Ana looked at Rebecca and smiled. "Hi Rebecca, I'm Ana." she said softly to the small girl. She had met the girl a while ago, and was now finally able to adopt her. It slightly worried Ana that Rebecca didn't talk, but Ana was sure it wouldn't matter much. She walked with Rebecca to the door of her house, and unlocked it.

"Okay, sweetie, I'll show you around the house." she told the little girl. Ana decided to show Rebecca her bedroom first. She walked down the hallway, and stopped in front of the door in the left. "The bathroom is in there, then the door down there is another bedroom." Ana continued to walk down the hallway. She opened a door which had a large purple butterfly sticker on it. "This is your bedroom." she said, showing Rebecca the room. "Now, are you hungry?" Ana asked.

Rebecca looked at the lady infront of her. She was going to be Rebecca's new mummy. The small blonde girl wasn't sure what to make of the older woman. She had been coming to the orphanage for a while, filling out papers and other such things. She introduced herself as Ana. Rebecca nodded and held out her arms to be lifted up. Rebecca couldn't talk so she couldn't answer the woman directly but she could answer through guestures. She didn't know sign language. They had refused to teach it to her because she could talk but just wouldn't.

She looked around as Ana took her to her own bedroom. She was going to have a bedroom all her very own. When Ana opened the door, Rebecca almost fell over. It was full the of butterflys and dolls. She ran into the room and felt the blankets on the bed. Looked at the toys, touched the purple walls. She was a very intelligent little girl for her age. Then she looked at Ana and nodded slightly whe she asked if she were hungry. She wondered what she could eat.

Ana was happy that Rebecca liked her room. It had taken Ana a long time to find things that a three-year-old would like. "Okay... What shall I feed you?" she said, more to herself than to Rebecca. She picked up Rebecca and carried her to the kitchen. She put Rebecca down and began looking around for food that Rebecca would like.

She wondered if Rebecca was allergic to anything. "Do you eat noodles?" she asked, holding up a packet of two minute noodles.

Rebecca looked at the packet Ana held in her hands. She'd never eaten two minute noodles before. She shrugged. She hoped that Ana would realise that she was saying she'd never eaten two minute noodles before. In the orphanage they'd mostly eaten soups and stuff, the orpahange had to be able to provide for all the kids there. She looked around the house. So far from all the rooms she had seen, she figured that she would like it here. She looked around and wondered if any-one else lived here, or if it were just herslef and Ana.

Ana wasn't sure what a shrug meant, but she decided to make noodles anyway. "I'll make you some, see if you like them." Ana began to cook the noodles. She got an apple from the fridge and cut it up. She put the apple on a plate and put the plate on the Rebecca-size table she had gotten for her little sisters. Ana found one of the chairs for Rebecca to sit on. "Here's some apple slices." she beamed. Ana got the two-minute noodles out of the microwave, and put them in a bowl. "And here's your noodles."

Ana noticed Rebecca looking around. "What are you looking for?" Ana asked, then realized Rebecca wouldn't speak.

Rebecca smiled slightly as Ana made the noodles. She was excited that she was going to get to try the noodles. She walked over to the table that was her size and picked up an apple slice. She bit into it and sat on the chair Ana had brought over. She looked at the noodles and noted that they looked like worms. She made a face before touching it with her finger. Now she wasn't so sure she waned to try it. It looked as if it could attack her on command.

"What are you looking for?" Ana had asked. Rebecca thought about how she could say what was on her mind. She pointed to the table, then to herself then to Ana. She wished she could find it in herself to speak, she just couldn't find her voice.

Ana laughed at Rebecca's face. "They are yummy, try them!" she grinned. She got some more noodles out of the cupboard and made some for herself. She took her own bowl of noodles over to the small table, and sat down cross-legged. Ana smiled at Rebecca before she took a spoonful of noodles. Most people ate them with a fork, but Ana liked eating all types of pasta with a spoon. She swallowed ger first mouthful and beamed. "See? Yummy." Ana watched Rebecca try to mime. "People?" she asked, wondering if that was what Rebecca was trying to say.

