disgrace, he'd kind of lost contact with nearly everyone he'd considered a friend. They all looked at him with fear in their eyes, fear and hatred. He blinked, rapidly, before putting a smile back on. It was a fun night, and the point was to enjoy it. He devoured the rest of his food rather quietly, before leaning back in his chair with a rogueish grin.

"So, Una...might I have the pleasure of a dance?"

Una looked at Albie funny when he thought that it sounded romantic. "you know that's the second time that you tried to make a romantic comment in about ten minutes" she said teasing him. it was kind of odd though. and he could only think of one explanation os to why he would think that and that would be maybe if he liked her. did she like him. maybe. he was her best mate here. her thoughts were interrupted by him saying that the food was good. "yeah, it always is. those house elves are pretty good down there." she said absentmindedly not really thinking about it.
she was a little surprised that he had an email address, from what she knew wizards didn't, but then she remembered that he had said that he had only transferred this year and had not had any wizard education until that year. "deal. I'll give you my address when we get back to the dorm if you give me yours." she said. emails were good. she had her own computer in her room and didn't normally get emails much.
she was a little surprised when he asked her to dance with him. she kicked her shoes off ready to collect them. and took his hand. "a wombat with two left feet remember" she said taking his hand making her way to the dance floor. she started to shuffle slightly awkwardly and a little out of time, not caring if people were looking at her, judging her, laughing at her. she was just there to have a fun evening with Albie.

"I just can't help myself around you," Albie smirked, he just couldn't help but tease her. Yes, tease her. That's exactly what's going on here, he told himself. She's my best friend. It's not anything weird or anything. He smiled almost serenely, trying to hide his awkwardness. "Yeah, they're pretty awesome." He hadn't been to the kitchens, though, he figured he should check them out sometime. Of course, the kitchens provided decent meals at breakfast, lunch and dinner, and he'd been told not to snack too much, to keep healthy.

He nodded at her comment about email, and held out his hand as she stood up, taking off her shoes. He felt an odd warmth in his cheeks as she took his hand, but he put it aside. "Who cares. I can't dance either." He shrugged as he pulled her a bit closer, shuffling awkwardly from side to side as he leaned in closer. "As long as we're having a great time together, right?" Of course, at that moment, the music had to change to a slower, romantic ballad. Great, he thought, a little annoyed. As if I couldn't have been more awkward tonight. He looked at her with a shrug of his shoulders and a smirk, his typical cocky attitude betraying his inner lack of confidence as he snaked an arm around her lower back, hoping he wouldn't step on her feet or anything.

Albies comment brought a smirk to Unas face, and made her feel a little more confident in her self. it just was so, she wasn't sure, him. it was sort of cute. she could tell that the talk on the kitchens wasn't really going anywhere just to a dead end. so she didn't try to continue it. it was better for them to just dance and ty not to have any more accidents.
she felt him move a little closer to her as they moved along the dance floor. trying not to bump into anyone. she felt her cheeks warm up. looking down slightly she tried to hide it "that's all that matters" she said looking up at him as she heard the song change to a slower song she rolled her eyes "typical, as soon as we start dancing" she said the sigh clearly audible. howerver then she felt his arm around her back she couldn't help but move a little closer keeping her feet well clear of his and putting her arm over his shoulder.

"Relax. I totally know what I'm doing." Albie was lying of course, but Una probably knew that as well as he did. "I think it's the law of irony. That or whoever's in charge of music's having a good laugh at our expense." He shrugged at this, and carefully, awkwardly shuffled, looking down to make sure he didn't step on Una's feet while he danced. It was mildly uncomfortable, but the last thing Albie wanted to do was hurt Una in any way. Of course, that didn't stop him from accidentally guiding them in to a couple of sixth years. "Oh, sorry," he said abruptly, apologising to both the couple and Una at once, before bursting in to fits of quiet laughter. He worked hard to suppress his laughter - it was an awkward time to laugh, before leaning in a little closer to Una, so close their noses nearly touched...

...before he realised what he was about to potentially do, and drew back slightly, his cheeks flushing. "People actually do this sort of thing for fun?" he joked in order to take his mind off the fact that he came very close to accidentally kissing Una, or something. "I couldn't imagine anything worse." He didn't actually mind it, of course, but dancing sure was awkward.

Myuna was skeptical that Albei knew what he was doing, but she let it roll. it would sort of spoil the moment. "yeah, before we know it we will end up on Australia's funniest home videos or something" she said. not serious at all but it really was typical that the music would change from normal music to a ballad just as they started dancing. suddenly she felt a jolt as she had been steered right into a pair of sixth years. "sorry mate" she said apologising to them. thankfully they didn't mind too much and with a slight echo of laughter behind them they continued to awkwardly dance somehow managing not to trip each other up or stand on each other toes. The music seemed to engulf them as the chorus broke. all she could feel was albie next to her and the music. they seemed to be moving closer. she had enough experience with guys and slightly tipsy games of spin the bottle and truth dare to know what came next.
it didn't come. instead Albie had moved away. she was surprised that she felt a little disappointed. had she actually wanted him to kiss her. "I guess some people do" she said. glancing at the sixth years they had bumped into not a minute before. and a couple of other couples. they all seemed to be enjoying themselves. she looked back at albie and saw his cheeks were flushing slightly as his voice started again. "nothin' worse? yeah righ'" she said rolling her eyes. "so you woul' rather do anythin' than this" she said going on her tiptoes and kissing him quickly before moving back so she could see his face she could feel she was blushing and was for once glad she was a bit darker than most as it hid it a lot. what had she done? had she just kissed her best mate? not that it was a new concept for her, she had done it before but before was a dare. this, this wasn't. "i'm, um. sorry" she said hoping she hadn't done anything stupid to ruin their friendship.