Rebecca sighed when Ana ate the noddled. She slowly picked up a strand of the noodles and slipped it in her mouth. SHe smiled when she swallowed it. They really were nice. She beamed up at Ana and ate more of them. Then she nodded when Ana guessed correctly what she was saying. She wanted to know if other people lived here. If she was the only child. She picked up another slice of apple and popped it in her mouth. She looked at her doll and kissed its ear. She loved the doll. It even had a name. She had named it mummy, after her mother. She used to talk to 'Mummy' all the time, but now that she didn't talk, she would just pretend to talk to it.

Ana grinned when Rebecca smiled at her. "No other people here." she said. "But my little sisters visit a lot, you might like them." Ana told her. Ana finished her noodles, and got up to put her plate in the dishwasher. "I like your doll." she smiled. "I think I have some dolls clothes that she could wear, if you like. They're in your room." Ana told her.

Rebecca's eyes brightened when she spoke to her. Ana had figured out what she had been trying to say. Dolls clothes? Becca liked the sound of that and ran to her room to look for them. She found some in the closet and pulled them all out and had them all over the room. Rebecca was trying to see which clothes looked better on the small doll in her hands. She shook her head as she threw clothes behind her. None of them look right. She sighed and slumped against the bed pouting. She couldn't find the right dress for 'Mummy' and it made her sad.

Ana cleared the table, and put all the plates in the dishwasher. She walked into Rebecca's room to find Rebecca looking sad. "What's wrong?" she asked, then looked at all the dolls clothes littering the floor. "Nothing working for you?" she giggled. "C'mon, I'll show you my doll collection." Ana smiled. She walked down the hallway, through her bedroom and opened the door. The room was full of dolls. Most of them were in glasses cases, and there were shelves from the ceiling to the floor. She went over to the glass case where she kept her baby dolls. "See any clothes here you like?" Ana asked.

Rebecca followed Ana into another bedroom. She assumed it was Ana's. The room was full of dolls. Rebecca oogled at them and smiled slightly. She pointed to one of the dresses and nodded. She quite liked that dress. It looked like it would do perfectly for mummy. She looked at Ana. She wondered how hard it must be for her to understand Rebecca. Bex had it easy. She could understand the woman fine. But Ana, had to strain to understand the small blonde. She realised that it was going to be a difficult relationship between them, but she also had no doubt that they could make it work.

Ana smiled and unlocked the glass case. She carefully took the dress off the doll and handed it to Rebecca. Ana closed the doll case, and lead Rebecca out of the room. "What do you want to do now?" she asked her. "Do you want to go to the park?" Ana asked. There was a park close to Ana's house, and Ana often went there to write.

Rebecca took the dress from Ana and put it on te doll. She hugged it to her, It was perfect. She looked at Ana and thought for a second. She hadn't been to a park in a long time. She missed it. The last time she had gone she had been with her mum. She nodded and stood by the door. She wanted to go and see what the park was like. And there was nothing else to do really. She shrugged. It could be potential fun waiting to happen. I really think I'm going to like it here. Ana, is going to be my new mummy. She has lots of toys for me, and she is willing to take me to the park. Not to mention those noodley things. I really liked those. Yes Ana, I think I really like you. She said to herself. She would have liked to say it allowed. But she just couldn't.

"Okay, let's go!" Ana said happily. She loved the park, it was such a happy place. Ana walked with Rebecca to the park, which was just around the corner from her house. The park had a lot of trees for climbing, and a big playground. The playground had been around since Ana was a kid, but it had been remodelled a lot since then. Surprisingly there weren't too many children around, but Ana guessed most of them were at school. "Do you want to go play on the playground?" Ana asked.

Rebecca looked around as she carefully trode on the bark on the ground. She didn't really want Ana to leave her. She quickly ran back to the older blonde and hid behind her leg as another child walked up to her. She was scared. Scared of the people she didn't know. Her parents had been taken from her by people she didn't know, and now she was hard of trusting. The only reason she trusted Ana, was because she had gone through so much to get her from that orpahnage. And the fact that Ana had been so kind to her. She looked up at Ana, her eyes pleading with her to not leave her. She didn't want to go anywhere with out Ana.

The child got closer and seemed to smile. "Hi" She said quietly, so only Rebecca could hear. "I'm not apposed to talk to strangerers. but I fink you awre awowed?" She asked as she approached Rebecca. "Me Stephany, what is your name?" She asked smiling at Rebecca.

Rebecca shook her head and tugged on Ana's clothes. She couldn't talk to the brunette girl infront of her, even if she wanted too.