"At least we'll be doing what we do best. Bringing laughter to the world." To be fair, dancing wasn't entirely terrible, it was really nice to be with Una and it was kind of enjoyable, in an awkward 'I hope I don't hurt her or anyone around here' kind of way. He was just worried he was going to get caught up in the heat of the moment and do something that made her hate him and completely ruin their friendship, or something. He didn't want that at all, he cared about Una a lot and he knew it would break his heart if she hated him, or if he hurt her in any way. Besides, they were best friends.

Right?

Of course as he pulled away, scared he would accidentally kiss her (and not be able to stop), she was the one who kissed him. "Wow. I. Um..." he started, a bit speechless, before breaking out in to the biggest smile he'd perhaps ever worn, Aw, what the hell. It's Christmas. "Don't apologise," he whispered, before leaning down and kissing her. What are you doing, Albie? his mind asked him, a little perplexed, but he didn't really care. Breaking away after a moment, he looked at her and winked. "Merry Christmas. Didn't even have to enchant mistletoe or anything," he blathered, his cheeks flushed.

una wasn't sure what she was doing. Albie was her best friend. okay maybe she did like him a little but she didn't want to do something stupid to ruin that. when he pulled away speechless she wanted to kick herself. you've really got yourself in the sit hole now una she thought. when thankfully he broke into the largest grin she had seen on him. she was relieved to say the least. maybe she hadn't ruined everything for them. when told not to apologise a small secret smile crossed her face and she looked down slightly. the next thing she knew he was kissing her. smiling through it she kissed back. it was only short but she was happy. maybe things would be okay and not ruined. when they broke away it was hard to go back to what they were like before the moment had caught up on them she looked up at the mention of mistletoe. "theres some up there,it wasn't there before. I reckon its so he teachers can see who to keep an eye on" she said realising that the song had changed to a thankfully more upbeat number. not sure what to do but realising they were standing still on the middle of the dance floor she took both albies hands in hers and started dancing, the sort of dance that involves swaying and stepping from side to side (not) in time to the music and moving arms in time to the swaying. "what should we do now" she asked not just asking about if they should keep dancing or sit down, but also asking if they should let the kiss mean anything, or if they should let it be a little christmas fun.

Oh mercy, what have I done? he thought to himself. Yes, he liked Una. She was clever, she was spunky, she had a great sense of humour, she was pretty and she was willing to put up with him. Also the kiss...well he liked that too. But they were best friends, he really didn't want to ruin the best thing he had in his life right now, and knowing him, he was bound to ruin it eventually. Then again...I don't know. He was confused and didn't know what he was supposed to do. He supposed, though, it was Christmas. It was fine to have fun and just forget about the consequences.

"Well spotted, professors," Albie drawled, squeezing Una's hands gently. He screwed up his face when she asked what they should do now. He got what she really meant, naturally. "I...really don't know. D'you...wanna sit down?" Albie looked more concerned for a moment, before shrugging. There was a part of him, the sappy, sentimental part, that wanted to take her in his arms and spend the rest of the night kissing her and being silly and romantic. On the other hand, he was sure that would get awkward fast. Even if things felt different between the two of them now. "Or do you wanna just...go up to the Owlery now? I don't...know..." He looked so lost and confused, he looked down at Una's face, almost begging her to give him some guidance, as he rubbed his thumbs along her hands.

"I guess the professors can be smart at times. just not often" she said. it wasn't that she thought that they were dumb or anything it was just that she had built into her by her cousins and friends a dislike of authority and that meant that she didn't like teachers as a rule. a habit that wasn't going to break easy. when albie suggested they sit down she shook her head. sitting down would be like a couple. and she didn't feel like a couple but the friend zone had been blurred this evening and she wanted it back, it was comfortable. "I don't feel like sitting down" she said she could feel his hands in hers squeeze slightly before rubbing his thumb along her hand. "I guess you don't have a time turner so we can go back ten minutes to unawkward things" she said trying to lighten the situation a bit. what she thought would be best is if they bumped well hopefully not actually bumped, but anything was possible given their track record) into someone they knew but she didn't know many people and she didn't think albie did either. going up to the owlery meant they would be alone, sitting down would feel awkward. and dancing wasn't working either. she realised the only way to clear the air would most likely to clear the air. "maybe sitting down is a good plan" she said slowly heading to where where were a couple of free seats where it was privet. as they passed the drink table she paused. she wasn't really thirsty but she picked up some water more as an excuse for a distraction than anything.
